Reykjavik Residence Apartment Hotel

excellent experience - traveled with 2 families, so we had 2 rooms (2 BR, 2 BA apartment & 1 BR, 1 BA apartment). both were spacious, nicely decorated and very clean. location was excellent - short walk to the church and the bus stops for basically all the tours. service at the hotel was excellent (we booked airport transfers through them). roof deck in the main building was perfect for northern lights watching. has a wine bar (that we didn't visit) also has a self service cafe in the lobby for drinks and essentials.

Location is excellent. Right in the middle of shops, restaurants, bus stops, etc. Our room was huge. If I'm not mistaken its was 45sqm. With full kitchen, dining and living area. Basement have a self laundry, which is quite handy for washing and drying your clothes. Staff was very polite and helpful. Highly recommend.

A fantastic hotel for location, price and service. We were at the Guðríðarhús building which was great as it was a stone throw from the high street and also a 6 minute walk from the collection point on most excursions. It was also only 18 minutes walk from the BSI bus station which was a nice walk past the church. Would absolutely reccomend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Reykjavik!

We stayed at Reykjavik Residence Hotel, The Embassy building, for 4 nights, and just got back to the UK yesterday. I must say this hotel is so great and really convenience. The location is great. The bed is very comfortable. The room is very clean. The service was very thoughtful. We especially loved they provide a small kitchen and dinning area, they also fill up your everyday breakfast, eggs, ham, cheese, bread, fruit, vegetable, juice, milk, butter, honey, jam, yogurts all in the fridge for you. There is also coffee machine with plenty of coffee capsules. In the morning they also deliver fresh warm bread to your room too. It was prefect for us to bring the food with us to our day tours. It provides the home comfort and convenience, at the same time the location was super in the centre of the city, close to all the tourist points. I will stay again when I come back to Iceland in the future. The service was also very good and efficient too! Iceland has exceeded my expectations and I think this hotel makes a great difference for my journey !

We were really pleased with our stay here both times we've visited. Julia, Victoria and the staff there were unfailingly polite and helpful. The building we stayed in was well appointed and super convenient to everything we wanted to do. The only challenge here is parking, but it's possible if you pay attention. Plan ahead if you have folks in your party who have accessibility concerns.

What a phenomenal experience! From check in to check out, our stay was comfortable, warm, safe, and memorable. Sandra was able to accommodate an early check-in, and that was a kind and generous start to a lovely stay. All of the little touches in the room—milk, juice, cereal, coffee, heated floors, the towel warmer, individual comforters for each person on the double beds!—provided small but significant luxuries. The only thing that did not work at all was the phone app for the room key. A physical key is definitely the way to go. And coat hooks near the front door would be super helpful. We made the right move on our first trip to Iceland to stay in a hotel so that we could get help navigating and have a place to store our luggage as needed. Raul was so helpful and kind when we needed to call a taxi. Sandra‘s professionalism, kindness, and excellent suggestions about how to live like a local made our trip truly unforgettable. She is an absolute gem! We look forward to returning to Reykjavík and can’t wait to stay here again!

We stayed in the Prime Minister's Residence building, a beautiful building. Our rooms were spacious and comfortable, with a great shower. We loved the daily vegetable in our breakfast basket along with the usuals. It was quiet when we stayed, and in a good location. There was a ramp to the front door, and good accessibility in the bathroom. Due to extreme weather, it looked possible that we'd need to stay an extra night, and Reception was very helpful. There were a couple of minor let-downs. When we first arrived, late at night, our phones wouldn't open our apartment door. When I called for help, I was told to go to reception for a key. As a disabled person, this would've been very difficult if not for my husband being with me. The kitchen space is tiny and was a struggle to use effectively. I also wasn't a fan of the fresh bread, it had a very distinct taste.

Comfort, cleanliness and customer service!!! These are clean and great rooms for anyone going to stay more than a night or two. My beautiful wife, great son and I, all stayed for 6 days and 5 nights! They are close to so many of the highlights of the town and literally a block from a Bonus grocery store. With phenomenal fridge, microwave, stove, sink and dishwasher it makes it easy to gather goods and save money while eating at “home.” The staff are superheroes; friendly and positive attitude you get at many places as my wife and I love to travel, but not every place will help you with tours and trips that you did not purchase through them. Check in with them for advice and ideas and they even made calls to our touring groups to better the pickup sites and make things smoother than ever. That is going above and beyond. I would recommend them to anyone that wants to make the most of what might be a once in a lifetime vacation here as they will help you make the most of it and give you a phenomenal and clean room to rest and recover at in-between the trips you travel on while you are here!!!
