The 28 Best Hotels in Buenos Aires for Foodies, Tango Enthusiasts, and Architecture Lovers | Condé Nast Traveler

"Sleek and instantly comfortable, this Palermo Hollywood favorite wears black, graphite, and red with simple‑chic modern furnishings. Past the restaurant, a leafy garden sets the scene for breakfast on sunny mornings. Splurge on a balcony suite overlooking the back garden for extra quiet; wherever you sleep, large plush beds and blackout curtains promise a great night, and while bathrooms run small, the water pressure is strong." - Celeste Moure

Fierro Hotel, Buenos Aires, Argentina - Hotel Review | Condé Nast Traveler

"How did it strike you on arrival? With its sleek vibe in black, graphite and red, and modern furnishings that are simple but chic, Fierro is the kind of hotel in which you feel instantly comfortable. On the ground floor, past the restaurant, is a garden with leafy trees and little tables where breakfast is served on sunny mornings. On the rooftop is a nice pool that's small, but goes a long way in beating the heat on sticky days. The good stuff: Tell us about your room. Splurge on a balcony suite, which overlooks the back garden and is more quiet than those that look out to the street. No matter which room you end up in, the large plush bed and blackout curtains will deliver a good night's sleep. The bathrooms are small, but at least the water pressure is good and strong. How about the little things, like mini bar, or shower goodies? Rooms feature well-stocked minibars with local wines, Nespresso machines, and free WiFi. Anything stand out about other services and features? Whether it’s childcare, gyms, spas, even parking—whatever stuck with you. Uco Restaurant, where the kitchen staff cure, dry, smoke, and bake everything in-house, is a delightful surprise. Helped by the informed, amiable staff, guests see the sights by day, and return at dusk to the rooftop plunge pool, or to sip Mendoza Malbec in the walled garden. Bottom line: worth it, and why? Modern decor, a great staff, an excellent restaurant, and great location make this hotel a great choice for an even better price." - Celeste Moure

This is one of my favourite hotels in the world. The location is perfect. They have some of the friendliest and most helpful staff I've ever come across. The coffee at the restaurant is one of the best coffees I've ever had and the breakfast was fresh and delicious. The attention to detail is incredible and the hotel is immaculately maintained. The rooms/suites are very big and we loved the heated pool. Especially loved the wine fridge in our suite. Would highly recommend and happily return!

I went to Buenos Aires to run the marathon in September There is not many hotel nearby that offer good accommodation as well as good resturant to carb load! I’m glad I stay at this hotel! Room was spacious with good shower! The temperature was easily adjustable and was quiet at night! The breakfast was great and there were plenty of good restaurant nearby! Staff can all speak English and is full of enthusiasm to help one to get round for sightseeing! Plenty of market around to get your banana and energy drink! Can’t recommend this hotel enough!

Google
A wonderful retreat from a bustling city. The luxurious breakfast is just one of its best features -- the wine list is another --- at VERY reasonable prices and with generous pours from the lovely staff. The staff are fantastic too: available, super friendly, super helpful, knowledgeable and supportive at all hours of day and night. Large rooms with very comfortable beds, and the bathrooms also have everything one needs including strong blowdryers and excellent water pressure. This is on top of a very good value!

Google
Fierro hotel was excellent and we highly recommend. They contacted us prior to arrival offering to help with tours and restaurant recommendations which was a pleasant surprise. They arranged a private day tour to the Tigre delta which was excellent and the tour operator delivered us to the airport for our evening flight which was very convenient. We ate dinner at the Fierro and the steak was awesome. Likewise the breakfast included with the room was excellent.

Google
A really excellent place to stay in Buenos Aires, especially for first-time travelers. The location was a charming, quiet street, with lots of shops and restaurants nearby, and a lovely coffee-shop directly next door. Walking distance to the Subte, markets, kioskos, and just about anything else you would need. Every single member of the staff I interacted with was genuinely kind, friendly and helpful. The rooms are lovely, well-maintained, clean, etc. The breakfast was a hearty delight. There's a lovely planted garden patio out back, and a pool on the roof.

Google
What an amazing property! Large comfortable and stylish rooms and an amazing breakfast to go with the over the top friendly, helpful and accommodating staff! Location was great for walking around Palermo with lots of bars and restaurants and shops close by. Everyone from the front desk, breakfast servers and bar staff were such a pleasure. I would definitely stay here again.

