We had the most amazing experience over Thanksgiving weekend at the Opal Sands. Ivan helped us unload our car - which was very full - to get everything into our room quickly. We were able to check in and get into our room quickly! We did Thanksgiving brunch at SeaGuini and it was amazing!! Anything you could possibly want to eat was there - breakfast, Thanksgiving staples, sushi, crab claws, etc.. Brianna at SeaGuini check-in was so sweet. There was a very small issue with our reservation and she made sure to rectify it quickly. Rich - who I assume was a manager - came over to check on us and once he heard it was our honeymoon sent up sparkling wine and dessert to our room. We were blown away at how kind and willing to go above and beyond everyone was. Amy and George at SeaGuini and Nick at Sandbar were also all lovely and made our experience truly amazing. The location was perfect for walking to pretty much any restaurant in Clearwater. And being right on the beach meant we had amazing views from our room - as well as throughout the property. Our room was very clean and spacious. I travel a good bit and this is one of the best stays I've had. Everyone we met was so friendly and we had an amazing stay. I can't speak highly enough of the Opal Sands.

The most breathtaking views from the rooms. |Rooms were spotless, clean and comfortable! ||All staff we interacted with were so friendly and welcoming. ||The pantry on each floor for fruit, cookies and water was such a nice touch! Free ice cream of an afternoon to. :) ||Cocktails and service around the pool was brilliant and so attentive! We were able to relax! ||Having the room keys on the wristband made it so much easier! ||We also went for a drink at the sister hotel opal sol which was also beautiful and staff just as good!!||There is not a thing we would have changed for our 4 night stay and would love to return one day!||Thank You

Our stay was perfect from beginning to end. Since our experience 2 1/2 years ago wasn’t as wonderful , Harrison took care of us personally. He really is an asset to your OPAL brand! Lucy in the dining room has been wonderful. She was our waitress all three mornings. She is very personable and friendly! The staff at the pool couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful! No doubt we’ll be back next year to enjoy this amazing resort experience. Thanks to everyone!

This was our second time staying at Opal Sands. The service, drinks, food & accommodations were excellent, just as it had been on our previous stay. We booked the one bedroom king room with the wrap around extended balcony (room #919). We were blown away when we entered our room. The covered balcony (with 4 rocking chairs) opens up to a spectacular open terrace with full morning sun, 2 sofas, 2 sun loungers, and an outdoor dining table for 6. The room has 1.5 baths, and you have a wall of windows leading onto the terrace and sliding doors from the livingroom & the bedroom leading out to the covered balcony. It was nothing short of spectacular!!! We enjoyed dinner at Drift at the adjoining sister property Opal Sol, and at Seagunni at Opal Sands. Both meals were amazing. And the service we received from every single staff member we came into contact with was top notch! Highly recommend! Can't wait to return!

We went in the "off season" and it was VERY quiet! They assigned us our room and when we went in we knew it wasn't the view we wanted. We had been to this resort/hotel before so we knew we wanted that inlet view! Went back down to the front desk and sheepishly asked for the room view we wanted. Kinda banked on the fact we knew it wasn't a booked soild week. Changing rooms was NO problem and they didn't make us feel bad for asking!||Staff is top notch! Always asking if we were ok, did we need anything. Friendly staff who was willing to chit chat or make themselves scarce when it was obviously time to move on. Housekeeping was good the first few days, but GREAT the last few days! Called for a fresh robe and towels...they brought 2 robes and probably 10 towels haha!||Pools/hot tubs at both Sands & Sol were clean. Loved being able to have access to both hotels and their amenities! Staff at Sol were awesome also!

My girlfriend and I stayed at Opal Sands Resort in Clearwater Beach last week, and it was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment we arrived, the customer service was top-tier—every staff member we encountered was warm, professional, and genuinely committed to making our stay memorable. A special shoutout to the front desk team who went above and beyond to help us overnight a package from home—a cell phone we desperately needed. Their quick thinking and support made a potentially stressful situation completely seamless. The resort itself is stunning, with modern, spacious rooms that offer breathtaking views of the Gulf. We especially loved the thoughtful amenities: each floor has a complimentary snack pantry (a lifesaver after beach time!), and the daily 2:00 PM ice cream social was a sweet surprise that added a fun, nostalgic touch to our afternoons. The pool and hot tub area were immaculate and relaxing, perfect for unwinding after exploring the beach. Dining options on-site were excellent, with fresh seafood and creative cocktails that made every meal feel special. “SeaGuini” makes their pasta in house and our server, Francesco was very charming. Opal Sands truly exceeded our expectations. Whether you're looking for a romantic getaway or a luxurious beach escape, this resort delivers in every way. We can't wait to return!

Staying here was a special treat from my husband that we usually don't have extra funds to splurge on and we loved absolutely everything about this place and cannot wait to stay again! He definitely made the perfect choice choosing Opal Sands! The valet parking guys were so efficient and kind and never left us waiting at all. The view was absolutely incredible and the room was so cozy and clean. The bed, pillows and robes were heavenly and housekeeping made sure we had everything we needed our entire stay, Breakfast was delicious and the pool and hot tub were spotlessly clean and so inviting. The only slightly disappointing part was that we weren't informed we could use the hot tub and pools of the sister resort as well which has a skywalk that connects the 2 resorts. Another guest had told us about that on our last day but it still didn't take away from our experience as a whole. We cannot wait to come stay again!

