Service and atmosphere were top notch. Our server was attentive, charming and all around great. The wine guy (sommelier?) Was great and gave us an excellent wine pairing. Food was good, but I found everything to be much too sweet. If you like sweet, then their Kung Pao Lobster and General Tso's chicken will be right up your alley. The broccoli was excellent, and not too sweet. Overall, I would definitely try this place again, but I would ask my server to identify some more savoury options.

Went as a group of 8 on a Friday evening. The restaurant was already full by the time we arrived (6pm) so we were lucky to have booked a table. The food was delicious, especially the Peking duck and BBQ pork. However, I would expect more in terms of portion and flavor, given that the price was way above average. The servers were nice and helpful in general. We went as a group of 8 so a 21% gratuity was automatically added to the bill as per the rules of the restaurant. Our server did not tell us that extra sauce for the BBQ pork would cost $10, so we were surprised to see that on the bill. Overall it was a positive experience, but given the price and the food I'll say once is enough.

Lovely ambience and a good overall experience. The smoked black cod and the frog legs were the standout dishes overall and definitely would recommend ordering them if you go. The Peking duck was okay overall; I expected something a bit more special for the price point and experience, but it was still good. Would consider going back in the future to try a different variety of dishes as the standouts above were wonderful.

It's good. Frankly, really good. Room is exquisite. I don't find people that go into places like this all with this self proclaimed critical Asian palate are really all that credible. In all my visits only had one dish that was mildly regrettable, but not necessarily bad. Just a dish I wouldn't order again. Otherwise everything else was really nice.

A restaurant with great history. It is not a traditional Chinese restaurant so don't expect the same as those regular Chinese restaurants. However, if you are aiming for a formal dining in enjoying fine Chinese dishes (but relatively high price), this is the right place to go. At least I was totally impressed by the food as a Chinese myself. Peking duck was awesome. They have very nice service and good environment. A little dark though.

A group of 6 of us had dinner here recently and we received very good service from the wait staff to the sous chef who carved up our Peking Duck dish. This restaurant is right beside the Paradox Hotel entrance, formerly the Trump Hotel for this who do not know the West Georgia address of the place. I will say this is one of the most expensive dim sum dishes restaurants in Vancouver. We were going to try some dishes but let's put it this way I know Maine Lobster is expensive, but $32 for a so gle piece of Maine lobster Siu Mai? We also had the smoked black cod, crispy rice with dried prawns in soup, beef and flat noodles, Stir fried broccoli with tofu, and a free range chicken dish. I would say the dinner was good with the Signature Smoked black cod being the best dish even ahead of the Peking duck. Was plenty of room at the table to sit and they had an okay selection of cocktails and wines. Nice to try for a holiday dinner.

Did not think Chinese food could be elevated to this level. All the dishes we ordered were presented beautifully. Food was tasty but the wow factor and experience was more on their presentation and the visuals. Staff were friendly and atmosphere was great. Food was on the pricey side but definitely worth going for the experience.

A Christmas treat. As an Asian who’s had consumed many “Peking Ducks” I couldn’t tell that it was roasted with apple wood. You have to order 48hrs in advance. The Wok Fried Duck fried rice was a nice add on, the rice was partly crunchy. I can def smell the truffle on the Siu Mai as they opened the steamer. The rest were all standard to me. Abundant wines and Asian themed cocktails to choose from. Tried the Hanami cocktail, I did enjoy it. The highlight- Hot & Sour soup thou I don’t see it in the menu anymore. Its like a fusion version with a supreme broth you find at Chinese weddings. Overall, if $$$ isn’t an issue, give this elevated Chinese food place a try.

Mott 32 has officially ruined all other dim sum for me-- but in the best possible way. Every bite was thoughtful, refined, and unforgettable, setting a new standard I didn't even realize I was missing. The ambiance alone is worth the visit. It reminded me of Dishoom--moody, elegant, and immersive, striking that perfect balance between old-world charm and modern sophistication. It feels special without ever feeling stuffy. From the atmosphere, to the exceptional service that made the entire meal feel like a special occasion, to the food itself, Mott 32 is truly an experience--not just a meal. I'll be chasing this level of dim sum from here on out, and happily returning the next time I'm in the area! Can't wait to try the rest of the menu!

Overall very good service and delicious food at a high price point. We ordered duck in advance and chose duck fried rice as second course. We spent around 95 USD per person which included two appetizers, two soup, duck, duck fried rice, four drinks, and two dessert shared between four. Duck fried rice was exceptional with crunchy rice and leftover duck meat. The sweet and sour soup dumplings are a MUST order! So cute and comes with a good kick. Ordered the hong long ice tea for drink and wasnt able to taste the alcohol. Everything was great but at such a high price point, I would expect the portions to be larger.

