Billy's Burgers and Bar

I have been here a few times and never had a bad experience. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. They offer interesting cocktail choices which are like an alcoholic lollies bar..not my style but I like the creativity. The burgers are tasty and the chips and onion rings are really good. I usually eat in as it is a good vibe..at lunch with families around and in the evenings with younger people before they go out. And being situated right at the harbour front it's easy to get to and from.

Pulled pork loaded fries are a standout - like amazing. The burgers however are nothing amazing, not bad but not wow. Service is good and the shop itself is clean and comfy. Also a bit overpriced Edit: And yes the photo is from a couple years ago but I’ve definitely had the pulled pork fries recently (in the last few months) and they were still good 🤪

Billy, Billy, Billy... Having been a huge fan of this American-style burger restaurant for years now, our latest experience was anything but what we expected. What was arguably the best loaded fries ive ever eaten (with a cheesy sauce, pulled pork, pickles, and more) has descended into a choice of 3 options with the pulled pork one priced at $20, so I ran with the cheesy sauce with bacon at a little over $13. After spending $22.50 on a mixed platter - which my wife described as disgusting and couldnt finish - and $35 on a Big Billy burger for a total bill of more than $60, I just couldn't justify the pork option. The cheesy sauce was like a canned mac cheese sauce I had in Karft Mac n Cheese packs as a kid, that made me feel sick by the end of the meal so I couldn't finish it. I tried the jalepino poppers, onion rings and mac and cheese bites from my wife's platter, which seemed to be from frozen food packs, and my wife said the buffalo chicken was dry and not enjoyable. To be fair, the burger tasted okay - but nothing better than a Maccas Big Arch Burger that was a third of the price. I felt ill after the meal from the sugars, carbs and greasiness and didnt eat again at dinner. My wife and I will never return. Wouldn't eat at Billy's again if it was free. Overpriced, poor quality and tasteless platter, a shocking step back in the quality of loaded fries that used to be epic, a tasty burger, but generally a dreadful dining experience. Don't waste your money here. This just isn't the same Billy's.

A very welcoming greeting as you enter through the door. Sitting next to the window, looking out across the pier. We ordered Mrs Billy chicken burger & classic burger. Saturday is all day $10 cocktails. Staff were very polite & offered great service with tasty food.

Had a friend down from interstate and we were looking for some lunch and as we were near thus place we thought....why not! Staff were busy but were friendly enough. I ordered the Billy's Burger with a side I'd Tassies Fries and a vanilla thickshake, which all came to a scratch under $30. Burger was tasty enough but nothing overly amazing. The fries were crunchy and very satisfying and the thickshake topped it off nicely. Don't know what the bar is like but you could easily start your night off here with a few drinks and a feed before hitting the town.

Was here in March recently. Very nice burger. Ordered the big Billy to go and service was fast as there were not many patrons. Ate at the outside seating area as there was still time before the cruise.

First time in Hobart came here for a nice feed the food is absolutely amazing service is the best I’ve seen anywhere everyone is so nice, I will 100% be coming back next time I’m in Tasmania

Nice place , good burgers. Maybe a bit too small for the price , but tasty and good- maybe I was just a bit too hungry. You get a buzzer to inform you when the food is ready. It is also in the most touristy area- so higher prices can be expected. Clean place with inside and outside seating.
