Absolutely amazing stadium, on the waters edge and catching a sunset game is bliss. I took the family here when on holidays in Japan to catch the Chiba City Lotte Marines play.
This place has a really great buzz, easy to get about, I don’t speak any Japanese but getting in was a breeze, really good merchandise store and plenty of food trucks and food inside.
Some tips,
- Definitely take a hat and sunnies if your catching an afternoon game.
- For tourists, you should follow the locals and be prepared wear masks as precautionary courtesy.
- The stadium is about a 15 minute (easy) walk from Kaihimmakuhari Station however there are a constant stream of shuttle coaches that take you from the station exit direct to the stadium entrance, cost is approx 100 yen ($1) per adult, 50 yen per child. The bus takes about 3 minutes, might be ideal if you have small kids however my 7yo daughter was fine with the walk.
- There is a massive factory outlet / shopping complex outside the station with ALL the big brands, so if your keen to avoid the rush on the trains, get there a couple of hours before the match, do some shopping and there are plenty of restaurants / food courts also for lunch / dinner.
