Oxfam Bookshop

I was very glad to visit the Oxfam Bookshop. It is a small but very charming shop, with many interesting books to entdecken. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and you feel immediately welcome inside. The prices are sometimes a little expensive, but I don’t mind so much because it is for a good cause. When you are in London, you should really go inside and have a look — I will come back again for sure!

My current favorite used bookstore. I swear publishers must donate books to Oxfam, I bought 5 recently published books here, all look brand new and a bargain at £3 each.

The local Oxfam bookshop sited amongst the ghost of ‘Literary’ Bloomsbury might well be overwhelmed with a burden of expectations. Not surprisingly, this is well stocked and catalogued over the spectrum of genres with a high incidence of more obscure and less obvious titles. Prices be reasonable, condition good, curation on point with unobtrusive but informed staff. Commendable

Really lovely shop with loads of hardly used and beautiful books but SO expensive (a tiny poetry book was £7). Really nice to have a peruse in (satisfying organisation and huge bookshelfs) if you are a book worm though, just be mindful you will have to sell a kidney if you fancy anything.

We always stop by this bookshop during trips to London to find books for our home! This last trip, we scored two hardback books for £3 each and were overjoyed. These go between £3 and £15 usually, more if the book is in excellent condition. You really have to look hard to find gems, but once you do you’ll be thrilled. There’s everything from books on cooking, design, photography, pets, business, history, politics and more.

I'm surprised I haven't reviewed this bookshop before, seeing as it has become my go-to place when I'm in the market for a book (which is always). It does what it says on the tin - it's a second hand book shop, run by Oxfam. The beauty of it lies in the fact that: a) it's pretty big for a charity shop and seems to have books on every subject (seriously) b) it sometimes stocks uncorrected proofs of books that have very recently been published, which means that it manages to be a 2nd hand bookshop that stocks current bestsellers c) it's almost never busy. It's well worth a visit - happy reading!

This Oxfam is a bookstore, as the categorizing above implies. Hmmm what to say about it besides "It has books, tomes, novels, literature, reading material, bound documents..." Maybe I could say "It also has a wide selection beers on tap and wines in bottles," but then I'd be fibbing. There is a surprising good selection of books here well organized into section. There was even one fashion book, which is unusual for secondhand bookshops. There was a good chunk of travel guides and, of course, infinite walls of fiction. The prices are good, the money helps out those in need, what more motivation do you need? (Okay, but a free ice cream waiting at the other end, but let's ignore that for now because there's no such thing as a free lunch and you'd be taking money away from those who need it more.)