Google
Truly a wonderful boutique hotel! Everything from the quality of the food in the restaurant, to the rooms, the bed, the attentiveness & professionalism of the staff, the decor, the location, and the overall experience is EXCELLENT! I stayed at the Fierro 9 years ago and just returned for 4 nights and it was just as great now as it was then, perhaps even better! I look forward to returning again on my next trip.

Google
Service above all else. I cannot thank you enough, Laura, Roberto, all the staff. Hotel had everything I needed. Soft bed and comfy environment. Power outlets for USB, various country plug adapters, the bar, the terrace, and the Cuba Libre’s…. #1 hotel team in CABA. Go River Plate!

Yelp
Fierro Hotel Palermo Argentina owes us NOTHING!! Our flight got in around 9am and check wasn't until 3pm but they were actually able to accommodate us upon arrival which was just the start to an AWESOME vacation! Location A+, Hotel was clean, SUPER cute, the service and meals in the restaurant was fantastic! Victoria- The Barista made the BEST coffee, and service with a smile by Tania, Augustina & Antonella made my morning each and every day...and of course Coral and Hernan at the front desk was always a pleasure to speak with. The overall team gave restaurant and attraction suggestion and were available at any time throughout the day! Thank your hospitality! I can't say not wait to visit again.

Yelp
These folks went so above and beyond. The restaurant was excellent and all employees were so helpful and kind. The room was lovely. Just one thing--the Soler-facing rooms are on the party bus route, so if you're staying there over a weekend, ask for a quiet room!

Yelp
Grace Under Pressure..... The coronavirus pandemic changed many things around the world. One of the effects directly impacted my wife and I. We were scheduled to stay at the Fierro Hotel for 3 nights in mid March, but when an announcement was made on Thursday, March 12th, indicating international flights out of the airport in Buenos Aires were ending at 12 AM, Monday morning March 16th, we scrambled to get back to the US before the gates closed. Employees at the Fierro Hotel could not have been more accommodating. Although the situation in Buenos Aires was like most of the world...filled with uncertainty and confusion...they promptly replied to all e-mails in a clear and courteous manner. My wife and I had non-refundable reservations so, at first, we were promised a cash refund of 90% of our cost or a 100% credit if used within a year. Eventually, we received a 100% refund posted directly to our US bank account. Throughout this process and the slow restoration of the financial system in Argentina, people at the Fierro Hotel maintained a professional, yet warm relationship. We would not hesitate staying there in the future and, in fact, look forward to the chance to do so after the world settles into more stable circumstances.

Yelp
The bottom line: You know how Yelp says "As good as it gets!" when you click 5 stars to write a review? That's exactly it. And to use some slang I overheard, tenía buena onda :). Genuinely friendly recepción: Roberto made the check-in process easy, anticipating all questions I might have. He's the sort of amiable guy who'd readily offer his pen if you forgot one and started doing what I call a purse swirl for it. In fact, I brought the wrong adapter, and in a mere minute, he delivered one. He also remembered my early call time for work, and offered to deliver a condensed version of the breakfast to my room. Andrés was just as easy to converse with, helpful, and kind. It was clear he was experienced in hospitality. Florencia was so prompt in responding to my e-mails before my trip, and Ana was also lovely in helping me check out. Hospitable details: Adjustable lighting - do you only want your dining table lighted? You got it. A large bottle of water is given to you + the weather is written down for you by your bedside. Impeccably clean, down to the wine glasses ready for a bottle you choose from the fridge - and there are 6...chosen by the in-house sommelier, who also hosts wine tastings for guests most nights. The pool and sauna are upstairs w. helpful notes and towels set out for you. Though Uco is another entity, it's so worth mentioning the Uco prix-fixe dinner and their *delicious breakfasts that spoil you from medialuna to morcilla. WiFi was speedy for my unending business e-mail. And what, pray tell, is that perfect scent that welcomes you as the security guy opens the door? Thanks for being splendid, Fierro. You so honorably represented Buenos Aires to this silly American businesswoman.

