Japanese hand rolls

Vancouver foood
Hello Nori

Art G.

Google
🤩 First-Timer Hand Roll & Sake Heaven! I seriously cannot get over how incredible this experience was! As a total newbie to the hand-roll and sake scene, the chefs and waitstaff were absolute lifesavers—so patient and helpful. I took their recommendation and tried sake for the first time... and wow. It was genuinely great! I actually loved it. And the hand rolls? Forget about it. They are a solid 10/10, no question. They completely blew me away! I'm already planning my next visit. I will definitely be coming back

Google
Tried Hello Nori recently. Loved the presentation, everything looks amazing and the experience itself is fun. I had the Konnichiwagarita (sake-based margarita) which was zesty and refreshing, but a bit too sweet for my taste. We tried their popular truffle lobster and it was good, but honestly anything tastes good with that much mayo and sauce. The sashimi was the best thing we had, super fresh, but definitely expensive (as expected). Overall, it feels a bit overrated. It’s a nice spot for a first date since the setup sparks conversation, but not great for hanging out with friends, the layout makes it hard to socialize.

Google
Ordered via DoorDash. The food was packed securely with stickers all around which was very reassuring. The presentation was very nice too. Sadly, most of the rolls weren’t fresh (including even the cucumber). The delivery was quite quick, so it wasn’t an issue of distance/time/DoorDash. It appears the ingredients weren’t fresh to begin with. I didn’t make a claim, but ended up throwing the entire order out.

Google
Food is pretty fresh and there is a good selection. Not authentic Japanese sushi by any means, but the sashimi is decent. The service was painfully slow though. There were a lot of staff serving drinks, taking orders, but only 1 person who could make the sushi. We were worried we would miss our ferry so we got the rest of our food to-go. It was packed super well with wasabi, ginger, and soy sauce, and they even give you a little sauce dish!

Jackeline N.

Google
Everyone was so lovely! This is the first time we’ve been there, and the concept was new to us, we got the 4 hand rolls and every single one of them was a hit. Our waitress noticed that we were celebrating our anniversary and was so nice about congratulating us. 10/10 definitely recommend.

S Y.

Google
Definitely worth trying this restaurant that is specialized in Japanese sushi rolls: maki. We had their hand roll menus: Negitoro, Yellowtail, Hokkaido Scallop and Snow Crab. We also got their sushi menus: salmon and ebi oshi. All of them were delicious. It has bar style seatings so you can see Japanese chefs making your order right in front of you! It was a unique experience! We were able to get our seats for two people without a reservation but then it got full soon after. You may want to consider making a reservation.

Google
One of the best places to come in Vancouver, not only the place is nice, but the food and cocktails are amazing, delicious and fastly served. The service is the best. The hostess, waiters and the managers are always on top of everything taking care of you. Love the food recommendations, the mention of specials and happy hour!

Google
This was a very great experience and I would recommend it. The reason I gave it a 3 stars instead of 5 was that for the price, you’re paying for an experience. The actual food is decent but not something that can’t be easily duplicated at home. The experience is good though, so everyone should try it out, there’s a reason why it’s so popular. I ordered the 6 set and out of the 6 rolls, I found 4 of them were really good but the other 2 seemed like it came from a can. The lobster one and the crab one. No texture and didn’t taste very good. The service was impeccable. But $170 later for 4 people, that could have been a decent sushi experience elsewhere. The stools were very uncomfortable to sit on. Not sure about others but a hard wooden stool is not that comfortable. I would call this a “one and done” experience. No need to repeat this experience for me.

Yelp
I didn't get many pictures since we got hand rolls most of them look similar. The food is excellent. They make everything to order so it's fresh and perfect. The nitro matcha was incredible too. The service was smooth and accessible. You sit at the sushi bar and different people serve you based on timing. We'd never been to a sushi bar quite like this one. It definitely has authentic vibes in that you're sat around the kitchen so to speak where everyone's hand rolls and or sashimi were being prepared. It made for a unique experience for a fairly quick and delicious bite. It was super busy and stayed that way so I highly recommend making reservations.

