Google
Great food and great service! The tofu soup was rich and flavorful, the bibimbap and bulgogi were delicious, and the banchan was fresh with generous refills. Very authentic Korean comfort food — highly recommend! 🍲🔥🇰🇷

Google
Really good food and atmosphere. The soups are awesome and the dumplings. Staff are quiet but I like it that way.

Always grab a meal here when I'm in Atlanta. A local fixture for over two decades. Their soft tofu is a classic, served piping hot. During lunch, it is also served with a small fried fish and a large bowl of hot stone white rice.

My favorites place!!! I’ve been going here at least one a week for a long time and the food is phenomenal. The service is great and the owner is super sweet!!

Google
Tofu House is a great spot for traditional Korean tofu stew. The owner is extremely friendly, and the service is wonderful. I recommend the mixed seafood pancake (해믈파전) to share as an appetizer. It is crispy and has great flavor. Of course, the spicy tofu soup (순두부) is the signature item. It comes out steaming hot, and the flavor is simply magnificent. I enjoy the beef (소고기) and mixed seafood (섞어) flavors for the stew. The marinated beef short ribs (갈비) and grilled mackerel (고등어구이) are also quite good; each item comes in a combo with the soup. Try this Korean spot, and you won’t regret it.

This meal reminded me of the food that my mom used to make for us before she passed. Korean soul food that warms the heart and soul and, most importantly, our bellies. It's really good food that's made with care, and the taste is what proves it. I can't visit too often since I live so far away. But I'm starting to make this restaurant my go-to places whenever I'm in Atlanta.

We went here on a Saturday night (new year's eve weekend) and there was no wait at all! We ordered the Galbi combo with Seafood Tofu Soup, and a small Seafood Pancake for 2 people and everything were very tasty! There were about 4 pieces of Galbi (compared to 6 pieces of Galbi in a small portion f you order it separately). The Galbi was well-marinated and flavorful. The small seafood pancake was surprisingly bigger than we thought, lots of toppings inside and crispy. The banchan spread was good and we got it refilled once they're out without an extra charge. Service was quick and attentive, the lady kept checking on us to see whether we were satisfied with our food or needed anything else. Would recommend this place for anyone looking for some hearty korean meal anytime, they have large tables if you come in big groups as well.

Yelp
This place is in the same plaza as the H-Mart on Pleasant Hill Road. The place is a bit small but busy. My parents and I decided to order their Soon Dubu Jigae (soft tofu stew). My dad had the Gop Chang (chitterlings), mom had the Jjoo Ggoo Mi (baby octopus) and I had the kimchi with beef. The only option is rice. There is no ramen or Kalgooksoo (knife cut noodle). The rice comes out in a stone pot that you take all the rice out of and then pour tea/water into to make Soongnyoong (basically scorched rice tea). There is a sign on the wall that says they don't offer the stone pot rice after lunch time. Also their break time is between 3:00 and 3:45. That sign is on the door. Back to the tofu stews. My dad said his was plentiful of Gop Chang and my mom said hers had little Jjoo Ggoo Mi. Mine had an ok amount of kimchi and beef but the beef was cut up small kind of tough. We all ordered our food extre spicy but it was very mild. The Bandhan was plentiful. They offered Napa kimchi, Kkaktoogi (cubed radish kimchi), stewed potato and carrot, bean sprouts and Eomuk (seasoned fish cake). The kimchi was a little sour, but not as sour as other places. The Banchan was good. The waiters and waitresses aren't mean but also not particularly friendly. I wouldn't go back because the tofu stew wasn't that great - not to say that it was bad. It was just meh. All tofu stews are $13.99 (stew only with rice) which is fairly cheap. They also have combos with fish and meat. They have a few soups and cold noodles like Naengmyun as well. Make sure you lock the bathroom door. A lady tried to open the door 3 times when the door wouldn't open. I had to tell her to wait so she'd back off.

Yelp
This place has been consistent in service and flavor for years. I love stopping in here when I'm in town. Side dishes are always plentiful and tasty. The galbi was nicely grilled and flavorful. The tofu soup is always on point and very flavorful. 만두 was nice and crispy, and the meat filling was tasty. Plenty of seating, and they can accommodate larger parties. Pricing was moderate but fair. The acoustics are good in here, and it's easy to hold a conversation at the table. I'll definitely be back on my next visit.

