Queen of Sheba Restaurant

I don’t write google reviews but I feel it is my duty to share my experience.DO NOT COME HERE!!!! I live 30 minutes away from Queen of Sheba and the phone does not work so you have to come in person to place the order I guess. I drove the 30 minutes and was so excited to try this restaurant. I pre planned what I was going order so that everything would go as smooth as possible. I enter the restaurant and before I can reach the counter the owner looks me up and down (I was wearing sweats and a hoodie because I was planning on taking the food to go). I asked to place a to go order was she answered “Maybe. I can try.” I have a gluten sensitivity and selected this restaurant because the reviews and menu stated they offer gluten free enjera. When I requested the gf injera she immediately interrupted and said they don’t have that today (which happens at restaurants so sad but no big deal). I said that’s not a problem as I can just give the enjera to my partner that is not gluten free. She said she wouldn’t serve me at all because I’m gluten free. I explained to her that it’s a sensitivity and that I drove 30 minutes to try to food but was met with nothing but hostility. She said I couldn’t be trusted to not eat enjera and maybe if I bring my partner next time then she could trust me. I did start to tear up (I’m hungry and have never been treated with hostility in a restaurant to this degree) and she said “don’t be a comedian” .Take your hard earned money elsewhere. I recommend Nike Ethiopian in Aurora

We went here for New Year’s Eve. It was absolutely outstanding! The owner and staff were so friendly and welcoming. The food from the meat plate to the vegetarian one every part was wonderful. Our whole family is four and the children are young adults ate for $76 and took food home. We entered dinner with a delicious spice tea.Wow! What a lovely start New Year’s evening. We will definitely be coming again and you should too.

She is 71 years old, and if you have the opportunity to chat with her, sage advice is inevitable. We can spend our money in many ways these days, and it’s not always for a good cause, worth the exchange, or done with intention. Queen of Sheba Ethiopian maintains an old-fashioned tradition of warm, personal service, making the payment process effortless. Food Quality - My family has been in the restaurant business since 1960. We know quality. This woman cooks food fresh, with great care, and with the kind of flavor only an authentic chef can offer. My daughter is 6 years old and she LOVED the beef tibs. I am vegetarian. I had the veggie platter. ALWAYS A WINNER! One of the BEST features of her food is the injera. She makes it herself. Her technique should not be overlooked. I’ve been eating Ethiopian food for YEARS. I usually get very bloated because of the fermentation but NOT WITH HER INJERA. Eat her food. Eat a lot of it. Feel amazing afterwards. It’s worth it!

Best Ethiopian restaurant in town. I love that this woman runs everything herself. Her love is in the food!!! You can taste it in ever bite. The chicken falls off the bone and the veggie platter is so delicious. Highly highly recommend!

Truly a gem. Food was out of this world fantastic. Chicken falls off the bone. Lamb is tender as could be. The lentils and Yatakelt Wott stand out on their own. Split the Queens Dinner for two with a friend and it was more than enough food for each. The amount of flavor in each bite is well worth dining here. The true star of the show is Ms Zebwe. The amount of love and experience she puts into every dish makes you feel like your eating your grandma's cooking.

Food was incredible, the owner was lovely and cooked it all herself! Truly an unbelievable dinner and for a great price; we will absolutely be back!!!!

We got the tibs and doro wat which came with sides of red lentils, split peas, as well as some boiled potatoes and carrots. Everything was exceptional and went well together. The beef tibs are well seasoned and the doro wat's sauce is packed with flavor, with super tender chicken drumsticks. The meat and veggie sambusas are nice and flaky, I would highly recommend either of them. Definitely call ahead and get a reservation if you can since it's a smaller restaurant, but if you aren't able to get through or leave a message I would just walk in. We walked in last week and the chef/owner mentioned she hasn't been able to receive calls for a couple weeks, it still appears to be when I tried calling most recently

Probably some of the best and most flavorful food places! Everything was cooked amazing, the meat was tender, the chicken literally fell off the bone. We were with a group and everyone loved their food! The owner was very friendly and made us feel at home.
