This café is so much more than a coffee shop — it’s a cornerstone of our little beach town. It’s where my family walks down to and gathers for a quick breakfast almost everyday, where locals start their day, and where visitors are always greeted with a warm smile. The heart of this place lies not just in its food or cozy beach-town charm, but in the people who run it — people who feel like family because they treat you like family.
Today, I witnessed an interaction that left many of us stunned. The customer who left the negative review below about the manager painted a completely false picture. The woman they criticized is one of the kindest, most gracious people you’ll ever meet — someone who greets each person with warmth and goes out of her way to make everyone feel welcome. The behavior of the customer today was beyond rude to her and the staff and threatened her with the poor review in front of everyone, and saying he was her worst nightmare, we couldn’t be more disgusted by his actions. As locals we were all appalled. This is a small business and reviews matter, don’t take it out because you didn’t get your way and were nothing but rude. We were proud to see the manager stand her ground. She and her staff work hard and didn’t deserve to be treated like that.
If you’re looking for a place with a genuine sense of community, where kindness is the norm and everyone is treated like a regular, this café is it. But if you can’t respect the people behind the counter — the heart and soul of this beloved spot — maybe this isn’t the place for you and that’s okay because as locals we wouldn’t want you here anyway!
