I'm so happy that I'm seeing more and more Afghani restaurants opening up in Aurora. This place was really good. They make food fresh to order so there can be a bit if a wait. I love that when your seated they bring you hot tea with candy and their baked goods to eat with the tea. Food is good, portions are good and staff is friendly. The chutney that comes with the food is one of the best I've had. Give them a try.

Watan Restaurant & Bakery in Aurora, Colorado is a wonderful place for dinner. Last week I had the chicken kebab, and my friend ordered the lamb shish — both were incredibly fresh and delicious. The soup was absolutely amazing, and to our surprise, it was offered as a complimentary welcome gesture. They kindly told us the soup was free, which made the experience even more special. The staff were very warm, friendly, and welcoming. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. You can truly feel the hospitality from the moment you walk in. I highly recommend this place to everyone. If you are traveling through Colorado, especially near Denver, you should definitely stop by and try it — you won’t regret it. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Had a great experience at Watan in Aurora. We ordered the combo plate, hummus with fresh bread and the Qabili Uzbaki. The food was flavorful and the portions were generous. The Qabili Uzbaki stood out the most-the rice was perfectly seasoned with raisins an, and the lamb was incredibly tender. The combo plate was a great way to try a variety of items, and everything was well-cooked. The hummus and bread made a great starter- the bread was soft, and perfect for dipping. You could tell everything was made fresh. Our server was very friendly and helpful, especially when it came to answering questions about the dishes. The service definitely added to the overall positive experience. The restaurant itself has a casual and welcoming vibe. It's a great local spot if you’re looking to try authentic Afghan food. Highly recommend trying the Qabili if you haven’t before-it’s a must!

This is now the third repeated experience with poor food quality. The rice had no salt and was not properly cooked. The koobideh kebab was overcooked on the outside and raw inside, which is a serious food safety concern. The grilled vegetables were also undercooked. Even yesterday’s qabuli pulao had poorly cooked rice. After multiple chances, this level of inconsistency is not acceptable. Hello friends, I want to let people know that I do not recommend this restaurant. The owner’s behavior was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. After I left an honest review, the owner came into our business, caused a disturbance, and demanded to know why a negative review was posted. If needed, I can share a video of this behavior privately. We gave this restaurant multiple chances and ate there several times, but the food quality and service never improved. Customers have the right to leave honest feedback. Instead of harassment or confrontation, concerns should be handled professionally. I’m sharing this so others can make an informed decision.

We went to this restaurant first time and the food was delicious. The uzbeki pulao was so yummy. The meat is perfectly cooked and the taste is amazing!! We also had their kabobs which were also delicious. The owner and the host at the restaurant are very nice people. They were so welcoming and generous. They brought out tea and desert for us for free since it was out first time there. Definitely recommend this place. The hospitality is what made us so happy and food is delicious as well. Thank you Watan bakery. IA looking forward to come back soon.

Nice Afghan place for delicious food, options may be quite few. Hopefully they would improve their service, good luck!

Tried this place twice, and I have mixed feelings about it. The person at the cashier who takes the order (before you sit) doesn’t speak English and was unable to answer any question about the menu. We ordered one plate of meat with salad and sauce per the picture and description and a combo of grilled chicken and ground meat. After 35-40 min of waiting, they brought gyro a sandwich without any sauce on the side and no salad. The combo was good though. I don’t think I will be going back but feel free to try it if you’d like.

Watan Restaurant is an amazing place to enjoy authentic and delicious Afghan food. The flavors are fresh, the portions are generous, and everything tastes homemade. The staff is very welcoming and always treats customers with respect and kindness. The atmosphere is clean, comfortable, and perfect for a relaxing meal.