Yelp
Hello Nori was such a great handroll bar experience. They start you off with fresh hand wipes since you'll be eating with your hands, which was a thoughtful touch. The drinks were fruity, refreshing, and paired perfectly with the food. The handrolls themselves were incredibly fresh. I can't recommend the truffle lobster roll enough. The balance of truffle and lobster was spot on. And as a scallop lover, their scallop roll absolutely hit the mark. Everything tasted clean, high-quality, and well-prepared. The space is beautiful too, modern, sleek, and perfect for setting the ambiance. Service was friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. Overall, I really enjoyed this spot while traveling in Vancouver and would definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area.

Yelp
Delicious hand rolls hand made one by one. Happy hour with some discounts late at night. Got the 6 roll combo and was delicious. My favorites are salmon and scallop. I guess I like things simple. Service was excellent and attentive. Ambiance- bar seating with soft music but lively evening crowd having some drinks. Nothing else really open in the area so nice to have a late night option.

Rohin H.

Yelp
The food was fantastic. They had a Japanese pickled vegetable special - daikon, cucumber and eggplant which was absolutely delicious. Also tried some west coast oysters as well. Their main focus is hand rolls. The scallop roll, truffled lobster roll and crab rolls were excellent. Can't really go wrong. They also had a sashimi special which was beautifully presented and so good. Service was very precise and quick - you are at a countertop with the server right in front of you. Nice looking room with fun music. Highly recommend it.

Yelp
LOVE! Cool concept with the single bar style table for the whole restaurant. I recommend the salmon oshi, and lychee berry cocktail boozy style. Hand rolls are all great, service is super fast and you get to watch your rolls being made right infront of you. A must visit spot for me every time i'm in Vancouver.

Ashraf M.

Yelp
Had very little expectation going there but their hand rolls are out of this world. Highly recommend for date nights. The service is great but could do better with comfier seating.
google avatar

Oliver M.

Yelp
I like the concept here because everything is made right in front of you almost as if it's omakase style! The seaweed is always crisp when it gets to you and the seafood is so fresh! I like ordering one of the combos so you can try 4 different rolls at once. Don't miss out on the aburi because they do it so well here!
google avatar

Yelp
Hello Nori is such a good vibe, an excellent addition for busy downtown workers - we haven't had any specialty hand roll places so this restaurant concept is super cool and interactive. You sit at the counter and get hand rolls made fresh, one by one, right in front of you. Honestly kind of addicting watching them build each one so cleanly. The quality is great and you can really taste the difference in the sushi quality, it's actually really decent, The set menus are solid and actually filling, and the price point is totally fair for what you get. Great spot if you want something quick-ish, elevated, and a little different from your usual sushi dinner. Definitely a go-to for me when I want to feel a little fancy but still keep it casual.
google avatar

Shon A.

Yelp
The staff is warm and charming. The food was delicious. There are great specials and a happy hour. The Abui is delicious. The rolls are fresh.
google avatar

Lizzie S.

Yelp
My favorite meal I had on my Vancouver trip! Great service and I loved watching my hand rolls prepared in front of me. You order by using a pencil they give you to select which hand rolls you want. They also have a series of special rolls for what is the day I believe. The fish tasted so fresh and the balance of the warm rice and nori. It wasn't the best quality but it was reasonably-priced and filled me up. My favorites were the Lobster roll and the Sea bream. It was great--I wanted to eat quickly so I could go to work and the faster I ate each roll when it came out, the faster the next one came to me.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a must go place if you like sushi. Reasonably affordable food for CRAZY quality. Highly recommend. My friend and I went on a weekday night and it was not busy at all with no wait. It's a cute little U shaped table with the chefs serving it to you omakase style if you get the nori set. HIGHLY recommend the nori set could not emphasize the need to go to this restaurant enough it's my fav of my visit.
google avatar

Evan C.

