"For whatever reason, Sanibel Dolphin Tours is based out of Fort Myers. While there are other, less confusingly named tour operators in the area, this one limits itself to private groups of six people, ensuring an intimate experience. During two-hour tours, guests get up-close-and-personal with Atlantic dolphins, manatees, eagles, osprey, frigate birds, and even sea turtles. Absolutely amazing tour! You know it was GREAT when Captain Derrick pulls his phone out to grab some pictures!!! The captain was so knowledgeable, outgoing and so much! I lost count of all the dolphins we saw! We were surrounded by them. It was stunning!! We even saw a momma and baby dolphin, dolphins feeding, even dolphins flipping and jumping!!! Absolutely fantastic time! Best dolphin tour we have ever done!!

Booked a last minute tour with Derrick. I was bnervous because we had never been on a boat in the ocean before. When we got on the boat I was very impressed with the way Derrick guided his boat. He was always conscious of other boaters and making sure our tour was excellent. We had a great experience and seen dolphins our entire tour. Thanks Capt. Derrick!

Derrick, our captain, grew up in these waters (his family has been working in them for multiple generations) and taught us so much about the land, the water, and the animals. He truly loves sharing his passion with others and uses his knowledge to provide an exciting experience for every guest. We were blessed enough to see many dolphins who swam towards our boat to play and two manatee in a residential area. I can’t stop thinking about how grateful I am to have had these encounters.

We had an amazing experience on this Dolphin Tour with our party of 5 including 3 kids. Captain Derrick is phenomenal. He knows the area so well and we were able to see many dolphins, manatee and just overall beautiful scenery on a perfect afternoon. The boat was meticulously kept too! We had such a wonderful time on our private tour with Captain Derrick. My husband and I took our two kids (ages 8 and 5) and they loved it! It was a windy day with rough waters, but Captain Derrick navigated us around beautifully. We were so grateful to have seen a mother manatee and her baby, and a dolphin pod. Captain Derrick was a wealth of information and we learned so many cool things from him about the islands, different animals, boats, etc. We loved the experience and will absolutely do it again. I can't recommend Captain Derrick and Sanibel Dolphin Tours enough.

Just went on a dolphin tour with Captain Derrick and he was amazing! We saw so many dolphins and my daughters were thrilled! His tour was the highlight of our Florida trip. He is very knowledgeable about the area and the wildlife. He was very easy to communicate with and his boat was easy to find. The parking outside the dock was easy to find and Derrick has a nice boat. Highly recommend!

This was an amazing experience! We had awesome encounters with dolphins and manatees while in the company of a great captain. When you book your tour, your credit card deposit is to secure your reservation only. Be prepared to pay after your excursion. Also you meet the captain on the boat dock at the ramp next to the bridge. There is no official office building.

Captain Derrick knows the waters better then the coast guard! We have went out with him multiple times and we will come back every year. Very kid friendly, very safe, he reads the waves from other boats so you don’t get slammed. Fantastic fantastic fantastic! See you next year!

What a fantastic fishing trip! Captain Tom put us on the fish! After catching bait we headed to a reef offshore of Sanibel Island where we had non stop action with Barracuda ,Amber Jack,king Mackeral, Blue runners and we even duked it out with a Goliath grouper until our line gave out. Our prize fish of the day was a 51 inch King Mackeral. What a blast that was! On our way back in he asked us if we wanted to catch some trout ,he knew a little spot. Again it was non stop action both on bait and lures. I have owned boats my whole life and have been fishing both sport and commercially in California for the last 30 years yet I still learned a lot. Captain Tom Carter is outstanding. He has great customer service and gets to know what you want in a fishing experience. We had a charter for two and he took us to several spots to fish. He was so attentive with baiting and watching our lines. He is so knowledgeable about the fish, area, and wildlife. We caught 8 different species of fish. I had said that I wanted to see some dolphins and he saw a pod and got them in his wake. He has a great sense of humor and it felt like we were fishing with a friend. We will be making this an annual tradition with Captain Tom.
