Staff was great: welcoming and attentive, but that is all I can complement the place with. It is all very basic as expected (the affordable costs give it out) however the mattresses were really hard that I found it difficult to sleep on, the double bed were 2 separate ones and the bathroom need med refurbishing! The air conditioning worked well and it was clean. Noise was another nuisance: not only can you hear every guest passing by the corridor or opening their own doors, the place is located just above bars where people stay out until early morning … to then pass the baton to the street maintenance and those collecting recycled waste as of 5 am- very central but clearly not quiet.

Excellent location and very reasonably priced room. The room and bathroom were very clean, linen and towels were also very fresh. Excellent shower. The reception was friendly. The bed was okay but could be a little bit more comfortable. They have double windows to prevent noise and we noticed that it worked as the bar opposite was full in the evening but we were not disturbed by the noise. There was some noise from the street in the morning that we heard (garbage collection i guess) but i don't think the hostal could do anything about it. Overall would definitely recommend the hostal

|Charming room, very clean. The location was excellent, just down the street from plaza mayor. The room rate was very affordable. The hostal was one floor up from the ground floor, but there was a small elevator. The desk was not staffed after 8 pm, but it was easy to let yourself in with a key to,the building and also the hostal on the upper floor. It is a simple place with no breakfast facilities, but the room was very pleasant and comfortable, except for street noise issues. The price of 35 euro a night is unbeatable.||The only real problem was the high level of noise coming from the bar across the narrow street late at night. I am used to,a fair amount of street noise, but this place just would get going around 11 pm and would go until 1:00 or 2:00 am. The crowd of what seemed to be mainly students, spilled out into the street, it was like having a huge frat party going on right under your windows, and this was on two subsequent weeknights. I am not sure if there was something special going on, or if this sort of crowd is the norm on the streets of Segovia. I closed the large wooden shutters to keep out some of the noise (it was late Sept. And a bit cool at night, so it was not uncomfortable), but you could still hear the noise in the street. This may not be a problem with rooms that do not look over the street. This the only reason I gave the hostal a four rather than five rating.

This hostal was fantastic, more like a hotel. The location is great and yes it is a little noisy with the bar across the street but I'm sure some ear plugs would fix that. Our room was huge and the staff were so helpful and friendly. ||It was a little hard to find and we took advantage of the parking on offer for 17euro, it was so much easier.||The beds were extremely comfortable. I would stay here again for sure and it's well worth it as it has everything that a hotel has but for a great price

There are a few strong reasons as to why we enjoyed our stay so much. First and foremost, the staff. They were all extremely nice and willing to help as much as possible. As for the place itself, it is not too spectacular, but it satisfied the expectations we had based on the descriptions. Furthermore, it is very close to everything in Segovia. Definitely a very positive experience!

Stayed here for two nights, end of October, happy with what I had for the money. Nice room, very clean, and close to everything you want to see. Yes, it is noisy in the street, but you are in Spain, and in my experience, it aint never going to be quiet, when they party !!! I was overlooking the street ( my choice ) I was woken , but had a reasonable nights sleep. It's a lovely old building, the staff were nice, and the bed was comfortable, if you don't mind a bit of noise, it's an ideal choice. One thing, if you are going to have a beer, drink in the bars on the street, not in the square, lot cheaper. Segovia is stunning, and well worth staying for a night, I would stay there again.

Hostal Fornos is a little hostel on the second floor of a tenement. The reception closes at 8pm, however you can get the keys at the bar opposite the hotel. The stuff is professionally friendly, yet does not speak anything but Spanish. ||The two nights we stayed at Hostal Fornos were a mixed experience. Considering the price we paid, the great location right by the Plaza Mayor and the clean air-conditioned rooms were a steal. The hostel also provided a cot for the baby, which was really nice and cannot be taken for granted. Unfortunately there were also some considerable downsides. One of them was the sleep quality - the street where the hotel is located has several restaurants and bars which remain open most of the night. It was not all too bad, but light sleepers should at least ask for a room on the other side.||Our main disappointment was the incorrect information on the website considering parking. One of the reasons we chose the hotel in the first place was that, according to the website, it would provide parking, which was quite relevant to us in our situation. When we inquired about it at the hotel, we were told to better park outside the city center in a free open air car park from where it's just a 10-minute climb to the hotel. The other option was having somebody park our car somewhere (leaving the car keys) for 17 euro per day. Not quite what we had in mind when we saw that the hotel provided parking.

This hostal is in the historic center of Segovia, just minutes' walk to the plaza, cathedral, aqueduct and Alcazar. The rooms are pleasant and bright. The bathrooms are clean and spacious. Plus, they had a bathtub, which is rare to find in Spanish hostals. We were staying there during the 2012 Eurocup Championship when Spain won. The first night, we noticed that there were a lot of bars nearby. We asked to be moved to an interior room for the second night when all the celebrating took place. Fortunately, they were able to accommodate us. We were also amazed at how quickly the streets were cleaned the morning after. This hostal had all the things I look for: inexpensive price, clean, well-situated. I would stay here again.