Yelp
Really neat hand roll sushi bar. First of all the decor and service is amazing. There is a really neat wooden cube in front and the ceiling is super unique - hard to describe but unforgettable. The wait staff is really good at describing the menu and the place settings are done well and well thought out. The menu has different sets of hand rolls and also sashimi and individual hand rolls to order. I had a sashimi set which was excellent - included king wild salmon and another kind of salmon, hamachi and tuna. The hand roll was very well done and presented well too. Would definitely come back. Great place to take anyone. A unique experience.
google avatar

Lily H.

Yelp
We stopped by for a snack due to the high reviews, but were sorely disappointed with the quality of the sushi and rolls. It's easy to see the appeal of this type of restaurant, but if you are looking for quality fish and rolls, this is not the place. Both the salmon and tuna rolls we ordered didn't taste the freshest. Have definitely tasted way better sauces on unagi. Bottom line, if you are looking for an experience, give this place a try. But if you're looking for quality sushi skip.
google avatar

Kristofer E.

Yelp
Solid but not remarkable. Everything is pre made and put together. The heated nori is a nice touch but the inside is less interesting. Dinner * Tuna (Good) * Yellowtail (Good)
google avatar

Yelp
What an incredible business idea! They only have bar sitting! They are specialized in hand rolls and hats off the best i have ever had! Very nice and knowledgeable people working there! Perfect game changer restaurant! Again compare to quality of food and service and vibe, the price you pay is cheap! Loved it! Will go back again for sure
google avatar

Chee Jen N.

Yelp
Great food! Lovely ambience. Great selection of rolls! The service was great and very fast! It's like an omakase feel where they make food in front of you but at a fraction of the price!

Yelp
It's such a delicious experience to get freshly-made hand rolls in a clean, well-lit place where the nori wrapper is crisply toasted, the rice is warm, and the filling is fresh. If you haven't had this kind of dining experience, you need to go and try it stat! My hubs and I have been to Hello Nori twice in the last fours months and now we want to come back every time we visit Vancouver. We enjoyed the king salmon, bluefin tuna, avocado, pickled vegetables, and unagi rolls. Our favorite was the unagi! So good! My hubs also liked the special roll of the day: ikura: salmon roe with shiso leaf. Service is friendly, polite, and very attentive. Hello Nori is our kind of place. Our dinner came out to be $105.27 CAD which was about $77 USD. A good deal we felt for the great quality and service. We will be back!

Yelp
One of my absolute favorite and must stop in Vancouver, BC! Hello Nori is my standard for handrolls and the quality and service are all there. Located in a super busy area, but you can find street parking. The interior is minimal, but very aesthetically pleasing. There is probably around 20 + seats all around the bar, so you don't have to worry about waiting too long. If there is a wait, you can always order a drink and hang out in the meantime. The menu is simple and they always have a special. The first time, I ordered the set. But after that, I order what I want a la carte and find the price doesn't change much in terms of a deal. The seaweed is always crispy and the rice is seasoned and warm. The ratio of protein to rice is on point and they always do a great job of being able to balance when you finish eating and then preparing your next order. They do offer more than just hand rolls, so something for everything. The quality is super fresh and I haven't had a bad experience, or bad fish. If you do come during the winter, they do a huge giftcard sale so you can get even more bang for your buck. I love that they open later and it is never a bad food option. Great for a date, to catch up, or even just a quick dinner. I highly recommend anybody that enjoys handrolls to make a stop here and I always make a stop whenever I'm in town (at least once a day, haha).

Yelp
Came here for the first time recently for a late ish dinner. The place is smaller than I thought, there's no table and only have bar seats around a U-shape kitchen/serving area. The place is clean and have a nice modern look. I've been to a similar restaurant in Las Vegas so I sort of know the drill. We ordered the 5 handrolls combo. The chef made our order one by one as we finished the last roll. Of the 5 rolls, our favorite were the scallop and king salmon. While the food is fresh and tasted good, it was not as good as the place I went in Las Vegas. In particular the seaweed is a bit hard to chew through but at the restaurant in Vegas, the seaweed has an insane crunch that chewing through the seaweed every bite was never a problem. All in all it was a good experience and I may be back if I'm in the area.

