In town for daughters graduation from lackland AFB. First full day and we decided to explore for breakfast. On way down to locate river walk we pulled off freeway to find a family style place only to be turned off of the possibility of crepes and lattes.... just not us. Picking literally the next pop up on maps, we had the great fortune to find this place... what a delight, to say the least. The hostess got us to our table and it was centrally located in one of two main dining area surrounded by booths and other tables. The decor was homey in its simplicity, charming. The waitress was very helpful in making selections and was very patient with us considering it was first time there. I had the biscuits and gravy with home made sausage patties with eggs. The presentation was awesome and everything was fantastic. If I lived here this would for sure be eating here at least 3-4 times a week. Really just a fantastic place

Google
Absolutely Delicious Pancakes. Just order the blueberry pancakes add chocolate chips then thank me later. The stack was huge they definitely have large portions. Staff were friendly and service was fast. Their prices were great especially considering how amazing everything tasted. I tried the Authentic Apfel Pfannekuchen, it was good but next time just getting the full stack as it was far superior. Overall get the pancakes they don’t disappoint!

Arrived and was told we were 2nd in line WITH THE HOSTES present. We had a conversation about her love pf hot wheels so its not like she didnt recognize us. 10 minutes turned to 20 and turns out she gave out table to someone else. ANYWAYS Alamo Buscuit doesn't have this problem with their front desk! Great food!

Google
Magnolia is a great option for breakfast or brunch, every single time. All their items are so flavorful. The pancakes, the waffles, hashbrowns, breakfast meats, literally everything! The Texas waffle is such a great sweet treat with pecans made in the crispy waffle and peach compote with fresh cream. The corned beef hash is an amazing savory option. You can’t go wrong with ordering anything here.

Google
The Magnolia Pancake Haus is a charming gourmet diner with delicious offerings. The blueberry pancakes, classic French toast with bacon and eggs, and the standout Fitzgerald Eggs Benedict were phenomenal. Their unique menu items are incredibly tempting—I’d be a regular if I were local! The outdoor seating area is beautiful, perfect for events, and the adjacent Magnolia venue is ideal for gatherings, meetings, or weddings. Highly recommend! This version streamlines the text, enhances clarity, and maintains your enthusiasm. Let me know if you’d like further adjustments! Think Harder

Shrinkflation is alive and well at MPH! It wasn't too long ago that their pancakes filled a typical dinner plate, and sometimes even hung over the plate, and the omelets took half the plate.... Those days seem to be long gone as their servings shrank while their prices increased. My omelet and pancakes were noticeably smaller. The omelet didn't even touch the inner lines of the plate, but was at least fluffy with a decent amount of bacon and cheese. The pancake size was truly a disappointment considering the name of the place has 'Pancake' in it. The 2 pancakes were served on a small plate and fit perfectly in the inside line. My pancakes were dry, but butter and syrup helped. Flavor-wise it was great, no critique there. The service was also bad. My party of 2 was seated right away due to a hostess mistake on check in (good problem to have, right!) But then we waited 10 minutes to be acknowledged by a server. We watched 3 other tables be seated, acknowledged, and have their drinks before my table was approached. All in all, the high standards of MPH seem to have disappeared and its relevance in the ever growing breakfast/brunch scene is getting as small as their portions....

Google
The food is alright, I mean the French toast was good, nothing to write home about. The biscuits were fluffy and nice, gravy was tasty. Again not exactly show stopping. Overall, the atmosphere is what you're paying for. Its beautiful but other than that food tastes like ihop, Dennys, or another breakfast place. The shrimp omlette was a surprise and definitely a 1000/10.

Google
The staff were great and I liked the vibe of an old southern breakfast place. We thought the place was overrated. None of the plates stood out as fantastical for the wait and price of the food. You’ll find better valued food elsewhere. Fyi. Wait to be seated. No prices on menu.

Yelp
Love! Love! Love!! The absolute best pancakes and every other dish I've tried is excellent. My latest favorite is Banana Nut Bread French Toast. So good!

Yelp
Plentiful of free parking out front. Place looked like a southern house. Really cool. I ordered the Magnolia Breakfast with three over easy eggs, hash browns, and bacon. I also added a side of banana fosters pancakes along with orange juice and water The eggs were cooked perfectly with runny yolks, the hash browns were crisp on the outside and soft inside, and the bacon was cooked just right. The banana fosters pancakes were the highlight. Sweet, rich, and indulgent without being overwhelming. They easily stole the show as a side. Service was very friendly and efficient and the place had a lively breakfast atmosphere. Portions were generous and everything came out hot and well prepared. A great spot if you want a classic breakfast with something a little extra on the side.

