Goodbye Folk Vintage Boutique

A great vintage shop that is really well curated and thoughtfully laid out. The store has multiple floors (3–4 levels) of vintage pieces, and everything feels intentional rather than overwhelming. Each floor is organized by certain pieces (jean jackets, vintage tees, pants, leather jackets, accessories, etc.) I originally went in just to look after hearing great things about this spot, and ended up leaving with a dream leather jacket. It was a long 90s leather trench, and it’s been the perfect staple to add to my closet, especially with how much the temperature drops in Mexico City in the evenings. If you’re into quality vintage and timeless pieces, this place is absolutely worth stopping into.

Goodbye Folk is one of those rare finds that makes you glad you wandered in. The shop is beautifully curated so you don’t have to dig through piles to get to the gems. Everything feels intentional and stylish, and as my photos show, the selection is impressive. That said, the pricing reflects the curation. This is not the place for thrift level steals, it is more about paying for a well selected mix of vintage and upcycled fashion. Fair enough, but worth noting. Where things stumbled for me was the customer service. Everyone was friendly enough, but when I asked for details on the provenance of certain pieces, the answer I got was a flat “we have a lot of things, I can’t tell you what the brands are.” Since Goodbye Folk puts their own label on upcycled or resold items, you really have no way of knowing the origin, even when the quality clearly suggests it started as a high end brand. Oddly, every item had a barcode, which made me think the information was there if someone wanted to look it up, but the staff did not make the effort. We still left with several great pieces and overall I would recommend the store, but in a city where customer service generally goes above and beyond, Goodbye Folk felt like an exception. Five star inventory and vibe, three star service, landing squarely at four stars overall.

I don't understand all the good reviews. Yes the shop is well managed and looks lovely but it is so so expensive. They take the labels off everything and put their own Goodbye Folk Vintage Boutique label on the items. I suppose this is so that they can justify charging 1800 pesos for a second hand jumper that you could find in any second hand shop? I just didn't think the pieces were unique enough to justify the prices.

Beautiful store, clean and well laid out. Prices are a literl offense to creation. Nothing less than $100 USD and most things $200-300. Having visited Seattle, San Francisco, and Hawaii, these prices shocked me.

The store had such a wide range of clothes that my wife and I were each able to get something nice! Really enjoyed the chill vibe of the store. Def would recommend visiting!

Great multi level vintage shop! We bought tshirts and jackets, skirts! Very helpful staff. Some items were a bit more pricey than expected, but,...we found fun pieces and had quite the haul.

The clothing is extremely curated. It's great. However we wanted to buy 5900 peso overpass but they wouldn't lend me a bathroom so we left.

It's ok, nothing more. They rip the tags off the clothing and replace it with their own, and that's a *huge* no-no. There's absolutely no reason for that, and it also compromises the clothing itself--aside from making it appear as if they made it themselves, you lose a major part of what makes these things actually "vintage." A mostly average collection of US staple casuals from the 90s (and maybe early 2000s). Their best pieces are the jackets--they've got some great looking ones in good condition, but again as people have said they're often too pricey to be worth it. I'd have given them a higher rating if they didn't rip off all the original tags! Kinda dishonest.

If your definition of thrifting involves "discounted, cheap," or "Goodwill," I suggest skipping this shop. A vintage boutique is a better label for this place. If you have the money for good quality vintage clothes, this is the spot for you!! Such a great selection, good condition, well organized. Levi's, old band tees, awesome jackets, leather jackets, Tommy, etc. I just couldn't buy anything. I couldn't warrant buying a tshirt for $120 USD, no matter how cool it was. Some of the pricing just didn't make sense, but I'm no vintage expert (for context: I'm not sure I saw anything under $1000 pesos in the building. Average price was around $1800-2200 pesos, I'd say, or $105-$125 USD). I think cutting the tags down 30% would bring in more people, but that's just me. Only those with $$$$ can afford to shop here. The rest of us can just enjoy looking.

I made a special trip for cowboy boots and levi's shorts. I was shocked by the prices. $4950 MXN for very wore boots and $2,000 MXN for Levi's cut jeans short. I could find the front door fast enough. Nice store but overpriced.

Totally cool vintage spot with the biggest selection of every desired clothing item in your wish list. It is curated beautifully but the prices, phew..they are charging high end prices way over what we could spend. It was fun to browse for sure.

