"Natural Science and Anthropology Museum The Juan Cornelio Moyano museum of natural sciences and anthropology is one of the oldest and most prestigious museums of its kind in Argentina. Built in 1911 and named after Mendoza’s first constitutional governor, the museum has 80,000 specimens of mineralogy, paleontology, anthropology, ethnology, archaeology, and zoology. There are 500,000-year-old fossils and anthropological artifacts from the Inca and Huarpe cultures. Prado Español and Av. This is a natural history museum well worth the visit, particularly for children. And it's free! It is centrally located in the city at the south end of the lake in the lovely Parque San Martin.

A small bauhaus-style museum in the San Martin park. Exhibits are all in Spanish, but there was a small brochure provided at the entrance in English. Some exhibits labels are faded and can no longer be read. Some interesting exhibits on display, including reproduced dinosaur bones, fossils, and taxidermy animals. Admission was free. We saw all the exhibits in approximately one hour. Very few people on a weekday afternoon.

The museum is free, so although it is quite sparse with things to see, it is worth visiting when you're walking around the lake. It has a section on dinosaurs and some bones of Mendozasaurus on display, which I didn't know existed.