Yelp
Food: 5/5 Service: 4/5 Ambience:4/5 We came on a busy Wednesday noon. It was also Christmas Eve. The wait time was 45 minutes, but you can reserve a spot in yelp. The host quickly seated our party of two. We ordered the southern eggs Benedict, the soup and salad combo, and the haus bretzel. Southern eggs Benedict:5/5 The southern eggs benedict came with pulled pork and a choice of grits, fruit, or pancakes. I chose to upgrade to blueberry pancakes. The pulled pork was tender and flavourful, poached eggs were cooked to perfection, and the biscuit it came on was buttery and soft. The blueberry pancakes were also soft and not too sweet. I couldn't really taste the sweetness of the blueberries. The pancakes were perfect with the provided butter and maple syrup. Soup and salad combo:3/5 The soup of the day was decent with a moderate amount of toppings, and the salad was good. The veggies were fresh. The haus bretzel:5/5 Came with cheesy sauce, sweet honey butter, and horseradish Dijon mustard. The pretzel was huge, it was bigger than both of my hands! It was soft and perfect with the cheesy sauce. I really liked this pretzel. Service was slow, but that's understandable for such a busy restaurant. One issue was that our waitress never refilled our water. The ambience was loud and there was a cool painting of a pig on the wall. Not much to say about the ambience besides it's a busy restaurant. Overall I would highly recommend this restaurant, just make sure to reserve a spot in the waitlist so you don't spend an hour waiting.

Yelp
Always good just sat down. but a few negatives hope they read and accept feedback they are making their own syrup and whatever the reason is, assuming costs it's watery and doesn't add to the pancakes and waffles like the original. Over the years the other change I am not a fan of at all is the grits. Used to normal now they are white and dry and yuck. Everything else we have had is good

Yelp
I came here with my husband for brunch. We reserve our seats on yelp around 30 minutes prior of arriving and were seated within 10 minutes after we parked. We ordered a few things starting with the eggnog coffee decaf. It was quite bitter. The southern benne was delicious but I wish there was more of the bbq sauce on it. I would still get this againThe citrus compote was as expected. The apfel pfannekunchen, their special, took a very long time to arrive. It sounds like many people ordered this and mine was lost in the mist. So we had to wait much longer for it. It is like an open faced apple/crepe strudel without the crumbly texture. Our kind waitress also brought maple syrup, which is in a warm koozie. You need to ask for a spoon if you cannot be patient to try this maple syrup. It is very thin, but has a very interesting flavor to it that makes you keep wanting more. The place was really homey, feel with a lot small decoration and knickknacks . There's also a really big porch area at the front that people can wait around at. There's also free parking at the front.

Yelp
I will start by saying this place probably has the best customer service at any restaurant ever. And as far as any dietary restrictions they are extremely accommodating I did let them know I can't eat pork and they let me know that they usually cook everything in lard but they do have separate pans they use to prevent cross contamination. The food was ok. But the restaurant inside and out was amazing, comfortable and homey. The outdoor area was my favorite, the weather was beautiful and they had a local market outside which was nice and live music it was really just a fun place. Our waiter Luther was great as well. The food itself was ok. Not great but not bad either. I have no actual complaint with the quality etc but it wasn't great. Coffee though that was the best drip coffee I've had. The chicken with the chicken and waffles didn't have much flavor but the texture was crispy (but it was like a crumb coating which I'm not a fan of) . There is The apples in my dish were cooked beautifully. And there were some amazing highlights through the meal but I think it was missing points so it was not as satisfying as it might have been

Yelp
Before leaving San Antonio, my coworkers wanted to go to breakfast and we were told it had to be Magnolia Pancake Haus. I'd been there once before and was delighted to go back. It can get really busy and the wait can be really long but we lucked out and got right in with our party of three this morning. You also have to have your complete party to be sat, no ifs ands or butts. Also, there is a credit card processing fee they charge to charge, but they are upfront about it and make sure it doesn't just get sprung on you. Also, parties over seven people will have an auto gratuity added on. We got Sonia as our server and she was an absolute ray of sunshine, took such good care of us. She really was wonderful. She warmed our coffee mugs before pouring our first cup of hot, smooth coffee and brought these delicious Irish cream and pumpkin creamers. Our syrup was in a little jacket to keep it warm and she asked how we wanted our bacon cooked, which I appreciated as a crispy bacon lover who is often disappointed by the lack of crisp in my bacon. She also made sure we got everything we needed for our meal to be perfection. I got the two eggs with the bacon and pancakes. The pancakes were delicious, cooked perfectly, buttery and fluffy. Devoured every bite! Got to fly back home all full and happy. The restaurant is absolutely adorable as well, homey and cozy. It has a really welcoming lived in feel and it's no wonder they have been raking in accolades for years and years. Can't wait to come back next time I'm in town. I want to try to the peach and pecan waffle or the AUTHENTIC APFEL PFANNEKUCHEN (had to copy and paste to make sure it was spelled right). I saw someone else order it and it looked amazing.