Very nice layout with multiple levels of mens and womens clothing. They have a thoughtfully compiled selection of clothes and accessories, but sadly the prices are way too high for upcycled pieces (even at "American prices" it was still too high). Was hoping for some random fun finds to add to my wardrobe but left empty handed.

Very nice vintage store! Had a lot of fun shopping there, because each time I'd go up the stairs and look at one room, I'd look around and fine 1 more set of stairs. The clothing selection was also a vintage shopper's dream. The atmosphere of the store also looks very good. The interior design definitely utilizes the vintage feel. A little on the pricier side, which is expected of a curated vintage store, but there are some hidden gems for cheaper. Ended up buying a very unique dress. Would recommend to those interested in vintage clothing with a bit of money to spare!

Amazing selection, very clean place, nice people but sadly they are charge astronomical prices expecting people to pay these actually cause people to not buy who actually are from CDMX. Normal Mexican area not going to buy this stuff and plus it defeats the idea of reduce reuse recycle idea. Making assessable for all is more important instead of California's or European.

It's all American vintage clothing, and it's at American prices. There are lots of quirky vintage pieces and band tee shirts. The store is pretty big (three stories). The staff speaks English. I saw a pair of boots I liked but it was too expensive (about $150 USD).

We have gone here twice in three trips to the DF this year (what can I say, we travel for great food, people, and sites). The shoes here are obviously the big draw, but they also have amazing leather jackets and bags. Even D who breaks out into a cold sweat when buying sneakers is obsessed with their shoes and now owns three pairs. All are super stylish and incredibly well made. Both times we shopped here we were helped by Manuel. He was incredibly helpful and VERY patient with my anxious husband. For those of you visiting the DF with limited Spanish, Manuel and most that work here are fluent in English as well. Though Manuel was very sweet and suffered through my terrible attempts at only speaking in Spanish to practice. We love this store and plan to come back or shop online for any of our shoe needs!

Well curated but hilariously overpriced. Mostly men's vintage band tees. I saw a collection of Harley Davidson tshirts all well over $150 USD... for Harley tees some of which I have see at goodwill several times. If you're American and thrift at home I would say this place has very little to offer you

Multi-level store. The shoes were the most unique offering for this store. Old concert t-shirts dominate otherwise- mostly in men's sizes and not anything out of the ordinary. For women looking for vintage items it is hard not many small or petite sizes available. Very kind store staff.

Amazing vintage selection! Everything is so tasteful, especially their handmade shoes. Finally found the perfect pair of loafers, which I'd been looking for for months. Heydi was incredibly patient and kind as she helped me with my custom shoe order. Thank you so much Heydi!

Great eclectic collection of clothes, one of a kind made from natural fabric. The loafer collection is quite unique and hip as well. Ian was very welcoming and helpful. If you are in the neighborhood, it's a worth a visit!

We stopped in this boutique (which a few friends had also recommended) to browse the amazing upcycled and vintage selection...mainly for me, let's be honest. BUT SURPRISE!! Hubs found a pair of their locally made shoes that he liked. Manuel was very helpful (and rocking an especially rad jacket) and hubby walked out happy.

Spectacular selection of strikingly original shoe designs combined with beautifully curated vintage clothing. I picked up a stunning, ornamented jacket and some woven black loafers for my boyfriend. I love this store! Made a point of coming back my second time in Mexico City. The clothing and shoes are unique and high quality. The staff is also super helpful. I got my hairs cut and was very happy overall. The wait was longer than they told me it would be, so I felt a bit rushed. Carlos was my stylist and he did a great job. He cut layers into my long thin hair that I still like an can do myself days later. I will probably go back.

Do not purchase online from this company! did not send for a week then refunded against customer when I enquired about the item being shipped, refund against customer wishes because postage to another country was too hard for them. terrible rude arrogant service. the customer 'service' person stated 'I do not want or need your business'. So rude! complete waste of time. Still waiting on refund and out of pocket. Avoid!

I walked by a few times and saw the shop knowing that I needed a haircut. I'm very particular with who my hair and only let my barbers come near it. Risking a bad cut l walked in and It paid off. Diego is a very skilled barber. He is very professional and bilingual. His attention to detail and precision were second to none. Next time I am in Mexico City, I will definitely pay him a visit.