What an incredible dining experience. We were in town for a conference and decided to splurge for dinner, and Mott 32 was an absolute treat. The sweet and sour ibérico pork XLBs were the standout dish for the night! Incredibly flavorful. But honestly, everything we had to eat was simply excellent. This is a very classy restaurant, so I highly recommend dressing up a bit. The staff is very attentive, and the service overall was fairly quick from ordering to receiving our first dishes.

Overall: A // 5 stars Highly innoative and expertly executed dim sum that truly turns traditional dishes into something even more magical. Everything highly priced, but understandable considering their captivating rendition on every dish on their menu. (Morel Mushroom Cheung Fun: A) - This dish is a thoughtful elevated take on vegetarian rice rolls; julienned vege is wrapped in a crispy shell, followed by a soft rice noodle roll and topped with morel and soy -- all while impressively maintaining a multitude of textures. (Quail Egg Siu Mai: A) - Looks like a regular siu mai, but its stuffed with an entire quail egg!! The soft-steamed nature of the egg adds a pleasant layer of runny egg and works beautifully beyond the gimmick. The crab, pork, and truffle flavors also help develop a sophistocated meat-forward palette. (Lobster Ha Gow: A) - This elevated dumpling highlights lobster in two ways. First, the the lobster meat is still whole inside the dumpling to give it that luscious texture and sweet tenderneas. The shells are reduced into a rich lobster oil, which is a succulent flavor booster. (Jasmine Cooler: B) - Simple and refreshing motttail that serves as an elevated iced tea; I was really excited for the orange blossom but found that component too subtle. A beautiful and interestingly decorated restaurant. Even a trip to the restroom is an exotic experience. The shrimp har gow and spring rolls with prawn were absolutely perfect prepared! Delicious! Also the kitchen was amiable in do a vegetable substitution on our beef stir fry. Most unfortunate however, was the Signature Lobstet Ma Po Tofu. A nice presentation but the love stopped there. At a whopping $85 it didn't have more than 2-3 ounces or less of lobster, claws aside. The Ma Po flavor was bland and listless. Had the dish been a good ma po recipe it would have lessened the disappointment but it was just Presentation and Price on display. A Signature Big Miss!

I was served a warm can of beer with a glass of ice. The can was ten dollars. The glass of ice was presumably included in the cost. I shan't be returning.

Food is flavourful and delicious! Very high quality ingredients. Servers are always polite. Complimentary birthday treat! The tables are spacious and decor is unique.

Back to Mott 32 in Vancouver after about 11 months! Still putting up the 5 Star rating from this Yelper. Took the family and had the Peking Duck, AMAZING! If you go, get a reservation in advance and reserve the Duck. I also highly recommend the Abalone and the Frog Leg appetizers. Our server was Michelle and she did an outstanding job making sure we had everything we needed and never went without. Our Sommelier this time was Robert and he selected a wonderful Syrah from Australia. It paired perfect with the duck. Everything from start to finish was excellent! We will be back! Cheers!

Would give 0 stars if possible. One of the most overrated overhyped restaurants I've ever been to. Nothing was good. The duck was abysmal. I suspect it was deep fried, but whether it was or not it just wasn't good. Seemed like oversized poor quality duck to begin with and however they cooked it didn't help. We seek out Peking duck wherever we go and this was some of the worst. We have had much better duck at much less expensive places. The other dishes were mediocre at best, which is not acceptable for this price. The waiter was annoying and condescending. I had a Hong Kong ice tea which was weak and flavorless. The scene was well a scene. Cheesy too loud music and a lot of wannabe influencers wearing too much perfume and instagramming. After a couple hours our sad party of 8 paid our bill of well over a thousand dollars and left feeling totally ripped off. And then got some take out Indian food a little later.

Mott 32 was voted the best Chinese restaurant in Vancouver, and it lived up to expectations. The ambience and the service of the restaurant was truly spectacular and in very welcoming. The restaurant was incredibly busy that night, but the weight staff took their time and recommended some great food options. The general T'so is the best I've ever had and the crab fried rice was unique and very flavorful. The hot and sour soup, however, was a little underwhelming and for the price, I was expecting a bigger portion. Mott is expensive, but it's worth it.