Yelp
This review is a long time coming...I was in Buenos Aires last fall and had the most incredible stay on 2 separate occasions. My first stay was scouting for our film and I was so impressed that I booked my crew there for the shoot (last October 2019). (*They are located in the heart of Palermo - one of the coolest neighborhoods in BA - you can walk to several top restaurants and shops.) The rooms are modern and beautiful with great views and have all of the amenities - stocked wine fridge, Nespresso machine, stocked snack fridge and basket, rain shower, a nice big work desk and a comfortable seating area for meetings and relaxing. The restaurant was excellent and accommodated our off-schedule meal times every day which was truly appreciated by everyone on the crew. They also have a beautiful wine bar/list that I thoroughly enjoyed working my way down with the guidance of their beautiful restaurant/bar manager. I highly recommend the Hotel Fierro and will definitely be back on my next trip to BA - hopefully soon! Thank you again to Juan and the entire team!

Yelp
Began our 2 week Patagonia trekking adventure with a stop in BA at this lovely boutique hotel in Palermo neighborhood. The front desk and restaurant staff were very pleasant and very responsive. They were quick to assist with any request and many we didn't even know to ask. The front desk gave many recommendations to make our quick weekend in BA wonderful. The bar made excellent drinks as well as served a great breakfast. We did not book their wine tasting(not enough time), but it looked great. Rooms were perfect and modern. The shower was the best part of the room! I highly recommend a stay at Fierro! We will be back.

Yelp
We had one night in BA, and I knew we wanted to stay in the Palermo neighbourhood. I spent awhile going back and forth on which hotel, but figured I'd get the most bang for my buck at this boutique hotel and booked the top floor suite. Sadly our flight was 4+ hours delayed so we didn't get to take full advantage of the balcony hot tub, and wine that came with the room, but we still appreciated the place. Front staff was truly amazing, and I found them to be friendly and enthusiastic. They were great at giving directions when we headed out to find an ATM with cash amidst a bank strike lol. Breakfast at the downstairs hotel was included and was REALLY good! Sad I wasn't able to enjoy a dinner there, cause this breakfast really stood out to me!

Yelp
I was very happy with my stay at Fierro Hotel. Spent two nights there during a business trip to Buenos Aires, where I was able to enjoy a comfy bed and a delicious shower and relax after a long day working. This hotel is located on the old side of Palermo, so you have a small walk to get to most restaurants and bars, but the neighborhood is safe and flat so you will have a very enjoyable walk for sure. It's also walking distance to Uruguay metro station and major streets in Buenos Aires. Stayed in room 24. There was a spacious double bed, a desk with two chairs, a Nespresso machine (with capsules at 25 pesos for sale), an electric kettle, a safe inside the wardrobe, and an amazing shower head. WiFi was decent and worked with the same password all over the building. Everyday they would print the water forecast and leave on the top of the bed, they also brought a water bottle and a few chocolates as a courtesy. Breakfast was included in the room rate and served at UCO restaurant, they have three different options of meals to be chosen from the menu: scrambled eggs, pancakes, fruit plate or a daily special. Receptionist and concierge services were very kind. Upon arrival they send you a link with a interactive map from the neighborhood and a few suggestions to eat and shop. Most of them speak English and were able to help my colleagues and I whenever we needed it. I know there is a swimming pool and a sauna on the 7th floor but I didn't have the opportunity to visit neither. Would definitely stay here again, and recommend it to other people. My only issues with Fierro were: -- A lot of noise at night. I could hear people walking, doors closing and random noises from other floors as if they were inside my room. -- There isn't a working area where my colleagues and I could feel comfortable to do training or meetings. UCO is a private restaurant so not an appropriate place to spend an entire afternoon working. Perhaps having some sort of Business Center or a small living room would solve this issue. One afternoon my colleagues and I spent working from my room, and used the mugs and cups. At night when I came back, I noticed someone came inside the room to leave the chocolate and the forecast, however the mess and dirty dishes were still there. -- My room had some sort of issue with the toilet and I kept hearing water running all day long.

Yelp
Great little boutique hotel. Amazing service and amenities for such a small place. Just hold your expectations on check in and check out. They are a boutique. Relax you are on vacation. This isn't a massive Sheraton or something. Have some wine and food if the restaurant is open or go upstairs to the pool (small) but amazing bathroom shower of your room is not ready. Breakfast is good as well.