Yelp
Amazing line up of authentic korean meals. We had the tofu egg roe, kimchi pancake and of course the sides. Overall it felt like I was possibly in a korean drama series when the casts have a simple dinner meal.

Yelp

Yelp
Delicious! 10 stars if I could. This place has been around for Years and one of the hidden gems. They are consistently reliably clean, amazing service. My favorite go to tofu house spot! Highly recommend this place!

Yelp
I was craving for this months and I didn't eat all day for just this it hit the spot for me and it was cold out too ahh so good and I got it extra hot and I love it

Yelp
Great place with a lot of tofu soup options and easy to understand menu. I got the calbi combi with seafood tofu soup. Soup was delicious and bubbling hot. Appreciated the variety and amount of seafood they added. Side dishes were also plentiful and tasty. Calbi could have used some more marination/char. Also fewer pieces than at other tofu soup shops I've been to but the pieces were meatier. Very casual and busy vibes inside. Lots of families and they do have high chairs for young kids. Also a ton of people got takeout in our time there. Service was reasonable for how busy they were. Tons of parking in the shared surface lot for the plaza. Would recommend checking them out!

Yelp
Still one of my favorites of all time. The food is always on point and the staff is great! I love getting the tofu soup and galbi combo. I switch from beef or pork tofu depending on my preference that day but both are delicious. I love all of the complimentary sides also. It's my spot that I run to when I'm on pleasant hill. Always satisfied when I leave.

Yelp
So yummy! Can't go wrong ordering their tofu soup. Loved their large portion of sides, especially the fried fish.

Yelp
I don't generally eat at tofu houses, so I don't have anything to compare Seoul Tofu House to, but I was pleased with my meal. I'm not sure what prices tofu soups usually go for, but Seoul has a decent amount of options to choose from, and each pot costs the same- $12.99. Each tofu soup comes with the typical sides you'd see at a Korean restaurant and a bowl of rice. You can pick your spice level from 4 different levels. I was actually surprised that "hot" was the hottest option because it wasn't spicy at all to me. I generally like my food pretty spicy, but I didn't even feel a kick from the hot. I also was surprised that the sides given were pretty minimal especially because there was two of us. I'm not sure if the sides are unlimited or if you just get what is served initially, but nobody ever came to check on us once the food was out. But, those details aside, I got the oyster tofu soup and my husband got the combination. We were both pleased with the soup itself. It came out boiling and very hot- exactly what is needed on a cold day or when you're not feeling very well. The bowl seems small, but I was surprised to see it still filled me up. They also give you eggs on the side to crack into your bowl.

Yelp
After watching K-Show "Let's eat", we knew that this place was where we had to go. Sneakily settled in the corner of the Super H mart plaza in Duluth you can find this popular Tofu house. Why it agrees with me: Their music was nice and modern and not too loud so that you can fully enjoy your conversation. Wall stickers of past lunch specials are pasted everywhere with the dollar amount scratched out and changed a few times. We always order the large platter of meat which comes with a bowl of rice and the seafood tofu stew which always comes with hot stone rice. Make sure you put hot tea at the bottom of your hot rice bowl to help scrape the crispy edges off! They give you a chogi fish for you to start whetting your palette with before the main course arrives. The ladies here can speak some english so they can better serve you!