Yelp
First time we visited Magnolia was a great experience. The food was hot and fresh and service was friendly and excellent. This location has the feel of a huge farmhouse with a very welcoming dining room. We could barely finish the huge portions of delicious food. Though there was a seating line, we got in quickly. Highly recommended.

Yelp
After months of passing by, we finally got a chance to visit the Magnolia Pancake Haus and were very impressed. Visited at 9am on a Friday morning. Short line and busy interior but they moved us through at lightning speed. Clean and bright interior that threw off a much better vibe than an IHOP. Service was impressive and our order came out fast and hot! The standout were the praline French toast - the pecan topped sauce was amazing! - and the Stonewall special of biscuits and gravy with eggs and sausage. For the first time in a while, someone in the restaurant industry knows how to do sausage gravy! Kudos all around, and we suspect that they use eggs from a local farm given how vividly orange the yolks were. Impressive service and very good food; definitely recommend Magnolia's to anyone looking for a breakfast spot! This place scores a 5 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing away after finishing a plate here. 4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Would be OK having a nosh here with Mother Mary. 3 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Joseph good. Would be OK having a beer here with Jesus' Dad. 2 out of 5 stars: Come-to-the-Apostles good. Meh. Wouldn't have my last supper here. 1 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Nobody good. I wouldn't have my penultimate supper here, either.

Yelp
I LOVE this place, every time I'm in Texas I go here! Pancakes are BOMB I love the banana foster pancakes but try them all!!
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing coffee!! Even more amazing was the DDD's (Diners, Drive Ins and Dive by Guy Fieri) reviewed corn corned beef hash! Trust me, you'll never want to eat any other corned beef hash except this! Delicious, tender chunks of beef that's shredded and mixed w potatoes. This is how I imagined the "real CBH" to taste like. Long line moved in quickly and we were able to be seated within 15 minutes without a reservation. Service was wonderful and coffee/fluids with ongoing refills! Definitely will revisit on my next trip to San Antonio!

Yelp
Great Food Selections. Food is always prepared to individual's order. Wait staff always friendly. I am never disappointed.

Yelp
I've never been disappointed with Magnolia Pancake Haus. My personal favorite is the Jambalaya Omelette. If you plan to dine here I advise using the "Join Waitlist" option on its Yelp page.

Veronika V.

Yelp
My two young daughters and I ate a delicious brunch! Absolutely amazing and top-notch service! A bit of a long wait, but it was worth it!

Yelp
As featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, The Magnolia Pancake Haus lives up to the hype. The restaurant sits directly adjacent to its own Magnolia Halle--a large event venue. Despite being busy, service was quick, and our server was genuinely the sweetest ever The menu has a few standout items, including a fun Texas-shaped waffle and a surprisingly customizable scrambled egg option. I was pleasantly caught off guard when asked if I wanted to add anything to my eggs--something I've never been asked at a breakfast spot before. (I went with tomato and spinach.) Would recommend stopping by if you are in San Antonio!

Yelp
Meh. The corned beef hash tasted funny. The Farmers Scramble was OK, Lacking flavor. We had side orders of grits and toast. No butter, no jam. I asked for some and got two tiny paper containers of jam smaller than a quarter. One of them didn't even cover one piece of toast. No butter delivered.

Yelp
Every time I come here, the service is so nice, the place is clean and bright from all the windows, and the food never disappoints. I went yesterday and got the pumpkin waffle because I loooove pumpkin season! It was delicious

Yelp
Service was very fast for a busy Saturday. The banana foster pancakes were great, so was the peach waffle! The place was very clean!

