An absolutely wonderful experience at Piwnica Pod Baranami. The atmosphere is warm, elegant, and full of character, making it feel truly special. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and clearly made with care and high-quality ingredients. The service was friendly, attentive, and professional without being rushed. A perfect place to enjoy great Polish cuisine in the heart of Krakow. Highly recommended — we will definitely return.

This speakeasy is full of surprises. The cocktails are delicious, and the interior design with all the unique wall decorations is truly special. The highlight for me was spotting my favorite vintage Singer sewing machine as part of the décor! On Saturdays, there’s live music, which creates an amazing atmosphere. Highly recommend booking a table/ticket in advance to enjoy the full experience.

Loved this polished-asphalt gem hiding beneath Kraków’s Main Market Square. A labyrinth of snug rooms, whispers of vodka-laced rebellion and dim corners where the ghosts of the polish old musicians jam in endless echoes. The playlist? A time capsule where every chord seems to whisper, “You were born late, but we’ll let you in.” The space? A maze of rooms that feel like homes I never had — probably for the best, because I’d be broke trying to keep the perfect amount of charming decay and dim amber lighting in every corner. And the atmosphere… that rare blend of chic melancholy and the thrill of knowing the outside world exists, but choosing to stay here, where secrets cling to the walls and history smells like old wood.

One of the nicest bars I've ever been to. The best old fashioned I've ever had too. The bar staff are extremely talented. Highly recommend. I've been staring at the decor for ages now. You don't want to miss this place believe me.

Great bar for many reasons...mulled wine was the best we tasted in our visit go Kraków. Cozy bar with lots of quirks. We left a message in the secret draw among many other happy and sad ones. Ours was happy 😊

So the atmosphere is very unique. The decorations are beautiful with a jazz style . It has many things from different cultures in the walls. The music 🎶 was very good also. The tables wooden. Is a chill place. I took a beer , a cocktail and warm cyder with orange. They were very good, especially the cocktail. The place is self service but it is not very practical in this place I believe. So the food was just chips and breadstick. Not something fancy.

A hidden gem on Krakow’s map! Perfect for anyone seeking beautiful music and art. You might even find yourself sitting next to a celebrity as it happened in my case—wow!

Great place to chill, share a carafe of wine, play a game and have an conversation. What an eclectic vibe and diverse crowd, we LOVED it. I did see where the live entertainment would be, unfortunately there were no shows when we were in town. When we make it back to Krakow, we will make it a point to visit again.

Piwnica pod Baranami, basement, or cellar in English is a combination of a small bar and a stage for music, cabaret and dance. You will find this place on the Rynek square next to café Skrzynecki. Great place !

Place I do not need to introduce with such history of Polish poetic songs, great artists who shaped Polish scenic life and full of stories of people who were performing in there in 60-ties and later. Now is still organising many events...and concerts ...and... pop in for a drink like in older times. There is also cinema and place to work. Tango, is organised in there, also swing evenings ,wine tastings and many other events with live music and great performances or jubilees of great poets, composers or singers. Came here to see "Sąsiedzi" play Folk. Great experience. Talented band. Piwnica is a Good times place where you can feel the history that surrounds you.

Good things about this place. They serve cider (always a plus for me). It's near the centre (which can be handy). Bad things about this place. It's near the centre (which means prices are a wee bit on the high side). The seats aren't the most comfortable. There is usually some interesting art in the main drinking area. Check it out ;)
