"Pagua Bay House Oceanfront Cabanas Why we love it: A beachside oasis where stylish design meets natural beauty Highlights: - Amenities like hammocks, private patios, and outdoor soaking tubs - Lush grounds with a poolside grill - Friendly owners who will help plan your stay The Review: Set on a sugar-white beach just 10 minutes from Douglas-Charles Airport, this elegant property offers four cabanas and two suites, all positioned for bay views and cooling winds. Hardwood gleams throughout, punctuated by rich colors and textures. Expect refined touches like hammocks, private patios, and outdoor soaking tubs, as well as bathrooms with oversized showers and magnificent slab counters.Complete with sweeping Atlantic views and sleek industrial fixtures, the open-air restaurant focuses on farm-to-table fare, offering everything from handmade jams and baked goods to infused island rums. Vegetarians can look forward to dishes like coconut curry and dasheen (taro) puffs with aioli, while omnivores should try the shrimp fritters, ginger-glazed mahi-mahi, and slow-roasted local pork, which comes folded into a delectable sandwich. While prices here are on the steeper side forDominica, the hotel’s style, elegance, and personalized service make it worth the splurge. Owners Rick and Alicia will happily help with itineraries and arrangements, as well as loan beach chairs, snorkeling gear, and equipment for river tubing. For excitement closer to your room, there’s a cornhole set on the lawn and some of the country’s most legendary rum punch. Non-guests are welcome at the pool and restaurant for a minimum spend of US$20."
"This industrial-chic eatery has a covered patio and floor-to-ceiling doors that welcome good weather inside, all overlooking the ocean on Dominica’s east coast. Pagua Bay puts a strong emphasis on seasonal, farm-to-table fare—a commitment made trickier by Hurricane Maria’s destruction in autumn 2017. Still, the restaurant continues to serve reliable American fare with Caribbean twists, including ceviche, goat tacos, chicken Creole, and mahi-mahi salsa. Wash it all down with a frosty beer or coconut rum punch."
This happens to be the best and ONLY place to find decent food on this side of the island. We LOVE that they have great vegan options. The manager was kind enough to let us spend half a day here despite not being guests at their rooms. One of their staff members made us breakfast despite being closed until 12 pm, which we were very grateful for. The lunch was great, we especially loved the creole pasta made vegan. The juices were nice. The only feedback would be that it would be nice if you were open for breakfast, had more fresh juice options, and to train one of your staff member not to side eye or treat guests like they are bothering them (it happened rarely but still, it can ruin a great experience at your hotel). We love that the beach was near by for us to go relax in while we waited for lunch to begin. We would love to be back to stay at this guest house sometime in the future!

Beautiful view, poolside dining or under cover when it rains (which is often). Dined here 3 times, never crowded but best food I had on the island. Great customer service, food was a little slow but worth it. Prices very affordable with a variety of options and daily specials. Open 7 days/week and long hours.

Best restaurant on the east side of the island. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Great bar and food is amazing. We had the best tacos I’ve had in a long time. Ribs and wings also great. We also did take out one day. They also take credit cards. Win - win.

Love this spot! Although a little pricey but not too bad, it was incredibly delicious and you have a beautiful view of the ocean. Quiet in early October for breakfast. I ordered the everything bagel sandwich, chai latte and fresh juice of starfruit and golden apple. Everything was really tasty. Only bummer was that the espresso machine was broken so I couldn't get an actual latte but the server gave me some coffee to add. Thank you!

Top-tier dining experience. Perfectly prepared local cuisine. Fresh and deliciously seasoned. Many homemade items like yogurt, ice cream and fresh juices. This restaurant sets itself apart from all the other restaurants on the island in one word: "quality".