Yelp
Honestly my favorite soondoobu place!! I have been coming here for years and years! I have been to couple other places and they are not bad but this place is just the best. Their side dishes are very delicious .. to the point where I want to ask them if they would sell it to me lol. Their side dishes are : fish cake , bean sprouts , pickled cucumber or broccoli, kimchi and cubed radish kimchi. They have four different types of heat level to their tofu soup ( soondoobu ) 1. White aka no heat 2. Mild 3. Medium and 4. Hot I always get the 4th level and sometimes its kind of spicy and sometimes its not, but the flavor is always delicious!! One bad thing about this place is that they aren't as consistent with their heat level.. like when I went yesterday my boyfriend , he ordered medium spice level like always but it came out as almost the first level ; white. Which was kind of ridiculous but this is the first time it's ever happened and we come here pretty often. I told the server the problem and she was very nice and told us she will bring it back to the cook and add more spice to it! When she brought it back out it was good! My favorite soondoobu is the kimchi kind because it comes with kimchi and beef! Also when you order soondoobu it comes with small fish as a side for each soondoobu order!! They also sell other dishes here but they are mostly known for their soondoobu! Break time : 3:00PM - 3:45PM Free Stone pot rice : 9:00AM - 3:00PM ( if you want the stone pot rice after 3 then you can order it for $3 extra cost )

Yelp
My go-to tofu joint for lunches! Great spot of you enjoy tofu stew. I usually get the beef (spice level hot) & it's GREAT! I love that the rice comes in the stone pot (10:30am~3:00pm) & you get that toasted rice at the end.

Yelp
Not bad .. not bad, I like take food a little bit more salty but the soup tasted good! We got the combos with tofu soup and short ribs($19) and combo tofu soup with mackerel ($13) .. I typically enjoyed the sides. Mostly the fish, kimchi, and fish cake and they give you a huge side of rice too. The mackerel was decent .. the size was not bad .. very worth it for $13. I really love the short ribs tho. Super good. Good portions as well. Service was not bad. I liked how the ladies kept refilling our drinks and we got their attention easily for whatever we needed. Overall will return and enjoyed it on this cold night.

Yelp
Brought our friends here this evening for some Korean food yumminess. Seated right away with no wait despite being a party of 7. Seating is well spaced out and staff is wearing gloves and masks. Masks also required to enter. You can either dine in or take to go. Service was good and the food was fabulous. After placing the food order it was out in no time! We were so surprised!! I ordered the Bulgogi and my hubs ordered the soy bean soup. My daughter got the veggie dumpling soup. Everyone's food was very good and fresh. The soups are piping hot so be careful!!
google avatar

Amanda R.

Yelp
My favorite go to restaurant. I love their tofu soup and all their side dishes. Galbi is great. Seafood pancake and dumplings are must have apps. They are polite with service. I can eat this every day! Been going here for years now and they're consistent every single time!
google avatar

Alex K.

Yelp
Excellent bowl of Soondooboo. I got the extra spicy which I think was a bit much, so I'd probably opt for regular spicy next time. All of the side dishes were great, and we got extra broccoli (good for you!). I liked the decor, service, and food. Great tofu place.

Yelp
Has there been a ownership change? A Kirean tofu soup restaurant at tis exact location used to be one of my favorites in Duluth a decade ago. If it is the same restaurant, it the foood has changed so much, noy too flavorful any more. Not enough depth in the boullion, and it almost tastes instant. The service is still. fast

Yelp
Best tofu soup in ATL. GET THE MACKEREL + TOFU SOUP COMBO AND THANK ME WHEN YOU DO LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE I've been coming to this tofu house (aka book Chang dong - that's what I put in google maps) for more than a decade, and damn I'm old now. But I only recently tried their mackerel and I was like wtf. This is the juiciest mackerel I have ever had in my life. Why are you selling tofu soup?? Don't change your name to "Seoul tofu house" change your name to "juicy fattest ass mackerel on god" Jokes aside the tofu soup is really good too. So order tofu soup + mackerel. I get curry tofu soup every time, which I also think like why am I eating curry here but like you can't get it at other tofu places so I keep ordering it and it's yummy lol

Yelp
Located in the hmart plaza on Duluth. This tofu house been here for so long and it was my favorite place to visit when I was in college. It's super closed to my house but for some reason I haven't been back in so long. The place is still as traditional as before and the old ladies still the same. They're not that friendly but they'll get you whatever you need. I've tried almost everything on the menu so I ended up getting the same thing all the time. As I said the last time I was here was before Covid. They did raised up their prices a little but you can't blame them. Until next time!!! Peace

Yelp
Everything was fresh. The orders came out fast. The tables were cleaned quickly. Nothing spectacular in the way of service or atmosphere.

