"Occupying a former factory in the tree-lined Jing’An District, this sleek property uses recycled and locally sourced materials in its design, including reclaimed gray bricks from old Shanghai houses. A wall of antique suitcases salvaged from Shanghai street markets greets guests in the lobby, while rooms and suites have Thai silks, charcoal velvet upholstery, natural woods, and slate bathrooms. The custom mattresses, made with cactus fiber, seaweed, and coconut husk, are topped in 600-thread-count Egyptian cotton sheets. The hotel partners with Art + Shanghai art gallery to exhibit a seasonally rotating collection of works throughout the public spaces and penthouses."

The cute boutique is located on a tree lined street approximately a 7 minute brisk walk from Jing’an temple exit 2 ( through a shopping mall), there’s some yummy food spots along the way to the hotel. The hotel is very beautiful and the front desk staff are able to speak English well ( you can ask for toothpaste/ brush) at the front desk. The room was clean and the bed perfect, mix of soft and comfortable. However I did give a 4 point rating for the bathtub in the room. I was not sure if it was dirty or the tub was old, but the room itself was clean and neat including the bathroom, I didn’t use the tub anyway because I couldn’t decide if it was dirty or old. (Picture included) Breakfast was ok, chose the continental and it was a bit dry without any condiments, but I asked and the wait staff brought it for me. Maybe the Chinese style was better. The stay was peaceful and quiet, thanks for having me 🫶🏽

Great place! I loved the smart design of the room. Very modern and warm at the same time. Plus, the neighbourhood is very cool, aka lots of trendy coffee shops and concept stores. I totally recommend.

Been here at least three times already. It’s a nice boutique hotel, hidden in a courtyard and located very conveniently, just a 10 min. walk from Jing’An temple subway station and in walking distance to many sights, restaurants & bars. Spacious room with cozy sofa corner and stylish bathroom. Only disadvantage: the mattress is a bit hard for my taste.

Location of the Hotel is great in the lively Jian‘an area, wheres the hotel is a little hidden away and hence still quiet. Many Restaurant options around, easy Access to the Metro. Room was great, exactly as shown in the pictures, staff was very friendly. I did book breakfast which was a either a Western or Chinese set meal. Quality of breakfast was not the greatest so I would opt to go out when visiting next time.

I've wanted to stay here for years! Many friends and colleagues have rated it highly, and now I can do the same! The rooms are beautiful (if not slightly precarious, as you need to ensure you step carefully across the different raised sections), and the bath was sublime! Be prepared to wait a while for it to fill, but it's well-worth it for the luxury. The bath robes were the comfiest I've ever worn, and the quality of all facilities within the room were excellent. The breakfast options were both delicious, and though we didn't have time to enjoy the restaurant attached, the food looked fantastic. The staff went above and beyond, and I would happily stay there again.

I think everything is excellent … great little boutique hotel ….. only complain my wife has is that the room is a little bit dimmed …. Wish they have more lights for the lady to do their make up…Also the car can’t reach the entrance and you need to walk in a tiny bit …. Other than that …. Love the room and I got the garden view room which is nice !

Excellent place to stay. Within walking distance of many restaurants and Jinan temple. Close to subway and easy to get around from here. Bed so comfortable. Loved the bath but took a long time to put water in and water wasn’t very hot. But still worth it.

I was extremely disappointed with my recent stay. There were many dead cockroaches in my room, which was both unsettling and unacceptable. The hotel feels very outdated—a stark contrast to my experience in 2017, when I truly enjoyed my stay. Unfortunately, it seems the property has seriously declined in quality and upkeep since then.