Yelp
I really liked my stay at the Fierro Hotel, for several reasons: - The staff there is really friendly and help you with anything you may need during your stay; - My room was very nice and really big (I live in London, where hotel rooms are usually the size of a closet) - The hotel is located in Palermo Hollywood, which I prefer over Palermo Soho, as it is calmer; there's a good selection of coffee shops, bars and restaurants nearby and the metro station to downtown is also within walking distance. - The restaurant is top-notch and well-know throughout Buenos Aires and especially their Happy Hour is well-liked by the trendy Porteños. What lead me to the Fierro Hotel in the first place is their well-curated blog about insider tips on Buenos Aires (insidebuenosaires.com). And when I just recently looked at the blog, I saw a guest entry of the tour guide I'd used during my stay: Chance Miller. (Highly recommend him.) Note: given the the difference between the blue dollar and the official exchange rate, I suggest you bring Dollars into the country and then go to a trusted "cueva" where you can have your money exchanged at a more favourable rate. The hotel concierge will point you to a trusted source...

Yelp
The staff were friendly and helpful from the moment we booked until the time we left. The hotel restaurant, Uco, serves really great breakfasts; it's worth booking dinner there too. We stayed for five days and would definitely stay here again. Good location close to transit.

Yelp
By far the best hotel in the globe...so far! A very Arty hotel set in a really cool end of BA! Set of just of the main highway in Palermo Hollywood. If you didn't know you would walk right past it! The breakfast...wow! The service...amazing The restaurant...a must It's a small hotel but the Heated rooftop pool fits perfectly. The location just a few mins walk from Palermo Soho but fear not there is so much in Hollywood if you didn't want to leave. Rooms are spacious with an extensive mini bar. The Bed is extremely comfortable. This is the hotel you are looking for when in BA!

Yelp
Top end hotel with all the touches that make it stand out from the rest. Plus points - * top end restaurant. * amazing breakfast. * great location. * heated rooftop jacuzzi pool. * good location. * friendly helpful staff. * great decor in the rooms. * Turn down service that leaves you chocolate by your bed. * free water everyday in room. Bad - * nothing Top class hotel, you can't go wrong.

Yelp
This is by far the best hotel in Buenos Aires. Close to the night life, hipodromo and Palermo polo. The hotel is clean, modern and nicely decorated. The staff is very courteous and attentive. Everyone speaks English too. They think of everything there. I highly recommend this hotel.

Yelp
The hotel is exactly what you want from a boutique hotel. Great shower, comfortable bed and nice pillows. Add the great service and free wine tasting and there is no reason not to stay here. The breakfast is awesome with delicious "media lunas" aka croissants and an Irish breakfast with bomb morcilla and crispy ham. Palermo Hollywood is the new hot spot so plenty of bars and restaurants near by. Do yourself a favor and stay here as opposed to a chain or something in Puerto Madero!

Yelp
I stayed recently with two other friends this June. The room had wooden floors (I hate carpet), three beds (which were super comfy/nice pillows) and a nice tile shower with rain showerhead. Our room overlooked the hotel backyard and the Palermo Hollywood neighborhood rooftops. The spa and heated pool on the roof is amazing, the temperature was in the 50's when we went so we had it all to ourselves. Perfect walking neighborhood- very close to the vintage market, palermo soho market, café's, and a bunch of restaurants and other shopping opportunities.

Yelp
(I have dual citizenship, from Argentina and the US, this review is mostly for the tourists). Hey, we looked up their restaurant website, which said one thing, but when we went there the story was completely different. Firstly, Hernan Gipponi is no more their chef, a fact not visible anywhere. Secondly, you get only a tasting menu, no other options. Their prices are a tad stiff for locals, normal for tourists. The pairing was good, the dishes correct. And that's the end of this story. Looking for something awesome? keep looking, hard to find in today's Argentina restaurant scene.

Yelp
We stayed here in January 2014 and loved it. They were awesome! Get the Jacuzzi room if you can. We barely wanted to leave the hotel. When we did leave the hotel staff was incredibly helpful with sightseeing and entertainment advice. Victoria at the front desk was an angel. The restaurant there was also very good.