Yelp
Out family had fish egg tofu soup, beef tofu soup, combination tofu soup, seafood tofu soup and the cold noodle.Everything tasted very good and full of flavor and not bland like other places.Tofu soup came with raw egg that you cracked so it will get cooked.

Yelp
My go to Tofu soup place! This traditional restaurant sits on the corner of a strip mall shared dominanted by Hmart and other Korean businesses. My family and I have been coming here for years and the food has been consistently delicious. Food There are many options for your tofu soup- seafood, kimchi, mushrooms, etc, and spice level can be requested to personal preference. There are also combo options of tofu soup with galbi or mackerel for the more hungry eater. Being greedy, I chose the mushroom tofu soup spicy with the mackerel combo. The banchan came out fast with complimentary fried fish. (Not pictured since my sister devoured it.) The rice and soup arrived not long after. The rice was delicious and served in the traditional stone bowl (which is fantastic if you're like me and love burnt/crispy rice). (Please note they only offer this for free during lunch period. Dinner time rice comes out in the metal bowls. Stone bowl rice is extra at dinner.) The soup arrived bubbling hot with a raw egg to crack in. If you don't like a thick soup I would avoid cracking in the egg or not stirring when cracking in the egg. I like to bury it under soup so that the yolk remains intact and runny. The mackerel was perfectly cooked crisp and delicious in a fatty fish oily way. Banchans were all fresh and quickly refilled upon request. Banchan included kimchi, vinegared cucumbers, bean sprouts, etc. Their Banchan changes daily but will usually include kimchi and bean sprouts. Service Previously service here has been subpar. Once we got our foods, waitresses would avoid eye contact to avoid refill requests etc. Some waitresses would have the worst attitudes. (I didn't mind so much as long as food was good.) However, they have completely done a 180. The waitress was very friendly and made it a point to come by and ask if we needed anything during the meal. We were pleasantly surprised. Would highly recommend this restaurant. Great place to have a meal before grocery shopping so you don't over do it in snack aisle at Hmart.
google avatar

Kevin A.

Yelp
Definitely one of the better tofu houses in the area. The side dishes were all delicious and the tofu soup itself was flavorful. The price is affordable for what you get. Staff is friendly and attentive. I'll be back coming back here and making it one of my regular spots.
google avatar

Ray M.

Yelp
So let me start by saying that I've been coming to this restaurant for years off and on. The quality of the ingredients and the food is consistent. I generally order the soup's. yesterday I decided that I wanted to have some meat and purchased a combo. The combo cost 24$. Which consists of a soup and meat option. I have attached the serving that I was given below. What a waste of money. Also I saw that a eastern gentleman was served a much larger portion than me.It may be a coincidence but I'm not sure. However I do know that the amount of meat shown below is not worth the price. I will only get soups from this location from now on. The server could see me eyeballing the other man's meat portion but remained silent. I really hope it was a coincidence and not preferential treatment for certain customers.

Yelp
Love this place! The owners are so sweet, very friendly and has been my new go to place! Food is absolutely delicious too. You won't regret giving this place a try!

Yelp
Craving traditional korean food? Try out this place! Plenty of side dishes and prices aren't bad! The soup were delicious! Everything was clean and atmosphere was calming. It's located near many korean stores like hmart.

esther y.

Yelp
You can find a decent tofu soup here. It's pretty enjoyable with all the various side dishes with a stone pot rice (only for lunch) Their galbi (Korean bbq), seafood pancake and are my favorites! They have a break time during 3:00-3:45.
google avatar

Valerie L.

Yelp
The serves is good. Sweet ladies. We ordered two bees tofu soup and one pork tofu soup. It was delicious and my friend first time. They enjoy it and finish it. The ban Chan is fresh. We fought for the last piece kimchi. Hope you enjoy it !!

