The Ivy Spinningfields Brasserie, Manchester

Great service from entering the main door to reception, with cloak room service. We were escorted to our table. The staff were efficient and friendly. We chose from the 1917 menu, but definitely go back again as all the menus including the seasonal one looked great. Easy to find off Deansgate. We booked our table in advance, it's advisable to do so, it's very popular.

We had an absolutely fantastic time at The Ivy Manchester enjoying the £19.17 menu. The food was superb, the service was flawless, and the staff were exceptional from start to finish. A brilliant evening all round — we can’t wait to return and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Manchester!

What a wonderful experience we had at the Ivy Brasserie!! Food was amazing, and prices were very good for the service and atmosphere you get. There is something for everyone, and you can order from Ivy Asia as well on request which is nice. I would definitely recommend the duck salad as a starter, and the Succulent Fillet Steak which was cooked to perfection! NOTE: Ivy Asia is on the 2nd floor / Ivy Brasserie is on the ground floor and 3rd floor (roof garden) **helpful when making your reservation

The Ivy is always a great place for a special meal. A wide range of delicious dishes from a posh burger to the nicest shepherd's pie. Centrally located in Spinningfields, the friendly staff will make you feel welcome and the food is perfect. You have a choice of the ground floor, main restaurant or the top floor (enclosed) roof garden which is light and airy. It's our go-to for special occasions, they've never let us down.

Amazing food, top drawer service, all at brilliant prices! An awesome mix and one of the best meals I’ve had in Manchester - top notch value proposition! Particularly kudos to our waitress to Natalia who made our night truly special and even surprised us with extra desserts to celebrate our evening!

Our first time dining at the Ivy. A very busy and classy restaurant. Cocktails to start, they were very good. The ambience was also very good and the service was excellent from our server Sophia, and we were also looked after by Andrew on the evening. They were both tentative and knowledgable about the suggested dining options. The sea bass was very tasty and the burger was excellent. Thanks also for the lovely surprise profiteroles to celebrate our anniversary. The food was lovely and prices reasonable. We will be calling again.

The Ivy is absolutely stunning ..the space is very aesthetically pleasing, with beautiful décor and different room sizes to suit any kind of event. The staff are lovely and attentive. I went for my friend’s birthday, and they were so kind to provide a cake and candle, which made the celebration even more memorable. The food was delicious, and overall, it was a truly enjoyable experience. I highly recommend The Ivy for anyone looking for a beautiful setting, great food, and exceptional service!

We had a fabulous pre-theatre dinner here at the Ivy. The staff, from front-of-house to the servers were exemplary and only matched by the dining experience. After cocktails, we started with the duck parfait and lobster soufflé, followed by the chicken bourguignon and the linguine. Loved the vibe and decor here, especially with enough space around the tables so not feeling overcrowded. and will definitely be coming here again, thankyou!

Delicious food, nicely presented. Interesting drink menu. Fabulous decor and atmosphere, although a bit on the loud side for dinner conversation. Overall, we all greatly enjoyed.

What a cool restaurant. Four levels of eclectic decor. Er arrived early for our reservation-we were quickly greeted and given options for our dining. We opted to head to the bar on level 3 to wait on a table. Henry was gem! Making us solid cocktails and delightful conversation. Our table was in the atrium-can't wait to dine in there in the warmer months! Dinner consisted of sea bass(a little saucy) and fish n chips (perfection). Don't miss the restroom-apparently it's an IG must! ***Reservations highly recommend

The Ivy is a British restaurant chain founded in 1917, the brand as a whole is popular with celebrities, with a premium interior and pricing. This location in Manchester launched towards the end of 2018, with a huge restaurant in Spinningfields, it's located over three floors featuring The Ivy Brasserie, The Ivy Ava, The Ivy Roof Garden and a private dining area. It felt premium and fancy just entering the place, being greeted by the bouncer at the door and checking in at the desk before being guided to my table. I dined on the Ground Floor in the regular Ivy part of the restaurant, the menu appeared to be the same as other branches I've visited. To access allergen information, I had to scan a QR code on the regular menu, the staff were reasonably knowledgeable and helpful regarding this although I was disappointed with the lack of gluten-free options, there was such a large regular menu but I could count GF options on one hand. My server explained due to the use of a shared frier, this reduced options such as the fries. I ended up going for The Ivy Shepherd's Pie, I also considered having a steak but decided against it, as I didn't want to spend £30+ on a steak that I couldn't have chips alongside. The portion size was rather small, it could have done with having a side with it, but again this was limited due to not having much to go with it I could have, due to being coeliac. It was pretty tasty though. The meat and mash topping was well seasoned and tasty, accompanied by the red wine sauce, I cleared my plate. While the GF options may be limited, the allergy process here is good, my server talked me through a couple of options and why I could not have certain items, such as the fries, and my meal also came with an allergen flag so I knew my needs were taken care of. As we were here to celebrate my mother's birthday, after alerting them of the festivities, the brought her a small dessert at the end, for no extra charge, which was a nice gesture. A service charge is added to the bill here which I find to be an Americanised concept which I wholly disagree with as it should be up to the customer to leave a tip or not. We decided to pay the service charge on this occasion as the staff were very good to us and it would have been mean to take it off, but to be put in that situation in the first place is just uncomfortable. If you're looking for a fancy meal to celebrate a more special occasion, then this is certainly a good option. Perhaps not the best place to go if you have an allergy, however. 4*

