I took a tour and the guide explained to us that this is the oldest ice cream shop. The cone is served upside down and the ice cream is in the cup.I had Chilimoya naranja.

There is a good variety of flavors. It’s so hard to find sugar free ice cream, so I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that option… and it tasted delicious, too!!

Skip the food. Go for the ice cream. I ordered a “traditional” dish which had clearly been microwaved. (The center was cold when it arrived.) My husband had sandwich which was sad. I would NOT recommend the food.

Not what was advertised. My sons lemon drink was tasteless as well. Answer from the cafe was - the picture is a reference not the actual drink… that would be illegal in New Zealand

Ice cream was very average. Came close to closing so there were no vegan flavors available. And all flavors are pretty basic, nothing fancy. Wanted to sample some and we had to pay (for what we didn’t know we were going to order yet). I get it, maybe people get away with sampling and not buying but still confusing. Never done that before. Something else I didn’t get was that they scoop the ice cream in a cup and put the cone on top, defeating the whole purpose of eating ice cream on a cone. Probably wouldn’t come here again. But the ice cream wasn’t too bad, still had a nice flavor.

I'm in my 60s, have traveled the world extensively, and can honestly say they have the best meat lasagna I have ever had in my entire life. Soups are great too. They don't serve alcohol. Have an extensive gelato section. Their prices have been the most reasonable we have found in this expensive city.

If in Santiago you have to try ice cream from here. There's always a line so be prepared. The price is good considering how much ice cream you get. The inside is cute and there is a great out door seating area as well. There are also benches not far from the door that you can easily sit on as well. We've been several times during our time in Santiago.

This spot deserves your attention. It's a chain in Chile but it's been voted some of the best Ice cream in the world! They don't miss with their flavors. My absolute favorite is the chirimoya naranja and my husband raved over the chocolate avellano (it's like Nutella ice cream.) You only get to try 2 flavors before ordering which is a let down because there are so many mixes and interesting flavors that I don't think it's enough.

All I can say is "Wow." This was an excellent dish of ice cream. I chose the "spicy thai" and it was excellent. A hint of pineapple, a hint of heat and it was delicious. It's a small place in an interesting hipsterish neighborhood. Point and pay inside, sit outside. We were serenaded by a dude with an electric guitar and a portable amplifier. He was surprisingly good.

I didn't even know I had found a hot spot until I saw the ridiculously long line! It was about 5pm and not even that hot, but surely the long line was a sign. Loves: + good ice cream + fast and friendly service + lots of seating (but it gets full) + credit cards accepted The only downside may be it was a bit pricey, but it comes with the location I suppose. Enjoy!

Went here with many recommendations and agree with them. Had so many flavors and options. The place had a big queue of people for ordering. Tried their Dulce tentacio and chocolate - both were excellent. We ordered one scoop and came with a sugar cone. Have seating outdoors where we sat and enjoyed it. They give out tasters too - we tried few before deciding which is helpful.

I somehow managed to go here 5 days in a row. The ice cream is outstanding. I loved the rose-flavored ice cream (rosa), but the hazelnut (avellana) was a revelation! On my last day, I tried the Miel de Ulmo, which is honey made from the ulmo plant (native to Argentina and Chile), and was so mad at my self for not trying it earlier. It pairs excellently with the avellana. Note: the way it works here is that you have to pay first and then you can try flavors, so head straight for the cash register when you walk in.

This place has been reviewed as one of the top ice cream shops in Santiago. However, it was pretty average tasting. Nothing to write home about. The flavors were typical and nothing out of the ordinary or unique. The serving size was small and it wasn't very cheap. Overall I wasn't very impressed and won't be coming back to eat overpriced average tasting ice cream.

My partner and I tried out Emporio La Rosa while we were in Santiago, and overall, the ice cream pops that this place seems to be so popular for are actually located everywhere and we had better ones in smaller, more discreet shops. This place seems to be famous for getting on the list of "best ice cream is in the world" - and of course that would pique my interest to come here as well. There always seem to be a line here, so I dutifully waited on line to get to ice cream pops. The pistachio one was pretty good, but the dulce the leche didn't really have a strong flavor and was basically just vanilla with syrup. These ice cream pop stores are everywhere, and there are better to be had down the street on Merced. No need to seek this place out in Santiago.

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream when it's 30 degrees in Santiago. And when we all scream for ice cream we all run to Emporio la Rosa one of the most popular and well know ice cream shops in Santiago. Located right in front of Forestal park and next to Lastarrias neighborhood, this charming little shop is a hot spot for tourist and locals during those hot summer days. They have a wonderful little patio in the front of the shop where you can literally look out at the park while you enjoy of of their dozen different ice cream flavors. This place is always filled, even in the winter time so don't be surprised if you have to wait. They also have coffee which give you the option of enjoying a yummy afternoon pick me up of ice cream and espresso. I always take my ice cream for a walk through the forestal park, however their patio is very tempting, as long as you can score a seat.

