While it lacks the defined lanes and lifeguards of an Olympic pool (swimming is at your own risk), its breathtaking views and charming atmosphere more than make up for it. The water is super cool. I walked the jetty, The regulars who swim here every day Make this place special all year round. Especially when the sun reflects off the water. Today's inspiration is relaxing and enjoying a book read and swimming nice and an amicable atmosphere.

What a cool concept! Not necessarily a pool, per se, but an area of the harbor that has been sectioned off with a fence to keep out sharks (and boats?). Murray Rose Pool is definitely an interesting place to visit and worth the stop if you’re in the neighborhood. Named after the famous Australian Olympian, this pool/beach has a small sandy area, some shaded benches to sit on, a really pretty view, and a walkway on the fence surrounding the “pool.” There’s also an outdoor shower and a cafe up a flight of stairs. Docking one point bc although it’s a nice place to visit, I can’t imagine the water would be that clean given all the boats nearby. Otherwise, highly recommend!

It is a very nice pool and very convenient to take a swim as there is a net which makes it safer for shark attacks. It is usually very crowded but the space is big enough so that you can easily find a nice spot. Unfortunately the cafe which is the only option is very bad - see my other review - and closes early so my suggestion is to bring some food with you when you make a visit

Enclosed harbour pool. Fun decks to jump off into the water. Shady area and grass or beach to sit on. Crowd is a mix of families and glamorous Eastern suburb types. Cafe attached but some items are expensive. On weekends there is free parking in council chambers above the beach.

Best to visit later in the evening after 6pm. That way the crowds aren't too bad and you're able to get parking. We loved visiting here in the summer months. Lovely little beach and safe swimming area for the kids. The kids loved jumping off the wharf into the water. Keen to visit here again!

This is a beautiful place to visit. There’s a cafe with decent coffee and food, a stunning garden to discover before you get to the red leaf pool and Woolhara gallery next to it which has different exhibitions in a lovely old house which has been converted. Do yourself a favour!

Stumbled upon this amazing spot when walking to my hotel. The food is yummy, the view is gorgeous. Such a great secret spot.

This is one of those places that makes Sydney so special. A wonderful spot all year round. To be honest the cafes not up to much, and it's a disgrace Woollahra council hasn't spent a penny here for years... but still 5 stars. Sydney's secret spot

Ever go somewhere and it's phenomenal but then you kind of forget how good it is until you go there again? It's kind of how I imagine many girls feel about my bedroom. Probably. But yeah, Redleaf. Halfway between Kings Cross and Vaucluse, it really is just a peach of a place. Stroll down through some magic manicured gardens to a hidden slice of damn near perfection. Long, lovely sand, a shady hill with green grass to sprawl on (shoot for a prime spot under the trees, or miss out and quietly get well jell of the people that did manage to jag a tree spot) and a big, beautiful private swimming pool made of the harbour itself. Swim out to the pontoons and have yo-self a little ol' pontoon party. That's what the cool Eastern Subbsies kids do. And pretending you're one of them can't hurt. You just have to get the strut right.

Redleaf Pool is one of my favourite spots in Sydney - these enclosed baths are hidden from the hustle and bustle of the nearby New South Head Road, yet remain ever so peaceful and easily accessible from the city by bus or boat. Even better is the kiosk located at the top of the hill, overlooking everyone swimming below as well as providing stunning views towards Darling Point and the Harbour Bridge. It's a simple café set up that serves yummy mod oz breakfasts and lunches throughout the week. I went recently with a friend on a super hot Saturday morning and got some chilled drinks to cool down before our swim. My freshly squeezed orange juice was seriously the best I've ever had; a pretty large serving size for $3.50, sweet and fresh-from-the-juicer frothy, while my friend's mixed berry smoothie was also tasty, made with cinnamon, honey and Greek yoghurt that was just sweet enough.

You're not heading down here for the amazing food or the best coffee - the reason you're heading to the pool kiosk is because it has the most stunning view and if you start your day off with a coffee here - you will feel like a million dollars.... Tucked away below the Woolahra council building, hidden below the garden you'll find this cute cafe which offer a few snacks and hot drinks to help keep hunger at bay... it's all good....but not amazing, but after a swim or a nice walk its the perfect place to grab a refreshment.... This is one of those Sydney treasures which I love.... as you need to be in the know in order to enjoy!

This is one of those places that make Sydney special. In a city of gorgeous beaches, here you a have sea water pool that offers something that the beaches cannot. Its huge for a start, so the proper swimmers can really get training without worry of tides and other ocean dangers. Then there is the scenic aspect. Its a great view from the road and as you walk down you take in the glorious vista. The wrap around pontoon is the perfect short walk that takes you right around the pool. And for the sun worshippers you have grass or beach to choose from. It seems more sheltered and less posey too, which is a big draw-card as far as I'm concerned.

A friend recommended this place with a knowing look of "oh...just you wait and see." She was right. I've slowly grown suspicious of Sydney beaches as they can sometimes be a bit grotty and overcrowded. Redleaf is neither of these things. Although it's small there's always space in this hidden away cove. The whole place is kept very clean and there are fantastic facilities such as toilets, showers and a cafe. There's also a big area cordoned off to swim in. The whole place faces the centre of Sydney, although you can't see the bridge the view is still spectacular. On Sundays the boats sail incredibly nearby too. You'll probably need a car to get here as it's quite out of the way, nevertheless this has quickly become my favourite beach in the Eastern suburbs.

Unless your in the know or know someone you wouldn't find it or even know about it! Great day for it when i went. Its one of those places that when you walking down the path like you've discovered a gem! Only downside is it can get busy so best to get in early to grab a spot. There isn't much waves here so don't expect much. Great for a cool dip on a hot summers day!

If the idea of confronting the masses at Bondi just seems a little too overwhelming, head to Redleaf and relish the harbourside serenity. The harbour 'pool' is bordered by a wharf which you can frolic upon, make your tanning bed, or utilise as your water bomb launch pad. Make like a lizard on the pontoon... then simply roll off and cool off when your skin starts to sizzle. Those pesky 'anti sand' people love to come here, because there's plenty of grass to perch on. Don your goggles and swim a few laps so you work up an appetite to hit the kiosk. Good coffee, fresh salads, gourmet rolls and sangas, and a selection of snack staples. Tip: watch out for sea urchins. A friend stood on one here once and I never heard the end of it.

Redfleaf is an idyllic harbour beach at the bottom of Woollahra Council. Don't expect waves - it's not that kind of beach - but if you just want a calm, clean harbour lapping at your toes, and a perfect balance of sand, seats, and a tuck shop, then you've found a winner. Also, you don't have to worry about sharks or wobbygongs or other large creatures of the sea, since the pool is netted off. You can lie out on the pontoons like Gatsby and Daisy, or wallow in the gentle wake of seacraft.

A cafe set in this location can do very little wrong. It overlooks the stunningly tranquil Redleaf Pool; a well-kept local hot-spot. Tucked up the stairs from the sea, the cafe benefits from the cool sea breeze and scented wafts of the jasmine. The food is simple, cafe style fare that is perfect for a quick lunch or a lazy breakfast down at Redleaf. As far as I know, they don't do beach-service, which is a great shame, but you can still go and grab a take-away coffee from the cafe and sit down by the beach. The cafe gets crowded, especially on the weekends, so it's worth getting here early for seats and fast service.