Yelp
Another interesting type of cuisine that I've never had before. Thanks to the GF, I came here with her family and tried out this Korean cuisine. This tofu house is located basically as a part of block of businesses tucked near the corner of the building. And I believe to save electricity, this place was freezing. And well on top of that they used heating lamps to heat this place up... I guess that's how Asian it can get. I guess I'll start with the bad this time around. Let's just say their service was shit. I'm thinking this they follow the true Asian code of bad service and where you basically have to yell at the waiter or forced to be rude to get any sort of service. I believe all of our water cups were empty and the side dishes? What side dishes? Unlimited? Nope. Just only when you ask, but then what do you do when there's no one to ask? Yep, that's when you're turned into a rude yelling monster because there's no one there to acknowledge you. So the lesson here is... it's okay to be rude? Now the okay portion of the night: the food. I ordered the kim chee beef with Galbi Short Ribs. I throughly enjoyed the tofu kim chee as this was my first experience in eating this dish, so really I have no comparison. I think though for me it was more about the people that I was eating it with, however you know without some water and it's sort of hard to have conversations. So overall, shitty service and okay food. So I'm going to stick with a 2.5 as some of these side dishes were something different where I haven't ever seen before at other Korean restaurants. I don't know if I'll ever be back, but it wasn't bad.
google avatar

Marissa D.

Yelp
My husband loves coming here for the T1, mushroom tofu soup. We live out of town but when we come visit this is the top of his list for a stop. The soup comes with big pieces of quality mushrooms, lots of soft tofu, great spicy flavor. It come with an assortment of side dishes and rice. The price is great for the amount of food you get. The employees are always friendly.
google avatar

Kevin C.

Yelp
Great experience at the Seoul tofu house, I love how they keep their rice in the clay pot so you can enjoy the crispy ones, some places here don't do that. The soup was delicious and very spicy, how I like it. Side dishes are fresh and crisp.
google avatar

Eric T.

Yelp
Bumping it down 1 star just because the service and wait times have gotten bad as of recent. They always seem a bit under staff and the staff themselves running the tables are kind of getting there in age too. They always look they are exhausted from how busy it gets with the constant guest and phone calls for takeout orders.
google avatar

Annie L.

Yelp
Can't believe I've been coming here for years, but never left them a review! First thing is first-service-the old ladies here are real sweet and tend to your needs. Side dishes are given and everyone gets a little grilled fish as a starter. The side dishes include pickled cucumbers, kimchi, kimchi radishes, fish cakes, bean sprouts. Tofu soup-comes out piping hot Mixed cold noodles - some places use "old" pepper flakes in cold noodles and it has a distinct smell, but this place doesn't -possible my favorite thing to order here
google avatar

Diem L.

Yelp
I've been told that I'm very stingy with my reviews. I rarely give 5 . I only give it if I feel like they really deserve it and boy did this tofu house deliver. They were pretty busy but we were seated right away. Our waitress was so very nice. She took our orders and the food came out quick. She came by to check on us a couple of times but it wasn't annoying at all. We ordered the beef and seafood tofu soup and a large plate of Galbi-Gui. I think seafood soup in general is the same everywhere but their seafood soup was very flavorful, it's indescribable. And their galbi was not overly sweet like some places I've tried. It was the perfect balance. Their banchan were light and refreshing. Overall, I'm really impressed with them and I'm STUFFED!
google avatar

Yelp
I've been coming here for years! The food is Always Delicious!!! I mostly order soup, either vegetable dumpling or kimchi tofu! Soooo Good!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Like coming here with my parents. Side dishes are yummy too. Tofu broths are very savory and delicious - not bland like other places around

