Bookworm Hanoi

What a place that truly makes you want to stay for a long time. The collection is very diverse, not only fiction and non-fiction, but also history, economics, recipes, and even a special section for Vietnamese authors. They also sell cute items like bookmarks, posters, scarves, notebooks, and more, with lovely designs that support local artists, which makes the place even more special. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable, especially with a small coffee shop on the first floor, where you can enjoy your drink while relaxing on the second floor. I just wish the space could be a bit more spacious, but overall it’s a lovely spot to read, relax, and unwind.

Kute bookshop. They have Vietnamese signature souvenirs (lots of postcard i love ittt), books in various genres (English book). Very tranquil and peaceful atmosphere, you could find your conners at the stores to dive in your own world 😁 there’s also seatings outside the corridor for sunny days. Some area for improvement: - the air inside (even in winter) is a bit stuffy, you might review your store’s ventilation. - the seating in 2nd fl’s corridor is super chill, but i couldn’t sit there since there’s no sunshade, and maybe more comfy chairs Overall, pleasant time and very recommend for bookworms 🐛

THE most adorable spot in Hanoi for sure!! So much cute curated art and goods, as well as a stunning collection of books. My delight as I walked in realizing it was also a coffee shop was contagious. The staff were lovely and the mulberry lemonade and cookies were scrumptious!! A great spot to sit, read, and relax off the busy Hanoi streets.

This bookstore is a great place to sit down and just wander around. It has a nice selection of different genres and they also host events. The prices are reasonable and the staff also very friendly. They even have a souvenir part which is great ⭐️

Lovely bookstore in Hanoi with huge selection of books. There are few shelves for preloved books. Local books in english also sold here. I’m definitely happy with free bookmarks and stickers

I have mixed feelings about this place as I've been wanting to visit it and while I like the place and concept (bookshop and cafe in one), there were too many negatives encountered. Came on a weekend afternoon. It was fairly crowded when I arrived but there were still available seats on the 2nd floor. I almost couldn't enter because the entire entrance was choke full with motorbikes completely blocking the entrance. Wonder why these riders don't have common sense or manners to not block the door? Do they expect customers to teleport into the cafe? You need to be skinny, agile and able bodied to enter shops in Hanoi lol. Upon entering, there's a flight of red stairs on the left leading to the 2nd floor. They sell art prints, totes and scarves by the entrance. Really nice collection by local artists. There's limited seating and alot of kids and secondhand books on the 1st floor. Toilet was clean. I ordered their banana bread (30k) and yoghurt passionfruit drink (40k). The younger male staff who took my order was brusque and rude - I asked him if there were seats upstairs and he replied like a gangster. After ordering, he just turned around and I had to ask again if i should wait or he would bring my order upstairs. The banana bread was delicious and warm; the drink was good too. But there's very little proper tables on the 2nd floor. It's more for browsing books than actually having drinks/food. My "table" was a stool smaller than my food tray. There's alot more books upstairs sorted based on themes eg fiction etc. There's also an outdoor balcony sitting area but it was way too hot outside. They have a good collection of both local and international books; vintage books and newer releases. Prices were decent. It got very crowded over time. It was really unpleasant when some local youths took up alot of seats while shouting and scrolling phones on the 2nd floor. The whole place was initially super quiet before this because you don't read books with your mouth. Basically they were freeloading on the free seats, aircon and toilet without buying any drinks or books. All while disturbing the cafe customers and those genuinely looking for books. I bought a book, a tote and an art print after eating. The older man who was the cashier only smiled when he saw that I was buying something. You got the impression he only cared to be friendly when money was spent. I like the place but customer service needs major improvement and I hope they can deter freeloaders from disturbing others and taking up seats meant for customers. And please tell riders to not block their entrance with their motorbikes!

so many easter eggs about vietnamese culture and the space really makes you want to just lose yourself in the words infront of you. They also have a cafe space and a variety of options to choose from. If you’re a book lover/ reader visiting hanoi you should definitely check it outt!
