Sushi Hasegawa – Shinsaibashi Main Branch

Disappointing dinner given the positive reviews. We may have chosen the wrong course. We pre ordered the 8 course kaiseki dinner but should have just gone for the sushi only courses, which could have made a difference to the dining experience. Perhaps the restaurant should have allowed a seat only booking instead of pre ordering. Lessons learnt.

It was my first time visiting the restaurant, but I was very grateful for the customer service and quick food service. The quality of the food was very good and the Shasimi fresh & food was delicious. Repeat is confirmed! ! The staff's customer service was good, and I asked for refil water many times, and they served me with a big smile. The only thing that surprised me many times was how loud the voices of the members were. That's the only thing I would like to see improved. Other than that it was great! 👨‍👩‍👦🥰😘

Hasegawa offers a phenomenal dining experience that will definitely make your night. Our chef and staff welcomed us and took care of us the whole night. Well worth your time and we will definitely stop by next time to try their seasonal kaiseki! Food: We ordered a Sushi Omakase (13-15 piece sushi) each and sakes to pair. Sushi was clean and buttery, and it was prepared with extreme care and professionalism. Total cost was 36,820Yen/Person. Service: Our chef was friendly, professional, and took the time to explain to us the dish and suggestion on how to enjoy it in limited English. The staff were nearby, attentive, and took care of us the entire time. What surprised us towards the end was, our chef walked out with us and thank us for our patronage, which is a rare occurrence for us. Atmosphere: We sat in the counter seating in front of our chef (private rooms are also available). The table was spacious and wide enough to offer an intimate experience with the chef, but also allowed you to sit back and engage with your friend. A few things to know: 1. Access is through an elevator going up to 4th floor. 2. Reservation is recommended. 3. Credit card is accepted at the time of this review. 4. There is an English menu. 5. Staff’s English is limited.

The sushi was fresh and extremely good. Every bite was delicious and the omakase was so good! Service was exceptional with the staff tending to our every need, especially O Hainan, who made us feel so welcome and at ease. We truly enjoyed our time here and will definitely be back!

Amazing atmosphere. The servers were splendid and came and explained eat fish. They have a kids menu and were very accommodating to families. We had our own private room with sunken floor which was new to our kids. A lovely traditional experience.

We booked the place through ikyu and enjoyed a smooth welcome when we arrived. We got the 9,500yen set which came with appetisers, sashimi, an assortment of grilled dishes and 11 pieces if sushi. Dinner was delightful! We enjoyed the dishes but may have found some of the items a little odd - eg the snail and the huge fish head soup. Service was warm but difficult as they couldn't speak much English, but a good, classy dinner place for date night definitely.

Had the chance to go here for a birthday dinner and got placed in a private room. Staff was attentive and friendly but only one waiter spoke any sort of decent English. That proved to be no trouble though as the menu also had English translations. Prices are fairly high but the quality of food was excellent. The sushi was outstanding and my friends filet was the most tender piece of meat I have probably ever tried. I would recommend this place for a nice, formal dinner and would suggest placing a reservation if you would like a private room.

Foreigner from America and I am soooo happy I found this place. This place has a lacarte options (simple rolls, appetizers, nigiri, and course menu) and it was super easy to reserve! It can be intimidating knowing which restaurant to go to, but you won’t regret it! The staff were extremely friendly to us foreigners and the chef offered us two umbrellas bc we didn’t know it was raining and walked us to the elevators. Prob the best meal we had in Osaka bc it had a variety of options,very high quality fish, and extremely friendly staff
