It was absolutely terrible — probably the worst coffee I’ve ever had in the U.S.
I ordered a Cappuccino, a very basic drink, but the coffee base was burnt and had no flavor except for a strong scorched taste. The milk foam was a complete failure — not smooth at all, overheated, and carried a strange taste.
If it were just bad coffee, I wouldn’t even bother leaving a bad review. But what really made this experience unacceptable was that the barista was too busy taking photos for Instagram, completely ignoring the fact that this was a cup of coffee I paid for and intended to drink.
Update after owner’s reply:
I did go to this exact store.
If you can’t find any record, you’d better check which day in October you had a filming or photo-shooting event.
Your barista was busy chatting with a handsome photographer and left the newly purchased milk unattended under the steam wand.
(Yes — at first I was told there was no milk, and later a woman happened to bring milk back.)
She did not hold the milk pitcher and rotate it to create even, fine microfoam. As a result, the milk was over-steamed to the point of “boiling over” out of the pitcher.
She did not remake the drink. Instead, she poured the failed milk foam directly into my coffee.
You are welcome to verify whether this actually happened.
When a problem occurs, instead of assuming the customer is trying to discredit you, maybe consider whether the coffee you served was unworthy of the ingredients you used.