Yelp
Why 5-stars? Because Our first meal in town was a great start to our trip. --- --- --- We were scheduled to land in Vancouver at 7:30p and had dinner reservations elsewhere. But elsewhere never happened because our flight was delayed about an hour and we had no chance to make it to the other place before they closed. Enter: Hello Nori. Open late with great reviews and close to our hotel. Win, Win, Win. Full disclosure: I had recently eaten at a nearly identical concept in Houston and thought the Houston version of Hello Nori was the better one. However, this was still a delicious experience and one I'm happy we had. We really loved the Ebi Oshi, the Truffle Lobster, the Snow Crab and the Scallop Handrolls. 5-star city here. The Salmon Oshi, Toro, Yellow Tail and Salmon Handrolls were a solid 4-stars each. I also ordered the Sakura Blossom and it was one of the better cocktails I can ever remember having. This is a true vacation drink if I've ever had one. But I guess it would also pretty great on a random Wednesday night of a busy work week too. Thanks for getting our trip started, Hello Nori!

Yelp
Had such a good time at Hello Nori. Hand rolls were absolutely delicious: crispy seaweed, perfect amount of rice and fresh seafood (I've tried various kinds and all were really good). They have great happy hour specials, and I thought that the prices were very good for the quality and amount of food you get. I love the concept of sitting around the bar so you can watch your hand rolls being made. They also have a really selection of various creative drinks!

Shlondra A.

Yelp
The food is fresh and tastes great. The staff is friendly and there are good specials and a good drink happy hour.
google avatar

Tracy L.

Yelp
I loved the rolls here - the made-to-eat-immediately rolls keep the seaweed crispy, and the rice (yes quality and season of rice matters!) was so good. My favorites were the King Salmon and Spicy Shrimp hand rolls. We had this for dinner but next time I think we'll come for Happy Hour (Mon-Thursday 2:30-5:30pm) for half off drinks and to just eat two or so rolls.
google avatar

Yelp
Hello Nori is a cute modern Japanese restaurant specializing in hand rolls. They have set menus for 4, 5, or 6 hand rolls, or you can order a la carte. The only seating available is bar seating, which surrounds the food prep area where the sushi chef makes the rolls. I stopped by on a Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 PM for a late lunch. It wasn't very busy, likely due to in-between lunch and dinner hours. I ordered the 4-hand roll set (toro, king salmon, snow crab, and spicy shrimp), added one truffle lobster and one unagi hand roll, and had a sweetened nitro matcha tea. The rolls were fresh and flavorful, a nice balance of cool fish, warm rice, and crisp nori. Rice to fish portions were reasonable. My personal favorites were the snow crab (mildly sweet, creamy) and truffle lobster (fragrant, sweet, and meaty). Chef did a great job managing multiple customers' orders as she prepared each roll fresh. Service was also very quick and attentive, refilling ginger and water as needed. Hello Nori is a different take on sushi restaurants, focusing on hand rolls. Highly recommend!

Yelp
A+++ We love this place so much. The staff are over the top lovely and the food is amazing. We've gone twice so far on our trip. Our favorite dishes were spicy bluefin tuna (by far the best), snow crab and the avocado rolls with cucumber. I likes the lobster roll as well.
google avatar

Somya L.

Yelp
Hello Nori is such a great handroll bar in Vancouver! I am a huge fan of handrolls (esp Kazunori) and Hello Nori did not disappoint. We got the tuna roll, salmon roll, scallop roll, salmon oshi, and ebi oshi. The salmon oshi & tuna rolls are musts! Great service, you pick what you want on the menu, and the service is fast (bar seating). If you want to catch up with friends or family, this place may not be it since it is a quick experience. Will be back!
google avatar

Sunny H.