This had to be the best decorated restaurant I've ever been too. Three floors plus a rooftop dining. We sat on the first floor but next time I have to sit on the third floor. That floor! Our server was quite busy as this restaurant was quite crowded so it took her some time to finally introduce herself to us. Must have waited 20 min. If we had better service, this would have been 5 stars in my book. The food we ordered, and it take some time too, man that cheese soufflé was money. So good. Very pleased with my blackened cod and it also came with a glass of wine too. Who knew! Fish and chips was spot on too. We really liked the fries. We didn't want to wait another long time for dessert, so we decided to head back to our hotel to get dessert.

So to start, we did the Asia level ... there are different levels with different cuisines. The ivy is one of those quite posh places where people tend to go in suited and booted, beautiful from the outside and stunning on the inside. We got in and went up to our level and the layout was STUNNING .... The Asian style art adorned on the walls and ceiling was beautiful, the floor .. omg the floor was gorgeous. (See photos) We got sat down and as it was our first time it took us a little to work through the menu, the server was super nice and helped us along the entire time. So we were told it's a sort of family style where you pick 2-3 dishes per person and usually share them. But first drinks ... we went for the simple Italian white wine which was delicious and then went for a plum sake .. when in Rome right? The sake .. OMG .. it was so good I've got a bottle of it coming today haha. Fruity, syrupy, no alcohol burn. So we picked 3 dishes each and they came out when ready and somewhat staggered as the place was busy. Oh and the place settings were picturesque. Restaurant logo's chopsticks (and waitress asked if we were ok with them and brought out a knife and fork for my brother). First to arrive was the pork bao bun with spiced apple purée on the side. DIVINE!! And also the glazed buttermilk chicken ... perfectly sized pieces and delicious. Next that came was the the kimchi egg fried rice, the kimchi rice with a bit extras, the slow cooked pork belly, and the wagyu Denver steak cooked pink. EVERY SINGLE dish was expertly made, tasted absolutely delicious and went down a treat. Not wanting the night to end we went for a desert each of mochi ice cream balls (we went for coconut, mango, & vanilla with a mango purée and the mango doughnuts. The donuts were still warm, a perfect size and both were absolutely STUNNING

Beautiful interior food was delightful..... the ambiance and ambience atmosphere was definitely worth it.

I went to The Ivy for a big family gathering. Although The Ivy has been in Spinningfields for over 4 years (it opened November 2018) this was first time I had been. And its close to my gym too so I see it a few times during the week when on the treadmill!! LOL. The venue itself is beautiful. Nice on the outside, even better on the inside. Lots of opportunities to take photos. We ate in the downstairs level and in a sectioned off area. On the 2nd floor is The Ivy Asia which is the Asian inspired food/drinks. I think Ivy Asia is more of an evening/night out/weekend type of place as its only open in the evenings on weekdays. Its got a "late night" bar and a fancy green stone floor. On the top floor of the building is the Roof Garden. The Ivy Manchester also has 3 private dining areas. I saw one of them, not sure which one, but it looks lovely. Anyway, to the food. I went for the Truffled Wild Mushroom (Potato rosti, creamed mushroom, fried quail's egg and grated truffle) for starter, the rib eye on the bone for main and the chocolate bomb (melting chocolate bomb with a vanilla ice cream, honeycomb centre and hot salted caramel sauce. I really liked the Truffled Wild Mushroom starter. Looks nice, tasted nice. Sort of like a breakfast with potato rosti (basically a hashbrown), with egg and mushroom. The steak was OK/alright. It was a bit odd when it came to the table and it was just a steak on table. No small salad, some sort of leaves, maybe some tomatoes. And did order some chips as a side. I asked for steak medium rare which was how it was cooked but not as juicy as I hoped. And not as flavoursome ideal. Considering the price, I did hope for better. If you do consider the price, may even say the steak was "meh". The dessert was nice. When it comes to the table, they pour over the hot caramel sauce and the outside chocolate shell melts. I had to be quick with camera to take the video because got no warning. (I had seen photos on Instagram of the toilets in The Ivy and they looked all fancy. Realised though that it was just the women's toilets. The men's toilets was pretty normal! I know men typically don't spend as much time in toilets as women but thought may have been different!! LOL

