Flavoured toffee candies with fillings. Best eaten in Japan! We bought some as souvenirs but the wrapped turned oily due to the humidity, tasted better in Japan! Favourite flavours are the Chocolate, Rum & Raisin and Matcha. The Butter Scotch candy was also pretty yummy, its a hard candy and not too sweet. Location of the shop was not easy to find, quite secluded.

NUMBER SUGAR is a famous candy shop that sells hand made caramels only. Their signature product is caramel in 12 different flavors with specific number assigned to each flavor. The caramel is delicious. However, if you would like to buy them, remember to come early as the candy sold out in very short time. Although the shop opens at 11am and closes at 7pm, it’s best to visit before 12pm as the stock won’t last long. My first visit at 4pm ended up in front of a closed store.

We walked by this candy shop on our way to a flea market near by. It was around 11am. I purchased a small bag full, two of each….ginger, mango, and salated caramel were delicious. The store was starting to get busy when we left (15 min after). There are a few tables and chairs located outside, so we sat down for a bit and tried the caramels.

The shop is very sophisticated and nice presentation. It's good sovenior or gift when you want to buy something special for your friends or family. Their packages are very neat and beautiful. Also, you can just get one for your treat. The caramel is very rich, fresh and melty!

Number sugar is very famous and popular in Japan. It’s not very long lining up on weekend afternoon. When I got in at 2pm, they are almost sold out. Not just tourists, local Japanese also adore this brand. There are many flavors and they also offer set package for people who are always annoyed to choose their favorite. This branch shop has shop limited flavor, like Miso and brown sugar. I would like to visit this shop again when I come back.

Soooo yummy! These make such great souvenirs. Be prepared to queue up to even get into the shop (this was mid Dec 2023... I assume it is not like this during other times of the year)

I tried the Number 4 (Chocolate) in front of the store and can’t help finding it overrated and gimmicky.
