Super awesome charco experience! This was one of the highlights of our visit to this area of the island. While it's a little treacherous to drive here yourself on the windy, rural roads, it's definitely not worth spending a ton of $ to take a bus tour here if you have access to a car, preferably an SUV. You pay $5 to park in a small lot. The parking lot attendant was super nice and provided directions to the two charcos. It's very easy to find the charcos and the paths are well outlined and maintained. It can be a little tricky getting down into the water though, so I do recommend some water shoes. Kids and anyone with mobility issues might need some help negotiating some of the paths down. However, compared to the Charco Azul in Vega Baja, this place was so much better situated and infinitely easier to navigate with clear paths and trails. There's also a chill bar set up between the parking lot and the charcos so you can relax with a beer and some appetizers after swimming. They even grow their own pineapples in the bar area! There are some small bathrooms where you can change, but they are not particularly spacious or well lit. We had an amazing day here for about $25: $5 to park and $20 for beers and appetizers. It's a little off the beaten path, but definitely worth a trip. The photos speak for themselves. My only other word of caution was to exercise some situational awareness: there was a shady looking older, single man lurking around the first charo, eye-ing young girls in their swimwear. I don't think anything untoward happened, but just be aware if you're coming here with young females and keep your guard up.
