We stayed for two nights at the Wasserturm Cologne to celebrate my birthday, and overall it was a truly lovely experience. The location is excellent—very close to Neumarkt, and from there you can easily explore Cologne on foot. Exactly how a city hotel should be: central, yet pleasantly calm.
Upon arrival, everything at the reception was perfectly prepared. I had ordered fresh fruit and a bottle of Prosecco for our room, and the check-in was quick and smooth. After settling in, we relaxed for a while and later went up to the restaurant bar. The sharing-style dishes are delicious, the atmosphere is wonderful, and the view over Cologne is simply beautiful. We really enjoyed the evening up there.
Our two-level suite was very spacious, spotlessly clean, and tastefully designed. Once again, a lovely view over the city—this building has real character and history, combined with modern comfort.
A small point of criticism: the gym is rather small. My wife was a bit disappointed, so we decided to visit another gym near Neumarkt instead, which didn’t bother us—but it’s worth mentioning.
The breakfast, served downstairs in the restaurant, was generous and of high quality. Later in the day, we also enjoyed tea and canapés in the foyer, which was a very nice touch.vOne thing I personally found a pity: there is no wellness or pool area. That would have made the stay absolutely perfect, especially in such a unique location.
That said, we truly enjoyed our stay. The service was attentive, the atmosphere special, and the Wasserturm remains a real highlight in Cologne.