A friend of mine had wanted to come here for a long time and we finally checked it out last weekend. We made reservation and was seated promptly on Saturday around 12:30. The place was half full, it was not as busy as I thought it would be. We ordered the phoenix tea, Peking duck, Siu Mai, BBQ pork bun and a Thai mango dessert roll. The decor was interesting and the service was definitely top notch. However, I wasn't impressed with the duck, I'd say it's solid but far from what I'd expect it would be for Michelin star restaurant. The best part of the thin wrap. The best part of the meal was the BBQ bun and the Siu Mai. It was the BEST bbq bun I had in my life. The Siu Mei was very interesting with the runny quail egg inside. You definitely need to slow down, take small bites to enjoy the experience. The meal was good, but not out of this world and definitely not worth the bill.

A friend recommended this for more modern and upscale Chinese food in Vancouver. Reservations are on open table. When you arrive, you hear music outside, and it has Hakkasan / Tao Vegas vibes. We brought our kids but were definitely the only ones there with young kids at 8pm on a Saturday. Drinks: an interesting cocktail list and some notable wines on a very large wine list for a Chinese restaurant! We ended to with a Pinot noir based sparkling wine from British Columbia and some Asian themed cocktails.. - Midnight miso: strong on the espresso, mild on the miso - Forbidden rose: well balanced, with lychee and rose We actually wanted some Chinese bbq items (pork belly, duck) to start, but they were already sold out! - Siu Mai: soft-boiled quail egg placed inside an iberico pork Siu Mai with black truffle - like a non fried Chinese scotch egg - Shanghai noodles with scallions: fried scallions, dried shrimp, lots of flavor, great texture - we ordered this one for the kids - Crab fried rice: not that remarkable on its own but great with the flying fish roe and as a base for other dishes - Lobster with steamed egg white and truffle: all my favorite things in one dish, generous on the lobster meat (removed from the shell) and black truffle (also truffle oil) All the food was solid. As noted above, the vibe as modern and upscale, yet they also had kid friendly plates and bowls, which I appreciated! It's not your usual higher end Chinese restaurant, but it's worth checking out for some fancy Vegas style vibes.

Meh.... Beautifully-presented but empty of soul. Every dish is exquisite, and the ingredients are top-end, but I wasn't moved by anything. This is what happens when you toss a bunch of money at the menu, and it's all flawless but meaningless. Surprised by the rave reviews - I thought it was just OK.

Mott 32 is a high end Chinese restaurant that's definitely on the pricey side, but after our first meal, it definitely proved its worth. Although my friends recommended the place for dim sum, we had other plans so we ended up there for dinner. They did have a handful of dim sum items, and we started off with xiao long bao's filled with hot and sour soup which were amazing. The cucumbers with pomelo is was another great starter which took two ingredients normally not served together. $78 for char siu is a bit pricey but it was also the best char siu I have had outside of Asia. The lobster mapo was flavorful with just a little heat and with a generous amount of lobster meat. The only dish that was a little underwhelming was their take on general tso - maybe it wasn't greasy enough haha. Desserts are not to be missed and our almond and chocolate xiao long bao were XLB in shape only, with the dessert being solid. Mott 32 also has a great drink list and we tried cocktails, wine and sake. The hanami (Canadian Club Rye / Bombay Gin / Umeshu / Yuzu / Shiso / Ginger Beer / Chrysanthemum) sounds like it has a lot going on but the end result is very well balanced. The wine list is extensive and the wines by the glass option has perhaps the widest range in pricing I have seen with some very nice albeit pricey options. Service was well-coordinated and pleasant and the overall experience was definitely a treat. Will definitely return to try their dim sum, as well as their dinner again!

Food was mediocre, service was impersonal. Not worth the hype for asian cusine. Better choices in Vancouver or Richmond.

I had very high expectations for this restaurant but unfortunately it did not meet my expectations. The service was ok. Not great. The food was mediocre. The best part of the meal were the dumplings.

Outstanding food, excellent service, and lovely ambiance. One of my colleagues had found this place and also had the foresight to order the Peking duck (they need advance notice for the duck). I loved the soup dumplings and the jellyfish. The shrimp dumplings and the pork belly was excellent as well. The duck was the star of the show and while it wasn't as good as some of the versions I've had in Hong Kong and China, it was one of the best I've had in North America. My cocktail was wonderful as well.

Absolutely DELICIOUS! So, it's been a great week here in Vancouver, and Yelp! has been super helpful, as always - we simply could not leave without trying one of the most well-known Chinese cuisine establishments worldwide. So, we booked a table tonight and strolled there from the Convention Center - took about 10-15 minutes. We were welcomed and seated in a nice 2-person table with a view of the kitchen, central dining area, and bar. Our waitstaff were polite and prompt. Grey was our main server, and he really helped us choose our items carefully - their menu is amazing, and it is EASY to over-order. He helped us trim things down to some very special dishes: -Whole crispy abalone (umami for daaaaaaays... amazing! - Hot and sour Ibérico pork soup dumplings - King prawns with black pepper, soy, green onion, and garlic - Black garlic and shrimp fried rice Everything came out perfectly seasoned and at a nice, leisurely pace. The cocktails were tasty, and the ambience was comfortable - I definitely appreciated them keeping the music levels low, so we could enjoy our conversation together. Overall, a wonderful evening, and I would definitely recommend! Will return the next time we are in town!

