"Near the Dominican Republic’s northwestern border with Haiti, the city of Montecristo, and El Morro National Park, this 12-room lodge makes a great base for exploring subtropical forestland and boating through mangroves. Warm woods, neutral tones, and black-and-white photos decorate the lovely understated guestrooms, while comfy loungers and lush greenery surround the bean-shaped pool. Spend your days bird-watching in the national park, deep-sea fishing, kayaking, or snorkeling off the cactus-covered Seven Brothers Island, then head back to the hotel for traditional Dominican dishes at El Morro, wood-fired pizzas at Restaurant Bubí, or drinks at the lobby bar."

The hotel is conveniently located between el Morro and el Malecon. Walkable to restaurants and to boat tours. Everything that the hotel offered was excellent. The staff were great. The pool was great and the rooms were spacious with all amenities.

Great quiet property where you will need a car to get around. The restaurant needs to revise the menu and bring more local fresh dishes. The pleasant guy in charge of the dining area is an excellent host. All the staff is helpful.

We had a splendid lunch (goat and seafood dishes) here after driving from Cabrera, and enjoyed our first night (comfortable and peaceful) and breakfast (omeletes). We are spending three nights. The food selection is varied and tasty and the portions very adequate. The staff are gracious and extremely helpful. We have lived on the island for five years, stayed in locations across the island, and lived in/ visited other countries. This hotel is appropriately priced for its level of service. The hotel is a short walk from the entrance to the El Morro park and a beach is almost across the road. The surrounds are tranquil and unhurried. Monte Cristi is remarkably tidy compared to almost every other town on the island. The absence of roadside trash is an example for the entire island. In a word: Excellent.

This place was so amazing. Such a hidden gem for a crazy reasonable price. The layout is almost like an all inclusive on a small scale. They have a ton of different areas to sit and relax, a restaurant on site that has very solid food and breakfast is included. The staff was extremely friendly. And monte cristi is an underrated place to visit with the history, el morro National Park and the natural pools in the mangroves. There are nearby beaches and other restaurants to visit.

The surroundings of the hotel are outstandingly beautiful. Unfortunately the hotel itself has seen better times. The place would be really cute but the management is bad. The pool was green, the WIFI not working, the A/C made a terrible noise the first night. We did not have hot water neither pressure. All over the place you find broken furniture, abandoned buildings, messy corners. The room is OK but everything looks kind of outworn and not well maintained (white paint marks all over). The restaurant area was left alone - the tables were not set, not a single item of decoration - not inviting at all. The service was not great neither. Even though we were the only guests staying it was difficult to receive 1 more hour for the check out (we were having lunch at their restaurant and didn't want to have to leave our room while eating ... ). The breakfast, food and drinks were really good though and prices are reasonable. The price per night of more than 100 USD for the accommodation is not justified though.
