On the Grid : Reservoir Park

"It’s rare to find a park so close to the city. Reservoir Park is bigger than you’d expect, and it has some beautiful rolling hills, covered picnic pavilions with fire pits, and multiple basketball/tennis courts. It has a newer playground for children, and you can hear the sounds of kids playing throughout the park." - GS&F

This adorable new park is such a gem! It features soft turf and rubber flooring under the swings, making it both safe and inviting for little ones. There’s a thoughtful inclusion of a handicap-accessible swing, along with two toddler swings and four swings for older kids—plenty for everyone to enjoy. The newly built playground is full of fun, with a variety of creative and challenging structures that will keep kids entertained for hours. It’s the perfect spot for families looking for a clean, inclusive, and engaging play space!

Great spot to walk the pups and mix up the scenery a bit. Well maintained park area and I feel safe being here in this area. I always enjoy new settings and being with the pups on days like this. I like all the history that is at your finger tips at this location. Great spot to meditate and chill!

Never crowded. Parking available off basketball courts. Nicely shaded. Sturdy, clean playground equipment. Nice neighborhood with little traffic as long as it's not daily rush hour times because Wedgewood gets packed then. But any other hours of the day it's practically empty.

The park is decent for kids, sports, and gatherings, but the sidewalks are not so great. If you wanted to walk from one side of the park to the other, you would have to walk through the grass. I guess that isn’t a deal breaker, but the park is big and has potential to be a great walking trail if they were to complete the sidewalks.

Way too many discarded cigarette packs and broken beer bottles for me to be psyched having my kid play there. Just a stroke of good luck that she decided not to play with the shards of glass. Too bad because there’s a wide open space to run in.
