The waiters were very polite and warm. Our orders were served very quickly. The waiter's wine recommendation was spot on. We ordered steak, which was delicious. The high ceiling, reminiscent of a train station, creates a very spacious atmosphere. The clientele was also quite distinguished.

Always nice to eat here. The service is friendly, the menu has a wide variety and the atmosphere is beautiful because of the character the building has.

The tagline is a "refined venue" but this is more like a local neighborhood restaurant. It's fine, but not worth the drive if you are staying downtown. The steak was tough and of poor quality, and I'm pretty sure my wife (who has a gluten allergy) was glutened here despite a warning to the staff.

One of my favourite restaurants in Amsterdam. The brasserie vibes of this place are unmatched. The menu has loads of options and they’re all delicious. I recommend taking an entree and a main dish, trust me, you will have enough food with the two! Yes, it is pricier than your average restaurant but that’s why I like it, I can come for a special occasion and every time I come I am not disappointed. Great atmosphere as this restaurant is in an old water pumping station so very cool architecture and super spacious and open. The staff are super friendly although sometimes it can take a bit to get noticed bit that’s just because there are many tables.

I can understand when service is bad in a full restaurant. But here it was simply her attitude. The restaurant was almost empty, waiter saw that people are waiting to be seated and she was just talking to her friends. Food is not special. A better sea food dishes can be found in other sea food restaurants. I love places in historical buildings, but I stop going there after facing such attitudes.

We started with the artichoke and prawn croquettes, which were a wonderful balance of flavors and textures, setting the tone for the rest of the meal. For mains, we had the beef, cod, pea ravioli, and steak tartare. Each dish was beautifully presented, showcasing fresh ingredients and classic techniques. The simplicity of the food allows the quality to really shine. The venue itself is truly something special. Housed in an old water pumping factory, the restaurant's high ceilings and preserved factory equipment give it a striking industrial-chic vibe. Dining here feels like being part of a unique blend of history and modern style, making the atmosphere just as memorable as the food. If you're looking for a place with great food and a remarkable ambiance, Café Restaurant Amsterdam is well worth a visit.

Wow- we can’t wait to come back. We attended lunch after Bill’s Bike tour for our 15th wedding anniversary and had fabulous food and service! Thank you for making our anniversary special!

Generally a good if mixed experience. The Cesar salad and steak frites were very good and a reasonable price, spoiled by the fact that i was brought béarnaise sauce (which wasn’t very flavourful) instead of peppercorn sauce, and spent 10 minutes trying to notify a waiter before I resigned myself to eating as. Luckily, the steak itself and the sticky toffee pudding to follow were otherwise unimpeachable!
