Visited for a business conference. Staff was great. Food was amazing especially considering most things were served buffet style. Meats were juicy and not overcooked very surprising. Staff was friendly and rooms were really nice. Very spacious and clean. Bed slept good(when I was able to actually sleep lol). The drinks were lacking on the spiritz a bit it seemed. Would come back, price was worth it.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4.5/5 – Exceptional Service & Beautiful Resorts My husband and I spent five days at Opal Sands Resort, and the experience was truly beautiful. The property is stunning, the atmosphere relaxing, and the ability to visit their sister resort, Opal Sol, made the trip even better. Both locations treated us like VIPs from the moment we arrived. Most of the staff were outstanding. Vic at Opal Sands provided warm, attentive service every single day. And at Opal Sol, Kendall absolutely shined. Her beautiful smile, professionalism, and impeccable service elevated our entire stay. The only downside was our repeated interactions with a bartender named Megan at the Sand Bar and Seaguini. Her demeanor toward us felt uncomfortable. Avoiding eye contact, making faces, and generally seeming unwilling to serve us. In my opinion, she could benefit from training in implicit bias, especially given the high standard set by the rest of the team. Overall, we loved our stay at both Opal Sands and Opal Sol and would absolutely return. If you visit, ask for Vic or Kendall—they will take excellent care of you.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at the Opal Sands Hotel in Clearwater Beach. The staff was amazing!!! The concierge, Lucas, exceeded my expectations in making my husband's 70th birthday very special, including a "birthday tray of goodies and a card" and a fantastic upgrade on our room. (Thank you to Shelby as well at the Front Desk. I believe she had a hand in it.) Tessian from Housekeeping was super nice, as well. She kept our room spotless and made a decorative birthday cake out bath towels for my husband! Everyone at the Opal Sands gave their "A Game." Plus, the view from our room of the Gulf was spectacular. We highly recommend staying at the Opal Sands Resort and Spa. We definitely will return. Thank you Opal Sands Staff for a very memorable stay!

I had a wonderful stay at Opal Sands Resort in Clearwater. From the moment I arrived, the front desk staff was incredibly courteous and welcoming. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when I checked in, but Amy Gonzalez at the front desk truly went above and beyond to make the experience exceptional. Amy took the time to thoroughly walk me through all of the resort’s amenities, answered every question I had, and made sure I felt comfortable and excited about my stay. Her professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail genuinely made the trip so much better. I also really appreciated the local recommendations I received , they added a lot to the overall experience. Because of the level of service I received here, I’ll definitely be visiting other Opal Resorts in the future. This stay set the bar high, and the front desk team deserves major recognition for their hospitality. Highly recommend Opal Sands!

This place is amazing! The ability to use amenities at both properties made it feel even more magical. Sunsets and dolphins every evening from the balcony or pool. Amazing food options on site or close by. We loved the service (Alicia, Ivan, Stanley & Jacquelin) and hospitality. Super close to St. Petersburg for day adventures. Free bikes at the hotel made daily sunrise and coffee even better. Will definitely recommend this place to everyone.

On the plus side the hotel is clean and the beds are comfortable. The location is good. The wrist band key cards are very convenient and always worked. The service is friendly and tries to be accommodating when it can be. It’s also great that you can use the Opal Sol which has amazing fireside outdoor tables. And the trolleys are free for people with these resorts. ||The primary challenge with this hotel is that the bathroom in the room is not private. It is a sliding door with a translucent window. It does not lock and there is a gap between the door and wall so the bathroom can be seen in even when the door is “closed.” Maintenance helped us to hang a curtain but this really isn’t pleasant for families.

Opal Sands and the entire staff will forever hold a special place in my husband’s and my hearts. We worked with Alexis Weisner for our wedding at Opal Sands, and she was absolutely the best. She was kind, detail-oriented, and so easy to work with, and truly helped make our wedding day beyond special. We wanted a space close to the beach and water, and Opal Sands’ lawn space was absolutely perfect. The food was top-notch and delicious, and our room for the weekend was gorgeous. It was the perfect space for getting ready, photos, and unwinding after all the celebrations. Beyond that, the Opal Sands team truly treated us like family and made sure every part of our stay, our wedding, and our guests’ experience was exceptional. We could not have made a better choice for our wedding venue. My husband and I cannot wait to come back and stay at Opal Sands again, hopefully making it a yearly tradition to remind ourselves of the perfect day we had at such a tremendous resort.

