Saigon's Restaurant

Today I got to try their summer rolls & shredded chicken sandwich and they were great. It really seemed like a healthy food and I really felt clean and nice after eating such healthy food. Also, the service was very friendly and helpful.

We were greeted warmly and pointed to a table. There appear to be many “regulars” dining here who know exactly what they want to eat by heart. We ordered the oxtail soup with pho noodles and a regular steak pho. The portions were generous for a “regular” size pho. I liked the very thin noodles. Also looked the volume of greens/herbs presented with the soup. We will be back!

Food was good. Place was clean but warm. Ceiling fans weren’t on.

I get my fav veggies and tofu pho every time. Super nice couple and food is constantly yummy. Herbs veggie plate for pho is always fresh. We come here few times a month.

We ordered food to go, although we could have stayed to eat in the restaurant. There are tables in the restaurant to accommodate customers “open seating.” The Pho is delicious ( Steak and Cooked Flank). They provide a generous portion of basil, lemon, sprouts, sauce, and jalapeños. The oxtail curry is also a delicious dish. And the summer rolls were great. I have had excellent food every time I have been here.

I went in craving Pho. Delicious. The broth is perfectly balanced. Nice portion, friendly service.

Maybe you pass this place on your way to Pipeline. Maybe you shouldn't because the food is so damn delicious. Maybe you should come here everyday because you can get a delicious bahn mi in whatever flavor your desire, pho, or a staple Vietnamese dish. Just eat here, you won't regret it. Vegan options available.

Best Vietnamese food on the island. I gotta say that their prices are pretty reasonably as well. If you are in Kaimuki, I recommend you stop by here, but make sure you’re hungry because once you start eating you probably won’t want to stop. The staff is very nice.

I've been coming here for years and can't believe I never reviewed it. This is definitely a five star restaurant for Vietnamese food. We ordered the tofu and vegetable pho and vermicelli with lemon grass chicken and spring rolls. The pho's broth is tasty and portions are very generous. I believe good broth is key to a good pho. The lemon grass chicken is delicious and spring rolls nice and crispy. Most dishes are around $14 and its worth it for the quality and quantity you get. The service here has always been excellent. Whether you eat in or order takeout, they are always so accommodating and conscientious. If you're craving good Vietnamese food, Saigon's Restaurant is the place to go!!

My new favorite Viet place for the following reasons: 1. Lowest prices of all Pho restaurants. Regular size pho is about $13. Large is $15. Cold noodle Bun with two choices only $13 2. Good quality and good taste 3. Portion size is decent 4. Unique menu. I love their lemon grass options for Bun and Rice plate 5. Large clean restaurant. Works well for large parties and accommodates strollers/wheel chairs My other favorite place is Pate in town. Food there slightly better and slightly larger but the prices are about $4 a dish higher and the restaurant is tiny often with a 30 minute wait.

After the Honolulu marathon, I was in dire need of my favorite recovery food: pho. So I looked up a Vietnamese place nearby. Saigon's met all the wickets. My food was delish! I got the large steak bowl. The portion was large enough for two meals. Perfect! What, no! I didn't eat it all in one! But it was a real effort not to. My sister got the vermicelli bbq pork plate and destroyed the whole thing. So I would definitely call this place a win. Will be back. Thanks!

Located on Wailalae Avenue. A little shop with about a dozen or so tables. Very clean restaurant. Food here is typical Vietnamese fare and very good. Have tried their bun, pho, rice plates, beef salad and oxtail soup. The very nice husband and wife owners do everything from taking your order and bussing the tables. They do not have a typical Bun Bo Hue so you'll need to go elsewhere. Otherwise everything is good!

This is a good place for authentic and super reasonably priced vietnamese food. They have a clean dining room with nice size tables so you are not cramped and feel like you are sitting right next to other diners. There is usually the one gentleman working the entire place doing all the phone order as well dining room duties. Even as the place slowly filled up and the phone rang, he maintained his steady service and we never had to wait too long for anything. The food is tasty, portion size good and prices super affordable.

best spicy lemongrass chicken banh mi i've ever had!! the service was quick and friendly. it was pretty quiet inside because everyone was too busy eating to talk. i will definitely be back here.