Yelp
The restaurant was packed. They don't take reservations, so we had to come and put our name on a list. They estimated a wait time of 60-75 minutes for our party of 10. You don't have to stay there while you wait, but they have plenty of seating on their porch, so we did. They also have a bar around the back, in case you want a beverage while you wait. They called us in at exactly 60 minutes. The restaurant is decorated simply. The focus is more on the food and who you share it with than being "instagrammable". Our server was Harley - he was kind and experienced to be able to handle such a large table on his own. I ordered the Stonewall Ranch breakfast which I shared with my sister, along with the bananas foster pancakes. Both were delicious. The biscuits and gravy needed a little more gravy, but Harley brought it right over for us. It was a fun, bustling restaurant with great food.

Yelp
Excellent food . Pancakes were the bomb !! Service was very good. Ambience nothing to write home about
google avatar

Kerrisa L.

Yelp
Magnolias is a great brunch spot for family and friends! They have a large menu with tons of options from breakfast platters to omelets and pancakes galore! Heads up if you go from breakfast-lunch it gets very packed and the wait time averages 30min to 1hr! The staff was great and on top of everything!
google avatar

Toni G.

Yelp
I'm always up for something sweet and the German pancake at Magnolia House off of 1604 and 281 didn't disappoint. It comes as an appetizer so I ordered a side of bacon one pancake cup of coffee. I'm super satisfied. I don't need any more sugar today.

Elizabeth C.

Yelp
Waited 10 minutes on hold to place an order to go. Was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. Then once arrived, at time told, waited another 25 minutes for single Reuben sandwich to be given to me. Also, paid on the phone so I couldn't just leave. Sandwich was not bad but very cold upon arrival home, which was only a few blocks away.
google avatar

Sandra P.

Yelp
Always a great experience, love the Beni's and the pancakes of course! Definitely recommend, just plan for the wait, cuz it's popular but very worth the time!
google avatar

Joseph R. S.

Yelp
Always a good meal here. We've come in anywhere from pajamas to outings with friends. Try to put your name on the waitlist early. It's always packed during breakfast prime time.

Yelp
We had a great experience here at magnolias the food was amazing and came at a decent time. The ambiance is cozy and spacious, and the service was also really good! Def would recommend :)!
google avatar

Yelp
Too busy for okay food, not too special. Good food. main reason why I would go again would be the great service.
google avatar

Travis C.

Yelp
Just lost a long-standing customer. The food was great, as always. So was the service and the time it took to receive our order. But when we walked up to the register to check-out, we see a sign that says, going forward, Magnolia will be charging a 3.5% fee for every credit card transaction. There was no sign on the door to warn people of that before they ordered their food. If there had been a sign, I would've turned around and gone someplace else. I refused to do business with places to continue passing along their costs to me. I know, I know, the restaurant will tell me the alternative is to raise the prices for everyone and that this way, only the credit card users have to pay more. Well, that's B.S. Sorry, but I won't be going back. There are MANY other restaurants in town that are just as good as Magnolia. So go someplace else.
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
The lady said the table would be 1 hour. We left and 10 minutes later they text me to tell me the table was ready. There were empty tables all around. We even got on yelp to get on the waitlist. My son who is mentally challenged autistic was so disappointed on the way home because he loves the pancakes and atmosphere of magnolia pancake house. He was singing and smiling the whole way there. He didn't understand why we had to leave when there were lots of empty tables. That's a sure way to lose your customers.

Yelp
Food is always bussin Staff is always so nice Atmosphere is always nice and calming Poké stops close by if you play Pokemon go But again... FOOD IS BUSSIN

Yelp
This was our first time going and our last! We had high hopes for this pancake place but we were let down and had a terrible experience, we waited to be seated 20 minutes, ok I understand weekends are busy, we sat down and had ordered, we waited 23 minutes and the waitress finally can to us and did the cook misplaced our ticket!! Really! I asked for the manager and she could only take a discount off of our bill, very disappointed with the service, finally received our breakfast and it was disappointing also, we will not ever return!!

Yelp
Food was cold and service was too. They called us to be seated then saw that my sister was not there with us ... so my elderly mom walking with her walker and my autistic son have to wait to be seated until my sister walks in from parking lot. Waiting area was empty. Food was very mediocre.

Yelp
Great breakfast spot. Some of the best pancakes in San Antonio. The servers are friendly and efficient.

Kathy ..

Yelp
We have a great time at Magnolia Pancake Haus off of Heubner Rd in San Antonio. Our waitress, Sonia was outstanding! She was so friendly, attentive and caring. She "warmed" our coffee cups before pouring our coffee. She constantly checked on us and anticipated what we needed. She is truly an asset to this restaurant and we will ask for her when we go back!
google avatar

Oliver B.

