I tried Yard House for the first time for lunch while I was in the area recently. Overall, I'm pretty impressed by this Darden concept and I can see why it's a popular choice for dining on I-Drive.
Their menu selection is very large with all types of cuisine - pizza, tacos, steak, seafood, gourmet salads, sandwiches, burgers, bowls... the list goes on. This is the definition of "something for everyone" on the menu, including vegans, gluten sensitive folks, or even the pickiest of eaters. I was a little overwhelmed by the menu at first, but they also have a digital screen on all the tables where you can scroll through and see photos of every dish, which I thought was very cool and helpful.
Luckily, I was dining with a friend who had been there before and she suggested the ahi crunchy tuna salad or any of their ahi tuna dishes. She also ordered the Wisconsin cheese curds to start which are served with a honey hot sauce and horseradish aioli. Wow, these were super delish and addicting.
For my lunch, I went with the "everything crusted" ahi tuna sandwich, but instead of a bun, I got a lettuce wrap. The tuna was fresh and I really enjoyed the sesame crust. It was seared perfectly rare and topped with shiitake mushrooms and a white truffle sauce. I ended up fork & knifing it because the lettuce bun fell apart pretty quickly, but it was still yummy. I also upgraded to the truffle parmesan fries as my side which were pretty good.
If you're a beer drinker, then they pride themselves on having the world's largest selection of draft beer. I'll definitely keep Yard House in mind for the future when I'm in the I-Drive area.