Got the lemongrass chicken banh mi. Lemongrass chicken was very saucy and had bell peppers sautéed with it. It was pretty sweet like a teriyaki chicken style. Asked if they could add pate to the sandwich which was $1 extra but I barely see any inside. Won't order this sandwich again cause lemongrass banh mi is better everywhere else I have tried. It was just a take out order so I'll try the restaurant again but will order something else.

The food isn't bad. Service is great, the waitress was very nice. The prices are pretty reasonable. The interior isn't incredible but it's not dirty.

Delicious flavorful pho, their egg rolls were also flavorful and crispy, and came with noodles, herbs and pickled carrots. The restaurant was pretty spacious and service was quick. Parking wasn't too hard with street parking. If I were in the area I would come back again.

Small family owned Locally and operated. We'll known for their Pho and BBQ Pork Entrees. Papa run the front of the house and Mama runs the kitchen. They do a wonderful job. Always hot and fresh. Vegetables are bright and flavorful. The broth is awesome hot and flavorful. The hidden gem on the menu is their Grill Pork Meatballs served with rice paper, lettuce, bean sprouts, carrots, mint, and of course Basil. Make your own roll combining all the ingredients into your own personal Vietnamese Burrito and dip it in that wonderful sauce that accompanies the dish. Oh my Umami! Great choice for Top Notch Vietnamese Cuisine.

We've been living in Kaimuki for a couple years and only now just tried Saigons. It's safe to say were not disappointed at all. The moment we walked in the restaurant we could tell it was going to be good. It gave off a really good vibe. We stopped by a little after 7 when it wasn't too busy and noticed how clean and quiet it was and we got sat quickly. We got the tofu summer rolls and spring rolls to start and both were unbelievably delicious. Then we both got our pho and we couldn't believe how delicious it was. This place exceeded our expectations! Everything tasted so good and so fresh. As we were checking out we got to talking with the owner and she was so nice. She told us that she goes to China town everyday to get the vegetables. And it shows. And we also got a Thai tea to go that was really good too. It didn't taste like a powder or can Thai tea. Over all I give this place a 10/10!

Okay depends on what you get .. the curry was delicious but the other dishes meat was kind of dry and over cooked, under seasoned

I enjoyed this place a lot! I tried the pho with mixed meat and it tasted pretty descent! The meat could have been more flavorful and tender, I'm not too sure how authentic everything was, but overall not bad!

A hole in the wall well known by people who live in Kaimuki. One of the remaining staples in an ever changing food landscape. At first site this restaurant is just one of the many restaurants in Kaimuki town. Though not trendy as the newer restaurants that replaced the older ones. The interior seats at least 30 people with three rows of tables. Decided to come here on a Tuesday hoping it wouldn't be too busy. At 6pm it was still pretty quiet but half hour later this place was packed. I got a table and ordered a large beef pho which was priced at $15. It didn't take too long for my order to be served and everything was made to order. I was impressed at how much I got for $15. You can tell this place serves this community well. Since this was a well established restaurant, the waiter is used to having customers knowing what they want. But he was more than willing to answer any questions. Would definitely come back here again.

My wife and I love this place. The people are friendly, even on a busy, busy Friday night. I'm not sure if the man who seats you--and serves as well--is the owner but he manages the dozen or so tables with a smile and precision. The food is spectacular. The deep fried spring rolls come with romaine lettuce to wrap the roll with mint, noodles, sprouts, carrot slivers and cucumbers, a wonderful mix of flavors, plus a great dipping sauce. The traditional pho is great as are the curries and, my favorite, the thin-sliced beef salad is wonderful. They do not serve alcohol but BYO is fine with them. The topper is that prices are very reasonable and the portions are generous. See why we love this place?

The food is still just as good as I reviewed it 2yrs ago. I had the same tuna bahn mi and it was just as crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. The restaurant is clean and service is quick and efficient. I came during weekday around 1230 and it was not crowded. There are lots of takeout orders though.

My second fav restaurant to eat pho! Service is always great and the ambiance is decent.

Pho and spring rolls. Great mom and pops place. Servers on point, Always just him it seems upfront and he does great work. Always attentive and handles take out like a champion.

The food was great. Better than expected. Best Pho I've tried on Oahu. The service was snappy and accurate. The order taker didn't need to write it down and it was perfect. The ambiance is what usual Vietnamese restaurants are here but it was cleaner than any other. I highly recommend.