Yelp
I only live a few miles away from this location and that makes me happy. The food is always good and the service is top notch. I really enjoy their coffee as well. They will even let you take your coffee in a to go cup when you are ready to leave. I got the weekend special was a cinnamon roll waffle for $11.50 plus tax. I added eggs and sausage patties for an extra charge. The waffle was delicious. If you can try it this weekend do it(11/2 -11/3)! The eggs and sausage patties were good as well. There is a wait time most of the time, but it's worth it in my opinion. Just get on their waitlist before heading to the restaurant and you will be good. Definitely eat at this place if you're hungry for a good breakfast.
google avatar

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
My waitress was amazing. She was attentive, and super friendly. The blueberry pancakes are really good, and they keep the syrup warmed up, which is a nice touch. I got a seasonal food, the grilled cheese, eggs Benedict. It was different, but I liked it. My boyfriend got a breakfast scramble bowl. I thought this meal was going to be expensive, because for breakfast it seems like all restaurants want to charge for things like refills on juices. But, the meal was only $38 total for everything that you see on the table here.

Ruby M.

Yelp
The waitlist system, the wait staff, the atmosphere and the the delicious food....all are superb. I had a breakfast scramble this time ( I have tried many different items) and throughly enjoyed it. Great taste and perfect portion. Highly recommend using Yelp to get on the waitlist then show up and enjoy!

Yolanda D.

Yelp
Great customer service and good food love the Texas shaped pecan waffles and my favorite is the mini chicken and waffles taste amazing . Get in yelp and join the wait list for faster seating as a popular place the decor and ambiance is awesome!

Yelp
Enjoyed the delicious food particularly the gingerbread pancakes. Service was courteous and lively. The ambiance provides an atmosphere of comfort and coziness .

Yelp
Nice breakfast place although its average they used to be top value. It's good but not like it used to be

Yelp
I don't often go out because let's face it most places are microwave garbage. Magnolia I HAD really liked. Service was extremely slow! Other people arriving after us had their food and done. When it arrived it looked like a dead fish just flopped on a plate. I had their DDD hash. It was a shame! Then I had the pancakes which I've had better out of a box. They comped us one meal but we still felt robbed. If I wanted assembly line food I would have gone to McDonald's. Sad. This wasn't any better. The server was nice and seemed almost ashamed. All of the fault was in the kitchen. Never again.
google avatar

Yelp
I'm not usually a fan of breakfast spots, but Magnolia Pancake Haus might just be the best breakfast place I've been to. It's extremely popular, especially on weekends, so I highly recommend getting in line through Yelp to avoid a long wait. The service was quick and everyone there was super friendly, which made the experience even better. The food is absolutely delicious. My fiancé always goes for the omelettes, while I usually stick to the basic breakfast with over-medium eggs, and everything has been great every time. This visit, we tried the strawberry shortcake pancakes which were sweet, fluffy, and fantastic. We also added a side of French toast, which was exactly what you'd expect, and it didn't disappoint. If you're looking for a solid breakfast spot, Magnolia Pancake Haus is definitely worth the visit! Highly recommend it for a hearty and tasty start to your day.

John B.

Yelp
Everything is always amazing!!! The wait can sometimes be a little long but the service and food quality make up for the long wait...also, if you walk around the back you can get beer or mimosas! If it's your first time try the southern benny! Freakin' fire!!

Karla K.

Yelp
The food and service are wonderful! We always enjoy our meal at Magnolia Pancake House
google avatar

Yelp
The food is always amazing here! Eggs and pancakes are the best I've had in a while. The service is exceptional, the servers are delightful and always on top of things. The ambiance is calm even when there's a full house.

Yelp
First time coming to the Magnolia Pancake Haus. We got here at 10am the wait time was already 40 to 50mins. Everyone that was coming in was willing to wait which is a great sign of good food and hospitality.the nice part about waiting is you don't have to just sit inside. They have an open area for people to walk around / let the kids run around. They put in your number and will text you when your table is ready. They have the wait time and placement on the yelp app. After sitting down you can really feel a southern charm. The staff is super friendly. The food was great everything came with a side of pancakes. I wish Benedict's had more hollandaise sauce. Other than that it was very good and we will be back!

Yelp
Seated immediately. Lindsay was my waitress and she was nice and quick to help me. She gave me the condiments I needed even before my food arrived. Food arrived quickly. Loved every bite and all the staff were friendly. Wonderful atmosphere .Highly recommend.
