During our summer holiday in Rome, we were looking for an authentic and well-rounded experience and found exactly that at Giulio Passami l’Olio on Via Poli. A charming, cozy place with a classic Roman atmosphere where you feel comfortable right away.
Carbonara as it should be
Our waiter confidently recommended the best carbonara in Rome — and he was absolutely right. Creamy, beautifully balanced, and carried by the rich, slightly salty flavor of 18-month-aged Pecorino. Simply outstanding and exactly what you hope for in Rome.
Service with heart and humor
After the meal, the waiter came back to our table laughing: “Io non ho detto una bugia?” — a moment that stays with you. The service is friendly, attentive, and pleasantly confident. You can tell they truly enjoy what they do.
Conclusion
A clear recommendation for anyone visiting Rome who wants to enjoy classic Roman cuisine in a relaxed yet high-quality setting. Reservations are recommended, especially for outdoor seating. We will gladly return.
