"Sunset hike (or elevator ride!) and evening picnic Pack a few slices of focaccia (and a half bottle of prosecco) and head up to Castelletto at sunset for a beautiful view of the lights coming on over the harbor. If you want to walk it (I warn you, it is steep!), take the staircase at the end of Via Garibaldi and just keep heading up. You will eventually come to the Piazza di Castelletto and its sweeping views. If you prefer the elevator for a quick ride, catch it in the Piazza del Portello."

Enter the Galleria Giuseppe Garibaldi tunnel on foot. There's a door in the middle of the tunnel. As you enter, you'll find an elevator directly opposite. This historic, old elevator takes you up to the tunnel. The view is truly magnificent. From the top, you can see the port, the center, and all of Genoa.

I suggest going early, around 11 o'clock, there are a lot of people here,but the scenery is wonderful!My friend in Genoa highly recommended this place

There used to be a small castle here (castelletto) but that was demolished in the 19th century to make way for a small residential area.

Amazing views, if you came in walking be careful going inside of the elevator building they will try to charge you money, the operator was very rude thinking I was evading the fare. Other than that I think it’s worth the hike for the view