Yelp
Food was awesome. Service was attentive and wonderful. Ambiance was fine but we would have preferred a table for our fam. However perhaps it's the nature of the freshly made rolls delivered by the chefs such that having tables wouldn't just work. Everyone enjoyed: Spicy tuna King salmon Blue fin Unagi Yellow tail Avocado Cucumber White peach drinks Genmaicha Ice cream mochi to finish off the meal. Delish and looking forward to going back soo.
google avatar

Helen C.

Yelp
Freshly made hand rolls is an amazing experience that I would highly recommend to anyone who hasn't tried it before. Warm rice with fresh fish and crispy nori is absolutely elite temperature and texture combination. It's definitely more of an intimate experience and great for couples as they only have bar seating, but a bit more difficult to speak to each other if you have a large group as you're sitting shoulder to shoulder. I wouldn't recommend this if you're in a hurry as they only have two staff actually making rolls individually for every single person seated at the restaurant. The pricing is decent for a great seafood experience, you can get 6 hand rolls 35 CAD. Highlights (aka my favorite rolls): - Truffle Lobster (4.25/5): I thought this would just be gimmicky, but it's actually delicious. The truffle flavor isn't too heavy and the lobster was super fresh. - Hokkaido Scallop (4/5): This one is not just scallops, it's actually chopped scallops with mayo fyi! Creamy and great texture. - Unagi (4.25/5): Fresh off the charcoal goal and the sauce is great balance between sweet and salty. Appreciated that this was a drastically different temperature from the other options to break up your experience.

Yelp
I'm not sure what happened to my previous review, which seems to have disappeared.... Anyhoo, I went back for lunch this weekend and we were satisfied with the quality of the nori, rice and ingredients. I forgot to take photos this time, but the presentation was nice. This is not gourmet sushi, but a premium fast casual restaurant that serves decent quality, clean food in a very convenient location at a reasonable price, considering the rent they're paying. Their sake by the glass is good. The tea was mediocre. The only negative was being lectured by a kid who may have never even been to Japan about Japanese food, when all 3 of us were half Japanese, and I have been cooking Japanese food longer than he's been alive, but at least he was earnest about it, lol.
google avatar

Laura L.

Yelp
What I thought was just square/rectangular shaped sushi (or what I interpreted it as) was a fantastic in restaurant experience. I decided to go for the 5 hand roll set which was the perfect amount for a hungry female with a moderate appetite. The service was prompt and attentive. The wait was about 10-15 minutes (Sunday at around 12pm). Each hand roll was delicious! My favorite would be the truffle lobster! My one con would be that food could be expensive for someone with a hearty appetite. My meal was $40 for 5 handrolls, a non alcoholic drink and tip (which they pre calculate for you). --- After this visit I did place an online order as well for delivery. They don't do the same hand rolls like in restaurant but they do sushi style hand rolls. I would say the delivery aspect makes them not quite as fresh (seaweed less crispy, protein less warm) and not as good.
google avatar

Allen L.

Yelp
We went here today and enjoyed ourselves a ton. The servers are friendly and responsive. The food was awesome. I ended up ordering a la carte (which is a bit pricier) along with some of the house sake, which was poured generously. Everything was delicious. Highly recommend the sea bream, the unagi, and the tamago. The experience was somewhat novel, but it was really pleasant. The downside is the bar seating prevented our party of 4 from chatting. I hope to return for happy hour!
google avatar

Barbara K.

Yelp
From someone who eats sushi 1-2 times a week, I wouldn't say the sushi quality is out of this world but it's very good and a fun concept. I came for lunch on a Monday and it was pretty quiet. Great service as well. I did the 6 roll lunch special and salmon oishi. Similar to most sushi restaurants, the fish used in the rolls is precut but its fresh. Would come again!
google avatar

Tracy K.

