"Fisherman's Bastion Fisherman's Bastion was built between 1895 and 1902 on Buda's Castle Hill not to provide protection, but rather as a lookout point—and this fairy-tale castle site, with its seven spired towers representing the seven tribe of Magyar (Hungarians) that settled here in the 9th century, is all about providing stunning views of the city, the Danube, and best of all the ornate parliament building across the river. In medieval times, a guild of fishermen protected this area, giving the bastion its name, and its construction coincided with the restoration of the nearby church. You can just walk around and drink in the beauty, or pay a small fee for a walk up a tower spire, to further amplify the amazing view."

ok obviously you're going to go here because it's a big tourist place. however my biggest tip is to go at night, after sunset for sure. then you don't have to pay to actually go up on the walls & you get to see the city at night which is so sweet. there's way fewer people and it's great for pictures as well as getting that good travel feeling (yknow when you feel adventurous and independent and all that)

Must visit place. Very beautiful and instagrammable location, particularly on a sunny day. Excellent views. Lot of local food options and souvenir shops. It is quite crowded though as it is most popular spot in Budapest.

What an absolutely beautiful place. Its a photographers dream. So much to see here and we could have spent longer. Stopped foe a coffee and took hundreds of pics. Make sure it's on your itinerary. A short stroll from the castle.

My short time in Budapest was filled with amazing sights. Fisherman's Bastion offers breathtaking views of the Parliament Building, and its exterior architecture is simply stunning. I hope I can explore it more thoroughly next time.

A gorgeous place. The surrounding area is very beautiful. The view of the city from above is stunning. We were there during the New Year's fairs; you can buy a lot of beautiful things. I highly recommend visiting.❤️

Amazing view. Must visit. Very busy but you can take your photo quick. Also, they had a market there where you could buy some accessories, coffee, crepes, chemney cake, mulled wine to keep u warm!

Honestly one of the best views out over the Pest side and the towers and architecture are just gorgeous. We went up in the evening and it looked absolutely crammed with people but when we came back at night it was lit up and there were only a few other people exploring. Would definitely recommend going early or really late to have more time to yourself to explore.

Great place to visit and get views of the other side and nice little Christmas market here. Post 7pm it becomes free to climb up before which you need tickets. Just ask around for the exact timing.

Stunning view over Budapest, especially beautiful after Christmas. It was freezing cold 🥶, but the scenery was absolutely worth it. The best panoramic viewpoints in the city. ❤️ 🤍 💚