This is a very nice hotel. Basically exactly what you would expect for a 4 star property. It’s beautiful, it’s clean, and great location. Some really nice touches with a “guest pantry” on each floor that they stock with complimentary bottled water, granola bars, fruit etc, and it changes through the day. As far I know they do this on every floor. Also at the pool they had complimentary ice cream sandwiches in the afternoon. Really nice touch! If you’re looking for a 4 star price point and experience this place should meet that! (Not 5 star like a ritz, not 3 star type of thing). Thank Opal sands for a great stay.

We had to reschedule our stay at Opal Sands Resort because our son came down with strep throat. At first, the reservations team wouldn't budge--they wanted to charge us both the cancellation fee and keep the deposit. I explained we were trying to do the right thing and avoid exposing others to a contagious illness. Only after pushing back did they agree to move the reservation. But rescheduling came with a $320 price increase. I asked if anything could be done to reduce the cost, even mentioned I'm a disabled veteran--and the answer was a firm "no" across the board. We're still going to stay in September, but the whole experience has left a bad taste in our mouths. No empathy, no flexibility, no appreciation for loyalty or military service. It's not just about the money--it's the tone and lack of care that stood out. This will be our first and last stay at Opal Sands.

The spa at Opal Sands Resort is lovely. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The waiting area is beautiful and serene. The massage room was private and comfortable. And the massage therapist was kind, professional, talented, and attentive. It was a great massage! FYI: They automatically add a 20% tip.

I stayed here for 4 days and loved every single part of it, the employees treated me great, there where security cameras so you felt safe, and most importantly the beach was fantastic, oh and don't get me started on the food (also there fries are amazing) I overall loved the experience, so I would rate it a 9.5/10.

Cancelled our stay due to family illness 48 hours before checkin & was told we must pay the entire amount of our stay. Was even willing to take a credit towards a future stay, but they wouldn't even discuss it. Stayed here w/family multiple times but never again. Will make sure to spread the word about their horrible customer service best I can. I am adding an update & changing to 4 stars because after my "campaign", the hotel accommodated my and my family's reservations to change the date. Reserving the 5th star because had I not been stubborn & diligent I know they would have been happy to take my $$$ & do nothing to rectify the situation.

Beware of HIDDEN FEES! Had spa appointments. They added a 'service charge' without notice prior to and had no explanation. No response from the business after multiple attempts. I'd rather spend money at a facility that is upfront about their charges.

Don't recommend staying here. I was actually assaulted on the property and the police were called. When they asked to see the security footage the hotel told that not all areas of the property have cameras. So the hotels answer to the problem was to kick myself and the other party out without any refund. Needless to say what type of hotel doesn't have there entire property protected with security cameras especially one that is so expensive. I am sure that this doesn't happen all the time but you would expect them to have camera coverage at their valet parking counter which is right next to their entrance.

This was our first family trip for the kids(8 & 4 yrs), the experience was amazing. The hotel is extremely kis friendly, the staff was superb in every sense. Always willing to help and tend to our wants and needs. Just to mention a few of the staff members that stood out in their excellence in service were Gary/bar, Dennis/Valet, Daynalee/frontdesk and overall all of the staff members were great. Valenzuelas.

The Opal Sands Resort offers stunning oceanfront views, free bottled water and convenience of a beach on the property as well as a pool and semi private balcony's. Recently, upon arrival at this establishment, I suffered a fall up the escalator. Carrying my things up the escalator, it was moving so fast, I could barely get myself and things on before I realized I'd fell and was now being carried along by the escalator. The concierge on duty managed to stop the escalator and I was assisted getting up and off by a kind guest. However, I was then offered a bottle of water and a coconut, instead of paperwork for an accident report. When I inquired further, and for first aid resources, all they had on hand was an anti-itch packet, as the hotel store was closed. After spending a hefty amount on this stay, plus paying for parking at 40 dollars a night, I would say, the least I could have been given was proper first aid. My body sustained several scratches, bruises and back pain, yet, nothing was ever offered to support my injury. I love this hotel and it's amenities, though I should not have to pay for a beach chair after all the resort fees paid. I also find it most difficult to believe that I was not told there was an elevator available for my use, or provided with better first aid care.
