Didn't stay in the hotel but had an evening meal in the restaurant. The restaurant is very sophisticated with nicely laid and separated tables. But best of all it is dog free, sadly increasingly rare for someone with a pet allergy, especially in Melrose where 'dog friendly' seemed to take precedence over 'people friendly' . Our meal was very nice but topped by the server, a very nice, friendly and local lady, who made our evening on a special occasion.