Yelp
We stumbled upon this place while looking for a nearby place to eat. The nitro green tea is amazing and has great flavor. I highly recommend it! As for the hand rolls, each one was overstuffed with rice and kept falling apart each time we took a bite. There was also only one sushi chef making hand rolls for the entire restaurant. However, the timing of each roll being served was appropriate, not too quick or too slow. We felt as if the quality of the ingredients weren't good and left an underwhelming experience. We just prefer Handies Douzo in Houston!
google avatar

Sarah C.

Yelp
Excellent hand roll bar. Servers are friendly and quick. I got the 4 hand rolls for $23 plus tax and tip. Located on the busy street of Robson. Their water doesn't taste like tap thank god. I love how they even provide a little tiny towel to sanitize your hands afterwards. 10/10
google avatar

Idy C.

Yelp
Very nice decor, simple but modern. We went there on a weekday evening and there is no line at all. we were seated right away and we ordered a combo with 6 handrolls. Honestly some of them are pretty much tasted the same but I love the handroll is made fresh in front of you and the nori is fresh and crispy. The seating is not very comfortable and tight especially we went on a cold day, there is no space for you to store your jacket and purse except the hook under the counter. overall, service is still good and we love the setup for that.
google avatar

Stephanie M.

Yelp
We came on a Thursday for lunch. We got the 5 piece set and it was more than enough for me. It comes with Toro, yellow tail, scallop, crab and truffle lobster We waited around 30 minutes for a seat as it was peak lunch time. The best one was the yellow tail and the scallop one. Then the Toro followed by crab and truffle lobster. I love the rice and the seaweed and the fact that they make each roll fresh in front of you. Service was fast and attentive Would come back but maybe only get 3-4 rolls instead of 5 Reminder that tip is included in the bill

Yelp
Dine out menu I am genuinely so impressed by this place! The food was amazing and delicious. Miso soup I feel like this doesn't need much of a review haha but I'll give one anyways. Regular miso but I enjoyed how they did not skimp on the fillings and each bowl had a lot of seaweed and tofu! Salmon oshi I liked how you could really taste the flame with this! I wasn't too keen of a fan of this though, this is not exactly what they're known for so I understand what it might not be as good as their hand rolls. Although there were was a nice charred flavour, I just didn't feel it was that special. It was a nice thing to try on their menu though! Wishing I tried the shrimp one as well... Tamago roll Love at first bite! I normally don't like tamago rolls or anything because I think they're quite plain. However this was amazing - the egg was a little bit sweet and in combination with the perfectly cooked rice and crispy nori (seaweed) it was easily one of my favourites of the night! Toro roll Unfortunately I think this was my least favourite of the night. Although flavour, I wasn't a fan of the ground up tuna texture. Side note, tuna is also not my favourite sashimi so this opinion is totally biased (as with all my other opinions lol - take with a grain of salt?). Snow crab roll This roll was also good and the crab was subtly sweet. Honestly I think I said when I ate this it was one of my favourites but I don't remember in detail what it tasted like anymore oops Truffle lobster I was so surprised that they gave a big piece of lobster for this roll! The truffle was so subtle that I couldn't taste it but that's fine with me because I'm actually not a fan of truffle. I think this was my favourite because of the generous filling. I immediately liked it when I ate it but I'm also a huge fan of lobster . Mochis (mango, green tea, vanilla, strawberry) Pretty sure these are just from the mochi ice cream variety pack you get at the store lol so not much to review here. Overall each roll was delicious and I loved the crispy nori each one was wrapped in Just like they described, each bite had crispy nori, warm rice, and fresh ingredients! For some reason I also think that their soy sauce was seriously delicious and particularly fragrant! This spot really surpassed my expectations. The dine out menu was totally with it. You get such a variety and leave feeling very satisfied. Full video experience at @qq_eats on Instagram !

Yelp
This is an original sushi concept where hand rolls are prepared to order from a fixed menu consisting mostly of pre-prepared fish tartares. We tried the five-roll lunch, and the standouts were the scallop roll and the yellowtail roll. I also had an eel roll that was excellent. It was the only roll that involved a more traditional preparation of sushi, where the fish was seared to order. Service was fast and friendly.