Went to Saigon's Restaurant for Pho. Lots of choices for pho. The pho comes with all the trimmings. We ordered the doing rolls and summer rolls as well. The spring rolls were accompanied with lettuce, noodles, cucumber, and carrots along with the dipping sauce. The summer rolls also came with a dipping sauce The service is very good and this family run restaurant fits the neighborhood well Lots of restaurants to choose from in Kaimuki however this restaurant has the service and hospitality to make you want to come back The restaurant is clean and tables are turned quickly. Great place to bring your family and satisfy your pho cravings

Came in after walking by and saw several tables full. Did not disappoint. Hubby had pho which was delicious. I had the tofu vermicelli which was yummy as well. I loved that the tofu was lightly fried and there was a good amount as well. Food was served very fast. Service was friendly and food is good. Highly recommend Saigon Restaurant. Water served is 9.5 Kangen water. Huge plus! (Also has a clean restroom.)

My go to place for pho and ban mi. Spring rolls are amazing as well. Recommended to me by my Vietnamese hairdresser

Constanly passed Saigon on my regular visits to Kaimuki as if I was blinded by my goal of the day though it's obviously been there forever as I've known. A great size place that has about 8 tables spaced out well though the obvious problem we have here in Kaimuki is parking and the reason for the one less star. Food considering the rising cost is kept at a good price and is packed with care separating items so that they're kept fresh. Mom was craving a fresh summer roll so I though this would be the greatest opportunity to visit Saigon ;-) and feeling exhausted after a long work day a nice bowl of hot Pho (I did order it without meat and just wanted it plain) sounds like the comfort needed to end my day. All was good but not great for our personal preference and for the inconvenience with parking situation it wasn't the incredible wow that would make it worth my effort to park and walk out. The staff here is just a delight and friendly with food coming out fast and packed for travel just perfectly!! Thank you!

Affordable and great portion. Their pho broth is nice & not overly salty. Overall great selection of sandwiches and noodle bun dishes. Parking is across the street or if you're lucky, right in front there's a few metered stalls.

Been here twice. It's clean, reasonable and sooo good! Very nice people and fast service. Definitely will be back.

Was feeling under the weather today. Decided to try their ox tail soup which hit the spot. I felt so much better after eating the piping hot soup. will definitely go back.

Food was good, but the restaurant was over half hour LATE opening. We were had crossed the street to look for someplace else to eat and then the finally opened.

Delicious and very popular with the Kaimuki crowd. Honestly , the resterant was packed. Will be back. Pho broth delicious and nice and hot - the way I like it. Have been to other restaurants where the broth is served warm ( don't know if it's a liability thing) but Pho should be hot Friend's order was just as yummy

First time trying this place out and it did not disappoint! Went during lunch time on a Friday and there was a constant flow of people coming in to eat. Pho prices here were probably some of the most reasonable I've seen which was the driving factor for choosing this place. The spring rolls were delicious and came with bean sprouts, vermicelli, lettuce & pickled carrots. They had a chili oil based sauce that tasted amazing mixed with the hoisin sauce. Service was efficient & I can't wait to come back!