So far, one of the best ice cream places i've been in Santiago, it has so many exotic flavors and you feel like ordering all of them, but take it easy, any choice you make will be the right one , there was a long line but it has a very fast and efficient service. I went with 3 friends and we find the best tip, instead of asking for 4 cones, we ordered the 1 Lt. container, you can ask for two flavors and share it ;) we crossed to the park, sat on a bench and chatted while eating and sharing our delicious ice cream, of course it was a hot day hahaha dont' try it now unless you want to become a popsicle, but is a nice way to spend time with friends :) The Strawberry flavor it's a delicious classic but the next time i will definitely go for the basil/lime/mint one.

Good choice of flavors. Price is comparable to in the States: $4.40 for 2 scoops. The texture was smooth and the flavors yummy, but the ice cream is quite soft, so they serve it in a cup and stick the cone on top. It was a nice midday treat, but you have to eat it fast if you don't want ice cream soup.

Went there twice. First for icecream (which was ok, but anywhere near good to justify the long lines), second time for lunch. I had caprese salad (again just ok) and an ice cream desert which was nothing special. As I was taling my last bites, my plan was to give 3 stars. Then I discovered my handbag was stolen in the restaurant. I was not expecting them not to charge me -- it is OK that they did, though not according to my significant other. I would have expected some help calling the police however but that did not happen. And my friend who was with me inferred from whatever they spoke in Spanish that this routinely happens and they were not surprised. She was upset however that they did not warn us beforehand.

This place is one of the 25 best ice creameries in the world according to some list. Being an ice cream lover, I absolutely had to make a stop here to try it out for myself. For takeaway ice cream, you have to pay first. Then take your ticket to the ice cream counter. You can ask to sample flavors. I tried the lemon mint basil and the miel de ulmo, but wasn't really wowed by these flavors. For my two scoops I picked chocolate avellana (hazelnut) and durazno (peach). While they tasted good, I didn't like the texture of the ice cream that much. The chocolate avellana was too thick and not creamy enough and the peach which was more like a sorbet was too icy. I was a bit disappointed. I went back the next day to try different flavors - I got cookies and cream and mora (blackberry) which were better. It's a cute place (very pink), the employees are really nice, and it was fun to try some of the special flavors, but I didn't think it was one of the best in the world...

Emporio La Rosa will always have a special place in my heart. There was one point, when I first got here, that I would come here every day and get an ice cream. No but really...I wish I was exaggerating...everyday. Because of my daily afterwork routine or what some people might call a slight addiction...I have tried all of their artesanal ice cream flavors. Hands down, my favorite, is yogurt guinda. However, this flavor isn't for everyone, so ask to try it (along with as many other flavors until you find the perfect one). This particular shop is very busy, during the summer there is always a line out the door and people pack both inside the storefront as well as in the patio. So keep that in mind and be ready to stand in line, but don't doubt it, Emporio La Rosa is definitely worth the wait! Tip: If you don't want to wait in line, they have just opened a new store down the street on Lastarria street and they have many others around Santiago.

They said they are in between the 25 most delicious ice cream shop in the world and I believe they make the MOST delicious ice cream I've ever try. The flavored are unique, the texture is awesome and the price is affordable. Excelente!

My absolute favourite place in Santiago to get ice cream! The flavours constantly change and they're all delicious! My favourite flavours are dulce de leche and the limón, menta y albahaca. Definitely ask to try some flavours before you make the difficult decision of choosing which you'll have today. They have multiple locations across Santiago, another in lastarria & in different shopping malls.

I got the maracuya and tried limon, fruitilla and chocolate. All of my friends and I were extremely pleased with the ice cream, outdoor seating and service. My only regret, not getting more scoops.

I thought buenos aires had the best helado. This is a million times better. The best ice cream ever. The plantano y munjar is amazing. The rosa is good too. It's freezing here and yet all I can think off is more helado.

I don't get the hype. We stopped by about 30min before closing. The ice cream/gelato was good but definitely not as good as other stores in the Lastarria or Bellavista area. The price is average for the area and portion is more than fair. I had the lemon gelato was very icy and chunky. It was not close to what you can find a block away. There is usually a line out the door as we noticed stopping by on another Saturday afternoon. This is a chain and they have another location a block away on Jose Victorino Lastarria with its own long line so some people really like it.

Get the honey MIEL DE ULMO ice cream. This location is a local favorite, and the ice cream is pretty good... but one of the world´s best? Hmmm... still, it is pretty good and close to a nice park. If you are in the Lastarria - Bellas Artes area it is worth checking out.