Yelp
Excellent food, tasty and fresh ingredients. Very pleasant yet casual atmosphere. Value is honestly quite good, especially if you can catch their happy hour specials. Friendly service from start to finish. One of my favorite hand roll places ever. If this was in my city I would visit regularly.

Yelp
Finally stopped in to try this place and did not disappoint. Lobster roll with truffle, spicy bluefin tuna, avocado, Wagyu A5 (special) and great daiginjo sake by the glass served in the traditional bamboo box. Crispy nori, great service, warm rice. Very clean stylish room with only 24 seats around the bar. The rolls come out as prepared with rice still warm, service is attentive and all in all a great experience. Sashimi feature looked great. Happy hour Monday to Thurs aft and late night. Auto grat of 16% which they clearly tell you about and you're given the option to alter.

Yelp
Delish, fresh, and great service. The genmaicha was aromatic and there were some wonderful eel and salmon roe specials. I could not believe how filling the hand rolls were (I was stuffed after five). Just wish the place wasn't so expensive!

Yelp
I wanted to check out Robson Street in Vancouver and have some good sushi and this concept was unique and gave me my Robson Street fix as well. With that, comes street parking that is hard to find as this place does not offer private parking. There was only a short wait for our party of 4 around 2pm and this was great since they have limited seating all around a bar. From there, the menu is straight forward with all hand rolls, made to order. They have combos that you can get that come with certain rolls and you end up saving a few bucks. I got the Combo 6 which included the truffled lobster and the snow crab, both of which I really wanted to try. The rolls aren't that big, but they are delicious. The bar seating allows you to watch them be made. The scallop roll was unique, but my favorite was the truffle lobster, since the snow crab was a bit heavy on the mayo. We also tried the salmon oshi, which is seared salmon on top of rice and a jalapeno slice on top and it was so good, we ordered a few more. The servie was great and it was a fun experience. I'm glad we came here.

Yelp
Everything about this place is amazing. The price for the quality of the fish is unbeatable to any hand roll place i've had in Seattle. The lobster truffle roll was the best hand roll I've ever tried. Came back twice just to get the 6 handroll set. Already planning our next trip here. The staff was awesome and everything is fast here so there was never really a wait when we came!

Yelp
This is a chain restaurant, and we went to the one on Robson Street in downtown Vancouver. Parking is hard to find off of the main street, so be prepared to look for spots in the back alleys. The place only has bar seating and their waits can be up to 40 minutes long. Once seated, you fill out your own order on a card and then give it to the sushi chef when ready. We ordered the 6-hand roll combo in addition to the unagi and the salmon aburi add-ons. To finish it off, we tried their mochi ice cream. There were some issues with our order. First, the sushi chef forgot to make one of our rolls before we had to remind him. Also, the time between rolls and also the dessert took a bit long. For example, we waited about 20 minutes for our mochi ice cream to come out after we finished our last roll. The rolls themselves were inconsistent. Some had fillings that were ice cold while others have warmed close to room temperature. When it came it to eat the dessert, we were given a wooden fork that had black mold growing on it (see picture). In terms of taste, the rolls were on par with other sushi places and priced reasonably. However, Hello Nori lacked consistency. Lastly, gratuity is forced upon you at 16% as part of the final bill at this restaurant.

Yelp
Staff were incredibly friendly and food was delicious. Very cool to see it prepared in front of you, especially when they busted out the flamethrower. The Unagi hand roll is the best for sure and the cook said it was her favorite as well!

Yelp
Service was great. Fun atmosphere sitting around the sushi bar. Food was good but not great (4 stars).

Yelp
Love this place! The best experience for authentic Japanese hand roll. Service was good. Very attentive. All bar stool sitting, downside the seats are uncomfortable to seat for different sizes. But regardless it does not affect the food quality, very fresh and flavorful!
