"The city of Culiacán is known for its bloodred sunsets, but you’ll experience them in a whole new way from James Turrell’s Encounter, the first skyspace in Mexico, opened to the public in 2015. Located in the lush Botanical Gardens of Culiacan in Sinaloa, Mexico, this skyspace has a unique elliptical shape which, when viewed from above, resembles the shape of an eye."

If you are an open areas and plants enthusiast, this is a place you can't miss on your visit to Culiacán. The biggest collection of palm trees in Mexico are displayed in this botanical garden. It also presents some other plants groups in a well ordered way. There are also, some interesting architectural concepts intended to match with the content of the botanical garden that are worth of admiring. Be sure to carry your umbrella, a good pair of sunglasses and sun block when you come. It would be useful for some visitors to be able to obtain a field guide to the plants exhibited in the botanical garden, since it's almost impossible to remember by heart all the species shown in this place.

A must visit! Beautiful, peaceful, family friendly botanical garden. Surrounded by a palm alea and park. Make sure to check out the bathroom:)) - it’s a piece of art just itself.

Encounter exposition is one of a kind in the world, the only one in Latin America. It's an awesome show made out of Culiacán's sky. Only available at sunrise or sunset. The garden is beautiful, ideal for a chill walking with friends, family or a love date. Certainly one of the most beautiful places in the city.