With many Vietnamese restaurants around town, it's fun to try them out and see which ones we like. One of the long-standing ones is Saigon's Restaurant in Kaimuki. The Nguyen family, who were initially from Vietnam, started Saigon's Restaurant in 1998 in Kaimuki. In 2012, the original owners retired, passing the baton to their nephew and his wife. This hard-working couple, together with other family members, has made this unassuming restaurant a popular one with a loyal following of regular customers. They have an extensive menu that consists of: appetizers (spring and summer rolls); pho (various meats and seafood); stir fries of starch and meats and seafood; salads; oxtails; noodle soups; vermicelli combos; lemongrass combos; rice plates; grilled bbq; fried rice; house specialties (shrimp paste wrap on sugar cane, grilled meatballs, combo wraps); yellow curries; sandwiches; desserts; and beverages. They even serve healthy Kangen alkaline water. Despite being in operation for so many years, this was the first time at Saigon's, and have I been missing out on all these years. We enjoyed our first time there, as the menu items we tried were delicious and reasonable in price, as well as having received superb customer service. Note that bahn mi sandwiches are not available on Sundays, as the restaurant's bread supplier is not open. Glad to know that the restaurant's owners only use fresh bread that is supplied to them on daily basis, and that they do not use leftover bread from previous days. And we love that their menu uses large-size font, which is easy to read, especially for us baby boomers! We had the following: · Large pho with steak, tripe, tendon, flank (choose between regular or large). The broth was clean tasting and perfectly flavorful without being overly salty or sweet, and was served temperature hot. It came with generous amounts of jalapeno, cilantro, Thai basil, bean sprouts, mint, and a lemon wedge. No need for the various sauces, as the broth held its own delicious flavor without any additional sauces. · Spring rolls. The spring rolls were made to order, as they were very fresh, crisp on the outside, and flavorful on the inside. They were served with generous amounts of vermicelli, lettuce leaves, pickled daikon and carrots, sliced cucumbers, and mint. I love ground peanuts, and the owner/server easily accommodated my request of a container of ground peanuts with a smile. The dipping sauce perfectly complemented the spring rolls, as this dish was delicious. · Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk. The restaurant does not provide you with the stainless steel filter as other Vietnamese restaurants, but instead, makes the coffee in the back and serves it in a full glass with ice. Not complaining, as this was a full glass, which is double the amount of what I would normally get elsewhere. And it was delish and not too strong or bitter. Customer service by the owner-wife team was very friendly, attentive, and gracious. Orders were taken promptly, and our meals were served quickly. Water glasses were replenished without asking, and we were asked periodically if everything was okay and if we needed anything else. The bill was presented after we were done eating. Note that you go up to the counter to pay your bill, which appears to be the norm with other small local Vietnamese restaurants. The owners have transformed this unassuming restaurant to a nice and cozy restaurant with wall photos of Vietnam sights and food offerings, towering green bamboo plants on the counter, a big screen tv, tiles of contrasted colors as part of the décor, a shrine built into the counter, dark brown chairs with black padded seats, gold-colored marbled tables, and etched glass at the counter. The restaurant is super clean. Each table has a set of condiments of hoi sin sauce, soy sauce, fish sauce, chili oil (they make their own), Sriracha sauce, salt, and pepper. What's nice about this is that other than the Sriracha and hoi sin sauces, they're all in white porcelain servers that clean and without any drippings on it caused by other diners. Saigon's Restaurant is located on the top of the hill on Waialae Ave. in Kaimuki next to Okata Bento and Pipeline Bakeshop and is between 12th Ave. and Koko Head Ave. Hours of operation are Tues. to Sun., 11a to 8p; Mon. closed. Parking is available in municipal parking lots across the street or metered spaces on nearby streets. Credit cards accepted. What a great find in Kaimuki and am so glad that we finally found this awesome restaurant that delivers flavorful food that is fresh, with reasonable prices and friendly staff! We look forward to trying the many items on their menu!

I've never been to this place before but craved some pho. It's a pretty small restaurant that can fit about 10 tables. When we went (around lunch time), it was pretty much empty, except for two people. While we were there people were picking up their orders, so the place wasn't so deserted. They had this cute little shrine under the cash register. We had beef pho with tendon and tripe. You get the usual side condiments, which is always great. There were sauces on the table that you can add to the pho as well. There was the plum sauce, soy sauce, fish sauce, chili oil, and salt and pepper. They make their own chili oil so when my mom tried it, it was so spicy!! It was the hottest chili oil she ever had. But she liked it. The beef pho broth was very clean tasting. You get a couple big slices of beef, which was delicious! The tendon and tripe were very small pieces, so it was a treasure hunt to find them lol. Overall a delicious pho for not a bad price nowadays. Will go again if I ever get the pho cravings.

Saigon is our go-to pho restaurant. Great food, great service. Their broth is legit. The owners are really nice.

This is my To-Go place all the time. The price is very reasonable for the portion and the summer rolls is the best that I had for its sauce. The service is also really nice, uncle and aunt is always so welcoming.

This is my absolute favorite pho place- great prices, great portions, and great service. Parking here is always tricky because it's mainly street parking and with so many establishments, it fills up quickly so snag a spot if you see one! Because of covid, they were doing take out only for the longest time, but they have dine-in again so we had to come back out here for the delicious pho! It doesn't look like they raised the prices too much compared to other places. My go to's are usually the Combination pho and/or a bbq chicken sandwich. Since I am dieting and watching my calories, I was super excited to see they are offering dine in once again. The take out pho is good, but it's so much better when it's dine in and steaming hot!