What a great experience! This was my first time at Opal Sands and I was pleasantly surprised with the hotel! It was beautifully done, the rooms were spacious, clean, and the view was incredible! Loved the nice surprise of a pantry on each floor stocked with water, snacks, and fresh cookies at 2pm. Also the ice cream cart poolside was such a treat! Staff was kind and accommodating and the shops were well stocked with great boutique items. We enjoyed our overnight stay so much they we re-booked for my kids fall break in two weeks. Well done Opal Sands!!

Yelp
We had to reschedule our stay at Opal Sands Resort because our son came down with strep throat. At first, the reservations team wouldn't budge--they wanted to charge us both the cancellation fee and keep the deposit. I explained we were trying to do the right thing and avoid exposing others to a contagious illness. Only after pushing back did they agree to move the reservation. But rescheduling came with a $320 price increase. I asked if anything could be done to reduce the cost, even mentioned I'm a disabled veteran--and the answer was a firm "no" across the board. We're still going to stay in September, but the whole experience has left a bad taste in our mouths. No empathy, no flexibility, no appreciation for loyalty or military service. It's not just about the money--it's the tone and lack of care that stood out. This will be our first and last stay at Opal Sands.

Yelp
The spa at Opal Sands Resort is lovely. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The waiting area is beautiful and serene. The massage room was private and comfortable. And the massage therapist was kind, professional, talented, and attentive. It was a great massage! FYI: They automatically add a 20% tip.

Yelp
Opal Spa - great experience! If you want an excellent deep tissue massage, book with Tonya, she was awesome!

Yelp
Cancelled our stay due to family illness 48 hours before checkin & was told we must pay the entire amount of our stay. Was even willing to take a credit towards a future stay, but they wouldn't even discuss it. Stayed here w/family multiple times but never again. Will make sure to spread the word about their horrible customer service best I can. I am adding an update & changing to 4 stars because after my "campaign", the hotel accommodated my and my family's reservations to change the date. Reserving the 5th star because had I not been stubborn & diligent I know they would have been happy to take my $$$ & do nothing to rectify the situation.

Yelp
Beware of HIDDEN FEES! Had spa appointments. They added a 'service charge' without notice prior to and had no explanation. No response from the business after multiple attempts. I'd rather spend money at a facility that is upfront about their charges.

Yelp
Safe, modern, and great. I stayed here for 4 days and loved every single part of it, the employees treated me great, there where security cameras so you felt safe, and most importantly the beach was fantastic, oh and don't get me started on the food (also there fries are amazing) I overall loved the experience, so I would rate it a 9.5/10.

Yelp
Don't recommend staying here. I was actually assaulted on the property and the police were called. When they asked to see the security footage the hotel told that not all areas of the property have cameras. So the hotels answer to the problem was to kick myself and the other party out without any refund. Needless to say what type of hotel doesn't have there entire property protected with security cameras especially one that is so expensive. I am sure that this doesn't happen all the time but you would expect them to have camera coverage at their valet parking counter which is right next to their entrance.

Yelp
Love this beautiful hotel. Everything and everyone were awesome. My only suggestion is to turn the music down a bit at the pool.

Yelp
This was our first family trip for the kids(8 & 4 yrs), the experience was amazing. The hotel is extremely kis friendly, the staff was superb in every sense. Always willing to help and tend to our wants and needs. Just to mention a few of the staff members that stood out in their excellence in service were Gary/bar, Dennis/Valet, Daynalee/frontdesk and overall all of the staff members were great. Valenzuelas.

Yelp
The Opal Sands Resort offers stunning oceanfront views, free bottled water and convenience of a beach on the property as well as a pool and semi private balcony's. Recently, upon arrival at this establishment, I suffered a fall up the escalator. Carrying my things up the escalator, it was moving so fast, I could barely get myself and things on before I realized I'd fell and was now being carried along by the escalator. The concierge on duty managed to stop the escalator and I was assisted getting up and off by a kind guest. However, I was then offered a bottle of water and a coconut, instead of paperwork for an accident report. When I inquired further, and for first aid resources, all they had on hand was an anti-itch packet, as the hotel store was closed. After spending a hefty amount on this stay, plus paying for parking at 40 dollars a night, I would say, the least I could have been given was proper first aid. My body sustained several scratches, bruises and back pain, yet, nothing was ever offered to support my injury. I love this hotel and it's amenities, though I should not have to pay for a beach chair after all the resort fees paid. I also find it most difficult to believe that I was not told there was an elevator available for my use, or provided with better first aid care.

Yelp
Just finished the best massage I have ever had. Heather was an angel with golden hands. Her technique was out of this world. I never had a more relaxing massage. A++++. Heather is a rockstar!!!
