Baja Off the Grid Coastal Vacation Homes & Events

One of the best kept secrets on the west coast. We chose this unique destination as a quick drive from San Diego for our anniversary. Truly a magical spot perched atop cliffs overlooking the mighty Pacific Ocean in a secluded yet secure setting along the Baja Peninsula near the city of Ensenada. As the name aptly says, this place is "off the grid" and not your typical vacation rental. From the moment you enter and begin climbing up the private road with 24/7 live security guards, you will immediately feel and see the particular beauty of the area. Upon reaching the destination, we were greeted by one of the hosts, Kristina, who gave us a warm welcome and reassuring sense of hospitality and comfort as she offers a full overview of not only the property, but all the various activities and resources within the area. Once you enter the home itself, your breath will momentarily be taken away as you stand in amazement in attempt to take in the magnitude of the views and setup to spend the next few days meditating in your own private coastal nature and glamping retreat. Specifically, we stayed at the Panoramic Chalet, which offers an intimate setup for less guests but has views along every corner of the home, including one of the beds where you can sleep under the stars while waking to a peaceful view overlooking the ocean from high enough to see for seemingly forever, yet close enough to hear the relaxing sounds of the waves forming tide pools directly below along the rocks lining the cliffs. There is also a full kitchen, conveniently giving us the option of packing rations in advance to consume without the need to drive back into town. We were able to spend our days enjoying the endless views and resetting mentally and spiritually, along with partaking in a few of the local hiking trails around the property that offer various sights. As you watch the tranquil sun set over the horizon to the west, on a clear night you will next be met with the chance to stargaze into the Milky Way and beyond. Overall, words will not do this place justice. For those looking for a chance to connect with nature, Baja Off the Grid will make you forget all your stress, and time feel like it has come to a pause. The uniqueness of the property itself as a vacation rental, along with a host like Kristina with her communication and efforts to make our stay as memorable and comfortable as possible, are all major reasons why we can't wait to plan our next visit back to Baja Off the Grid in the near future as a routine vacation destination.

What an incredible vacation! We stayed in the villa and had the most amazing time. The grounds are absolutely stunning, there’s no way for pictures to do it justice. The staff was very welcoming and attentive to any needs and were very helpful suggesting great places to eat and things to do in the area. We needed a getaway and I feel so lucky to stumble soon Baja Off the Grid. Highly recommend and we can’t wait to return!

This hotel is one of the most special places we’ve ever stayed. Heavenly views, extremely comfortable bedding and furniture, everything you’d need in the kitchen, incredible service, gorgeous grounds, and the food you can get delivered is just exceptional (get the ceviche!). I have been going to Baja off the Grid for a few years now. Their property and views are out of this world. The natural beauty is by far the best I’ve experienced in Baja. My fiancé and I tend to stay in the Mirador as this unit has breath taking views. We love watching the sunsets in bed and enjoying one another’s company. The service we have received from their staff is top notch and they are always willing to help to make our stay as memorable as possible. They always have great ideas and fun activities that we can do during our stays. If you are looking for a great experience and want to be in touch with nature I highly recommend Baja of the Grid.

This glamping retreat was incredible. The views were fantastic, the inside decore was simple yet stunning for the theme, and you had the perfect amount of amenities. The host, Jose Luis, was the best host I’ve ever had, he took us on a scenic paddle boarding experience, and he was always attentive to what we needed. This was the perfect birthday weekend spent! I went horseback riding, paddle boarding at the beach/bay, I went hiking every morning, and the best part was, they’re all close to the house. I would 100% go back, and will, I would definitely recommend this retreat to anyone I come across to. The views of the place were spectacular, I just can’t get over how amazing this place was. If I could give this place a 10/10, I would on every platform, this is definitely a hidden gem that I think everyone should experience.

We stayed in the Avacadome and loved it! It's so nice to enjoy this part of Baja is a more quiet way, far from the more standard touristic offerings but still very accessible. Avacadome is a cozy and cute. Kristina is a great host -- easy to contact and with good recommendations. We look forward to coming back soon!

This place is an absolute hidden gem. The views and location are second to none, had one of the most relaxing experiences enjoying the views and exploring the near by tide pools. The host is great and super accommodating, the perfect getaway spot.

Baja Off the Grid is an absolutely spectacular spot. My boyfriend and I stayed there for a long weekend and fell in love immediately. The views are breathtaking and the house was designed to make the most of it. There is such a relaxing vibe and we were totally able to disconnect. But the house is also just a short walk to fun eateries and bars. I can't wait to return!!
