Disk Union Shinjuku Second Hand Record Store

Disk Union is definitely one of the best record branches (up there with Tower Records) in Tokyo! Great and wide range of many different music genres and I even found what I was looking for. Good customer service by the staff and reasonable prices.

I’m into 70/80’s pop/rock music ..I visited many Disk Union stores in Tokyo during my recent trip. Beside Disk Union @Shibuya Rock in Tokyo, Shimokitazawa and Ikeburuko.. I enjoyed this one at Shinjuku the best! I think is the biggest Disk Union store in Tokyo! Stop at Shinjuku Station. Follow signs for East Gate and Exit via B6. Walk about 6 min to Disk Union Shinjuku Second Hand Record Store. Once you reached 3rd floor, the setup and decor beside the entrance and in front of the lift, just wanna you to take a few pictures before you step into the store.. You probably spend 1-2 hours at the store, browsing and grabbing a few gems and LPs! Check out the ¥100 selections at the bottom racks, definitely worth a look.. probably can find many lost gem ! Great place for used record, if want find something special, direct ask assist from staff, they will assist search in computer. My treasure is found here🥰 have plenty of accessories in here as well. Mofi inner sleeve, used catridge.

A fantastic place to visit. Really good selection of vinyl and CDs at decent prices. It’s a big shop but can get busy, especially if you are in there a while like me! If you are looking for a certain artist or band, keep looking in different sections as they have them in multiple locations. This store is on the 3rd floor next to the Disney store. Highly recommended.

Really cool place, find it inside a building on the 3rd floor. Browse the sidewalk to spot the sign. Hadn’t set foot in a cd/record store since the early 00’s and for some reason the shinjuku area has lots of them. Most of the stores like this one carry mainly titles up to a decade ago (except for J and K pop), don’t expect to find the latest top 40 us/Europe hits, but just like 20 years ago you can browse the cds physically and discover some unknown artists. It made me realize how much of an effort it was back then to buy and discover some music, it’s a great experience and I purposely purchased some unknown cds (prices range from 100 to 700 yen on average) can’t wait to listen to them, wait… do I still even have a cd player???

Huge selection of pretty much any genre of music from punk to jazz to classical. Also many movies & shows (DVD & Blu-ray).

The selection of vinyl is much less extensive than it was previously at the old shop. Prices were mostly quite high and the shop gets very busy. Still some bargains to be had but you need more luck on what’s available on your visit rather than reliably being able to leave with armfuls of records each time nowadays.

The second hand jazz section was great, I picked up a JP press of a Sonny Clark Trio LP for a good price. Everything here seemed really fairly priced in fact. The staff were also nice, thank you.
