I was fortunate to make the long walk (around 5km), easy to west, twice in the last week. Up from the east part, starting at Dongguk University Station and Jangchungdan Park up through Seoul Namsan Park to the tower and then down to Myeong-dong on the west site. It's strikingly beautiful a great climb, some steps are numbered, between those and the ones you don't count I imagine it's the equivalent to about 1,000 steps up the mountain and there are also a few steeper inclines. The steps, paths and roads are in excellent condition, everything is so clean and well signposted in many languages. You can also use N aver Maps to get you there. The walk from Dongguk University Station to the base of Namsan Seoul Tower covers approximately 2.2 miles (3.6 km) with an elevation gain of about 797 feet (243 meters). This route is one of the most rewarding ways to reach Namsan Tower, especially if you're seeking a blend of urban forest, cultural landmarks, and a bit of cardio. If you're up for it, you can extend your walk along the Namsan Trail network, which spans nearly 8 km across the mountain.

I come to this mountain every season and every time I come to Korea 🇰🇷, especially in autumn🍁, I recommend walking up and down because I feel it is very healthy because there are many beautiful views along the way. There are trees and plants that I do not know, and there are CCTV cameras all along the way, so don't worry.

Outstanding urban park perfect for walking, running, and cycling! Features multiple trails and beautiful paved, hilly roads with stunning viewpoints. Well-maintained with convenient public facilities. The place comes alive at 5am with enthusiastic athletes - such great energy! Plenty of shaded areas to rest. A true urban gem!

The Mountain That Thinks It’s a Park Namsan Park isn’t some cute little city garden. It’s a whole mountain pretending to be a park just so your legs underestimate the coming betrayal. It starts gentle. Trees. Benches. Birds chirping like Disney interns. You think: this is nice. I am healthy. I am strong. Then the incline kicks in and suddenly you’re negotiating with your spine. You look up and the mountain politely says “keep climbing, loser.” The good news. Every drop of sweat buys you better and better views. Seoul spreads out below like someone spilled a bucket of skyscrapers. It’s actually worth the workout. Pure endorphin magic. You will feel alive. Also possibly on fire. Nature trying its hardest to stay in the city without getting bulldozed. A giant green escape room with fresh air and zero pigs chewing judgmentally. Couples holding hands. Joggers pretending they like it. Tourists realizing gravity still exists. Seoul Tower pokes the sky like it owns the place. You can see forever. People attach love locks here because nothing says romance like weighing down a fence with metal. Take a picture. Feel majestic. Question your shoe choices. Final verdict Mountain disguised as a park. City disguised as a jungle. You climb it. It rewards you. Unlike some cafes I could name.

Very nice park in the 명동 area of Seoul. I enjoyed another hike after eating lunch close by. Very scenic with nice fall breeze on a Monday afternoon. Pretty views everywhere and it wasn’t too crowded.

This place offers a fantastic viewpoint for watching the sunset — absolutely worth it. I highly recommend walking up by foot instead of taking the gondola, as the hike is very enjoyable. On the way down, there are many steps and it makes for a beautiful circular trail.

Many stairs to climb. It took about 4hrs tp reach the peak by foot (without cable car and drive). Enjoy the walk especially the autumn leave view.

The best views. Buy the return bus tickets immediately when leaving the cable car before starts heading down for the pictures. Expect really long line for bus A to the city, so take the B bus (about 10 minutes wait) all the way to the bus parking lot and you will be acroos of myending shopping area and try the all you can eat buffet for 20k wons.