Still the best oxtail soup and pleasant service. The restaurant is clean and good ambiance.

I've been thinking about Pho for some time. A good bowl of pho is more than capable to put a smile on to anybody's faces on a cloudy days. I enjoyed my order of pho here even though the broth was kinda too light and watered down compared to any other places I've been to. The meat ratio, condiments of Thai basil, bean sprouts, limes were just right. I was happy and that's all matter. I was also happier because I also order "hanh dam" pickled raw onion in vinegar and sugar. do it.

Best prices in town! Good tasting pho what else would you want? Food always comes out fresh and delicious. If you live in honolulu this is the place to go!

Can't believe this is my first time trying Saigon's on Waialae. They are finally open for dine in. My best friend and my old coworker raved about this place so I knew I had to go here. We parked on the street of you can park in the lot across. Upon entering, I noticed the place was nice and clean. My go to order for any Vietnamese restaurant is either a tofu & veggie pho or I'll get some kind of vermicelli with spring rolls. This time I was in the mood for the cold vermicelli with grilled shrimp and spring rolls. I also ordered a side of pho broth (I love doing this so I can eat something cold and hot lol). Food came out fast and portions were generous. My vermicelli dish was really good. I loved the grilled shrimp & spring rolls with the noodles. It was a perfect combo! But I knew this place was good when I tried their pho broth. Super flavorful and loved that it came out piping hot. Overall great food and staff is friendly. I was also surprised how cheap our bill was because I noticed other Vietnamese restaurants have been raising their prices. Saigon's is a must if your in the Kaimuki area!

Great Pho. Best Vietnamese in Honolulu. Grwat failt run establishment in the heart of Kaimuki!

We came here for a quick bite while passing through Kaimuki. I'd only tried here one time previously and several years ago but I was pleasantly surprised. I'm glad to see they were still quite busy after everything that's happened since 2019 and they still provide good food at decent prices. The pork Bahn mi was good, I would have liked it a bit more with some fresh cut jalepenos on it but it was still on a nicely baked French roll. The lemongrass tofu sandwich was really flavorful and I'll definitely go back to try the chicken lemongrass sandwich next time. The inside is pretty standard. When you walk in you're greeted by that deliciously enticing aroma of all of the herbs and broth from the kitchen which is one of the many things I love about pho restaurants. It's also nice that it's in Kaimuki and there are parks around to go eat at if you decide to do take out instead of dine in. I would recommend trying it for sure if you haven't yet. More to come when I get the chance to try their pho and other sandwiches!

I come to this place quite often! It's affordable and the food is great. The owners are very nice and have great customer service. Only thing they could change is if their broth was more flavorful on their pho.

Enjoyed this more than the first time. Generous portions at very reasonable prices. Really excellent selection of meats on the pho (this time tried the large) with a very flavorful broth. Green papaya salad was fresh, crunchy, nice amount of peanuts and crispy onions, and good shrimp. I suspect I will eventually work through the menu here.

Excellent Vietnamese food. Bun with BBQ pork and spring rolls is the best. Service is perfect...efficient but not hovering.

Had the #3 sliced steak pho and the papaya salad with fried tofu. I usually get the meatball but this sliced steak is my new favorite. The meat was tender and everything else was so ono! It was super quiet (no music) we could hear the other table people talking. But this place is clean and the service was good. If your in this area and craving pho, gotta try this place!

This is our regular pho restaurant. Great food and excellent service! I highly recommend this restaurant.

We were looking forward to going here today after looking over reviews and pictures , but we left after we waited about 15 minutes after the opening business hours . Business hours said Tuesday Sunday 11 am to 5pm. Our business ended up going to Broken Noodle across the street . While watching from across , we watch another couple come at about 11:20 am and the door was also locked when they attempted to go in . Someone finally opened the door for them at 11:20 . I was pretty disappointed that we didn't get to try Saigon , but Broken Noodle did satisfy our Vietnamese craving

Good food, the pho is pretty good for the price you pay and it's definitely one of the better pho spots in the area but not the best. I recommend getting their rice dishes or Bahn Mi sandwiches with the spring or summer rolls.