My wife and I spent a nearly a week in Manchester, and the highlight of our trip was dinner at the Ivy. There's a problem, however. The funky decor, ambience, and atmosphere of the Ivy is so wonderfully romantic, playfully eclectic and interesting, and the food service so great, that the rest of your visit to Manchester will pitifully pale in comparison. It may also cause you to question your own life choices more generally. The Ivy is a ridiculously fun set of dining spaces that combine artful decor and delicious food in the heart of Manchester. We had reservations on the 3rd floor, which is themed in an eclectic Asian motif with a great bar and a raised, illuminated green floral floor. Illuminated! It's a dining experience unlike any other. Like any other dopamine-charged bit of excitement, however, the eventual crash back to reality is both inevitable and harsh. After dinner at the Ivy, I was involved in a number of activities during our vacation. I jumped from an airplane at the Manchester Knights Sky Dive Centre. Boring. I rock climbed at the Awesome Walls Climbing Centre, and participated in a series of paintball skirmishes with my new mates at Delta Force Paintball. Ho hum and who cares. I longed for the hipster mixologists, wild decor and delicious food at the Ivy. I could even see the immediate disappointment in my wife's eyes after we left the Ivy together. Once we left the Ivy, I was no longer her romantic consort and suave dinner date, but the guy who straps a CPAP machine to his face every night after slipping into his mustard-stained sweatpants. Reality is brutal, pallid and dreary when held in contrast to the lively and effortless glamour of the Ivy. I'm just as certain that the British don't know how to how to spell "Centre" (some may blame the French or lament the end of empire and the 19th century, but it's time to move on) as I am that I will return to an extraordinary highlight of my visit to Manchester - The Ivy Spinningfields Manchester. Great spot for dinner and drinks for either a night out with friends or for date night! I went with a girl friend (Pre-COVID) & we really enjoyed ourselves. Our server was friendly and attentive. We did not have to wait a long time for our food. & the Food was very flavorful. After dinner we went upstairs to their outdoor seating and it was a lovely time! Prices were a little on the higher end but not expensive - a good price for the atmosphere and food/drinks. :)

I met a friend here after work. The doormen looked like something from the matrix. One of them opened the door and to the right was a receptionist who arranged us a table.. it felt like a hotel rather that a restaurant especially having to get in a shiny brass elevator. Our location was a outdoor garden theme, there was so much leafy decor I struggled to take it all in. We got assigned a waitress who introduced herself and said she would look after us for that evening . The food is a little pricy, starters on average £7.50+ and mains from £17 to £30. They didn't have the house beer available so I opted for another random one..my friend had a £9 cocktail which she seemed to enjoy. I was going to originally have scallops for main and duck curry for main but my friend pointed this tiny special card out..which had monkfish and king prawns curry so we both ordered that and swapped the scallops for duck parfait . The starter was innovative. It looked like a tomato which was actually the jelly and inside lay the tasty duck. On the side lay some lovely bread. My friends prawn stater looked good but not amazing. The curry was gorgeous in flavour and the fish cooked perfectly and plenty of it. My friend wanted to try the £30 lobster initially but we were skeptical how much the dish would contain. I.e value for money or not. Feeling pretty full I still ordered sorbet. The salted caramel one was good but the blood orange tasted like lemsip.. usually it's my favourite flavour but this is the only thing that let down the meal. Overall a great place to go somewhere fancy without breaking the bank too much.. it cost £118 for a 3 course meal for 2 with 2 drinks each. Sure I will be back, service was impeccable too and such lavish toilets!!

Terrible. We actually had to pay over £16 for service charge on 2 orange juices and on a FREE AFTERNOON TEA Gift voucher. A free gift that cost us over £16 because we bought 2 orange juices before the Afternoon Tea was ready. It can only be described as a technical T&Cs RIP OFF. Such a shame as when it did come ,the Afternoon Tea itself was great and the ambiance was superb. Won't be buying any Gift Vouchers for our friends for the Ivy !

I was on my own Grand Tour and was only in my home town for a couple of days . I was recommended this restaurant by a friend who booked the table then did not turn up lol. Food was excellent the ambience perfect and service impressive. I did not give 5 stars as I found the prices a bit high. I'm not afraid of paying for good food and service but when I got my credit card bill in US dollars I raised an eyebrow . Side note, my 17 yr old Nephew tried to order a pint of lager. Happy to say he was politically refused.

Fantastic place! We ate at the Ivy Asia on the second floor and everything about it was fantastic. It's well appointed with a beautiful floor and decor. You can't go wrong with really any of the food and the service staff was extremely attentive.

Absolutely incredible experience. We came for breakfast on my daughters birthday. Service was incredible and food was exceptional!

Highly recommend the Ivy Asian & Garden Rooftop floors at Ivy. The service is on point and they always make you feel welcome. The food is tasty and the seafood is incredibly fresh. Ivy Asian has a sleek and hip vibe to it with a light up green stone floors. We love spending time at the bar and testing out all of the cocktails. There's a DJ on each floor, setting the mood with appropriate music. The garden rooftop is a little bit more laid back then Asian in my opinion. The tables have comfortable chairs are surrounded with plants. The garden menu has a good mixture of traditional menu items and some more exotic options as well. Both can be a bit on the pricier side but that's to be expected for what you get.
