We recently had a need to use our gas fire, to no avail. I left a message with Stephen, not knowing if he would still be working at Chippendale Restorations. He rang back and was fantastic, walking us through the process which actually got the fire working again. We ae very grateful for his help as his expertise and knowledge are wonderful. Contacted these guys about an item they had advertised. No mention that it was in extremely poor condition over the phone. Not to mention how rude Jeremy was. I then heard them taking the piss laughing about the situation as I walked back into the shop. Time wasters!

Stephen and his team did a fantastic job restoring one of our fireplaces and removing another. Incredible to find one company that can bring together multiple trades and restoration expertise for such a niche job. The gas unit which was installed heats the house without any issues and is a great feature, retaining the original heritage aesthetic while creating a practical source of warmth through winter. Highly recommend Chippendale restorations for their level of professionalism and expertise.

We used Chippendale Restorations to install two fireplaces and various period features (lighting, doors, windows) when we renovated our 1915 cottage in 2012. Nearly 10 years later, everything is still in ship shape - Steve serviced my fireplaces last week which I should get many more years from before I have to replace any parts. They have the best fireplace selection and service we found, and loads of additional products which keeps us going back.

Hard to overdo the feedback for Stephen and his team that did our fireplaces. 3 fireplaces built as part of a much bigger renovation. The pictures don't do them justice. The guys from Chippendale all coped with our inevitable last minute changes and shifting time lines and still did a truly special job on time. I think the best compliments we've received have been from the other trades that came in and out of our house and observed the quality of the job and pointed out the little details that we werent even aware of. A job done properly, on time and on budget. Couldnt be happier!!

I can't recommend Stephen and his team more highly, It was always going to be tricky to fit a any sort of fireplace/fire into our tiny little terrace but they took the challenge up enthusiastically and did a brilliant job. If you own a old home and need to restore or want to restore it back to its formal glory, you will find yourself here one day. They have a massive warehouse full of everything from reclaimed door frames, fireplaces, fittings, lights, hardware pretty much everything you need new or reclaimed. Staff here are super friendly and I have come here a few times to buy different things at different points in time. They will give you advise, suggest products and also make some things to order. Love this treasure trove and I could spend a day browsing through their selection of things for an old house be it heritage, Edwardian, Victorian etc. One of my favourite DIY shops in Sydney.