Yelp
Book Chang Dong is a Korean tofu house located in the Super H Mart shopping plaza on Pleasant Hill Rd. Think of a Korean restaurant along the lines of So Kong Dong or Cho Dang Tofu House on Buford Highway -- limited menus with a focus on sundubu (tofu soups). It's a casual, small-ish restaurant with traditional Korean wooden decor inside. The menu has a dozen different types of tofu soups, ranging from vegetables to seafood to beef and kimchi. Affordably priced between $8.00-8.50 per piping hot bowl. For a handful of dollars more, you can get ~$14 combos that include soup (or noodles) plus Korean BBQ short ribs (galbi). Not bad. The noodles served are naengmyun -- dark, cold, chewy noodles made from arrowroot starch. Other menu highlights include Korean short rib soup, stir-fried octopus, steamed pork and kimchi wraps, and bulgogi beef (thin slices of marinated beef). I've had the naengmyun + Korean BBQ short rib combo here. It's not bad. One order consists of a healthy and generous portion of noodles. Good luck finishing them all in one sitting. The menu has a few different types of naengmyun with different ingredients and broth or no broth. Ask your server for details. I had the bibim naengmyun which were the noodles topped with a whole host of vegetables (scallions, radishes, etc.), slices of boiled beef, boiled egg, and spicy red paste (gochujang). The large metal bowl of noodles was accompanied by a small bowl of ice cold, tangy broth. Quite flavorful. The galbi (BBQ short ribs) were good. It's hard to find a Korean restaurant that makes terrible galbi. I don't know anyone who doesn't like galbi. It's always a safe choice to order at a Korean restaurant. The slices of rib are served on an iron skillet, sizzling hot so be careful. The final pieces that lay at the bottom of the pile are naturally greasy. I was disappointed in the banchan (complementary side dishes) here, which is mainly why I'm giving this place 3 stars. I know this is an economical Korean restaurant, but I still expected better quality banchan. The banchan was actually sub-par. It consisted of deep-fried fish (croaker or pollack? not sure), kimchi, cucumbers and ground beef, picked daikon radish, and pickled bean sprouts. Simply put, they just did not taste good. Not very fresh. The only respectable item was the sliced cucumbers and ground beef. The rest of the stuff was pretty forgettable. I normally love to eat banchan and clear those plates out, but I hardly made a dent in these guys. The kimchi was probably the most disappointing/worst offender. Note the fried fish is served whole and has many small bones, so you have to be rather meticulous when eating it. Service was very good. No complaints. Attentive servers and the food comes out in a reasonable amount of time. Overall, I'd say Book Chang Dong is a decent place for a quick and casual Korean meal. Personally, I like So Kong Dong and Cho Dang Tofu House better, but if you live up this way, then Book Chang Dong should suffice. I'll try the sundubu next time.

Yelp
I visited July 31 at 8:45pm. They closed 9:00pm. But one of employees said we are closed!!! Hey guys Why don't you say we want to clean up early and go home.

Rozzay H.

Yelp
Fantastic food and service. Packed with flavor and nutrients. The prices are very reasonable and they have the best spicy tofu beef soup I've had!
google avatar

Yelp
They used disposable menu and chopsticks. Also they arranged us to the table social distancing. I felt safe. The tofu soup and side dishes were so good. I also got a seafood pancake for to-go. They still gave me rice, side dishes and fried fish with it. They service was good. They were really friendly. I'll definitely visit there again next time I go to Atlanta.

Yelp
I've been to this place a couple of times and have never had a good experience with their servers. After they take your order, they try with all their might to avoid your table, haha. Aside from the bad service, the food is pretty unique and decent. I love their kimchi beef tofu soup and always ask for a bit more spice, because I'm hot like that. The sides are unlimited, however you would have to hunt down a server first. If you go here, I definitely recommend the tofu soups. It comes with a fried fish as well as rice and all of the sides. P.S. if you figure out how to get the servers attention without yelling across the restaurant, please tell me!

Yelp
Love this place. Very authentic Korean food. Very reasonable price. The side dishes are always fresh. Rice in the hotstone is now not available for dinner, but it does not affect me.
google avatar

Yelp
The food was amazing! Waitress was really sweet and helpful. The side dishes were very delicious as well, and goes really good with the rice. Personally one of my favorite soondubu resteraunts in the area for sure. Will come here again!

Yelp
The date and I went here this past Sunday for lunch. My. My. This place gets pretty packed, and super quick too! He ordered a combo meal (tofu soup with beef briskets I think) while I ordered the octopus tofu soup. By the end of the meal, he was pretty full as he finished both his rice and soup with a couple of nibbles of the side dishes. The rice and soup alone will definitely fill you up, and the side dishes will fill any empty space in your stomach. :) I only finished my soup and nibbled on the side dishes; that rice was just too much. My soup was pretty good with a good amount of octopus so that's why I didn't even bother eating much of the rice. Overall the food was pretty good. Service was average. Parking was plentiful since it's located in a large complex with Hmart.
