"Cooper's Island Nature Reserve Birders, hikers, and all manner of nature lovers score big with a visit to this former NASA tracking station and U.S. naval base on the northeast coast of Bermuda . Despite its name, Cooper's Island is no longer an island, having been connected to St. David's Island via land reclamation since the 1940s. While the U.S. military has moved on, the wildlife sanctuary is still home to the base of a radar tower that tracked shuttle movements in the early days of the Space Race. Today, the 12-acre reserve is crisscrossed with paths and fringed with pristine beaches. Of particular note is Clearwater Beach, which teems with conch and turtles. Inland, a restored lake and marshland are home to crabs and seabirds. The former radar tower makes an ideal perch for bird-watching."

Our one day visit and we had stop In here but it’s worth visiting and give our one hour to this location….. Cooper's Island is a hidden gem that includes a great trail connecting several beaches, all with their own attractiveness. It is a great way to see gorgeous views, take a pleasant walk on the short trail around the island to the secluded Long Bay Beach to as far as the Cooper's Observation Tower. Then, relax on the perfect Turtle Bay sand beach before finishing by enjoying a walk along Clearwater Beach...looking for turtles and seashells. Very beautiful and definitely worth visiting either through one of the many excursions or by car. It was very quiet, but I can imagine it getting fairly busy at other times pf the year. Take the trail and enjoy the views!

Absolutely the very best beach in all of Bermuda. I have visited a lot of beaches in my life and Coopers Island are by far the best.

It was a beautiful walk with amazing views! The lookout tower was very cool. A must see if you're visiting! The beaches near by are all great for swimming and snorkeling too!

A bit of a walk from bike area. Peaceful. Beautiful beach with few people. Food and drink at Clearwater before you get to Coopers Island.

Absolutely amazing. One of the coolest places I've ever been. Lots of beaches ideal for swimming, White-tailed Tropicbirds flying everywhere, lush blue water, black rocks, flora.

You need to walk a little, but the reward is there at the end, when you arrive at the beach. There are one on either side of the reserve. So if one is more rocky, the other would be calm. You can choose a walking trail in the wood also. It start from the Clearwater beach by the road and goes to well bay. If you go by tho path you will see some old NASA bunkers hidden in the wood along your path.
