"Specializing in unagi, Nishihara serves up quality, delectable eel Kanto-style. According to Inside Osaka, this specific technique involves slicing the eel open along the back and steamed right before grilling it, giving it a more tender texture."

Definitely the best unagi rice I had during my trip to Osaka this year. The shop handled their high quality eels with Tokyo’s steam+charcoal grill cooking style, absolutely delicious. They only have limited seats so make sure make a reservation before you visit. Highly recommended!

Reservations only! Had a wonderful experience at this eel restaurant. If you’re a tourist the menu is only in Japanese so make sure you use google translate or show them pictures. You can choose from a small, medium, or large eel on rice set. My party all ordered the small and it was already quite a lot of food. One of the best things about the meal was the fried eel bones for appetizer. I recommend this place to any eel lover.

I think they don't accept foreigner, I go to there twice, spend a lot of travel time by foot and train First time going there, 30 minutes before closing lunch time Second time, early when they open for dinner Both resulted with statement "CLOSE" from the owner! If they can't handle foreign customer, why don't they just write "I'm sorry only Nihon customer" or just say "no gaijin" or whatever it is, don't say "close" because you give people hope

I am a fan of unagi don, and this one is by far the best among all. Soft and tender, and I could taste it was charcoal grilled. It explains why it is always fully booked. It is even better than some michilen restaurants. The portion is big, so I ordered a medium size, and I was perfectly filled. I will definitely come back with my friends and family.

One of the best meals of my trip. Came a bit early (~1130) and had to wait for coals to heat up, but would wait again. Can’t recommend enough

Quaint little place that only seats 9 and prepares your eel on the spot. I was lucky to be able to walk in during lunch, but on some days they are fully booked. Menu is all handwritten in Japanese so be sure to have someone who knows how to read it with you. Eel meat was soft and fluffy yet flavourful, and they give you fried eel bones before your meal as an appetizer.

Very good Unagi restaurant. Grilled on the spot and the freshness of the eel can be appreciated. Eel bone is also delightfully fried. Only Japanese menu but some picture pointing from their tabelog page should do the trick.