I am giving this restaurant a 4 star because of the extremely attentive service. This includes the ambiance of the restaurant, however the restaurant is quite dark, my personal preference would be the restaurant should have abit more light to see what you are eating. As for the food, we were not impressed, there are better Chinese restaurant with great food. We had the Peking duck, instead of slicing it in front of you, they brought it to another table to sliced. I did not like the pancake that comes with it, was very sticky despite being separated by paper. It was challenging to fold up your Peking Duck slices. For a whole duck, there weren't too many slices, they separated parts of the slices & gives you a small plate of just dark skin that is accompanied by sugar. The 2nd course of the Peking Duck was fried rice, its "wok hei" was good however we barely found any duck meat in the fried rice... frankly we felt that we got short changed on the Pekíng Duck. We had the smoked black cod, nice presentation however the cod was too sweet for my liking, it was coated in a syrupy sauce, a pity as you could not savour the smokiness of the cod. The veggies we ordered was ok. The food was not stellar & definitely below my expectation for the price of the food. Go for the ambiance & service if you like that with no expectation of the food.

Impeccable service from start to finish. The waitstaff were attentive and knowledgeable. The food was exceptional, fresh, high quality ingredients. The duck was perfectly roasted, with crisp skins, and full of flavours. We love the (seasonal) mapo tofu and the duck fried rice. The smoked cod was a feast for the senses! The wine pairing recommended was perfect with our meals.

Hands THE MOST EXPENSIVE Chinese restaurant I've been to, but the decoration, service, and food explained why. When I first entered the door, I immediately noticed how upscale the restaurant was. The hostess seated us right away. Our waiter was attentive and checked up on us often. The food.... I will let the pictures explain. All I will say is just look at how the duck glistens!

So we came for the duck. This was no ordinary duck. This was a duck you ordered ahead of time but by the time we arrived, it was expertl roasted. And then carved up table side with such precision. It was a lot for two people. You're better off with 3-4. But still we had plenty of duck. We also ordered soup dumplings. These were some of my favorite soup dumplings because they were filled with a hit and sour soup. So different. Plus they were presented on wood trays that avoided them getting burst when you lifted them up. And do not miss the soy sauce ice cream!! It's like salted caramel but just better. It shouldn't work but it does. Service was impeccable and the inside is unique. Overall, a special experience.

Ever part of our luncheon was superb! Our waiter was extremely helpful in finding delicious options on the gluten free menu. The Nova Scotia lobster fried rice was amazing! We also share string beans with wagyu beef, impressive, the lamb chop, so delicious. Our food, service and ambiance were perfect.

Very fancy Michelin starred, great ambience, service and food. It is famous for duck and majority of the folks ordered that and relished it thoroughly. I ordered Chicken fried shallots, black bean sauce . It was really good. Definitely one of the best Chinese foods I have ever had !!

I had the pleasure of visiting Mott 32 for lunch and am reluctant to say that you get what you pay for. To be fair, I always thought that "hey this is Vancouver, why would we ever have dim sum here when you have Richmond", right? Wrong. Mott 32 is well renowned around the globe but this one just did such an outstanding job. Although it wasn't very busy, the service was nevertheless impeccable and their attention to detail was spot on. This is not the place to try to get the most bang out of your buck. Instead, treat yourself to one of the best dim sum experiences I've had in Vancouver. My favorites were definitely the Rice rolls. Definitely come through to have an elevated dining experience.

This place had great reviews so we thought we would give it a try. We made reservations and asked for a quiet out of traffic spot. However, we were seated in a terrible spot. There was nonstop traffic where we sat. Immediately behind my wife's chair was a door that the staff kept coming in and out of. For the prices at this place there should not be a bad seat in the house. The food was ok. But for the price it is not worth it. My job enables my wife and I to travel around the world. That being said we have been lucky to try a lot of great restaurants. This place was a massive disappointment and not a world class restaurant.

We came for the whole duck and we were not disappointed. The presentation, carving tableside, and the flavor/quality are worth the rather high price. You get an elevated experience along with the duck itself. The one knock I have against it is the skin, which is not crispy. The bbq pork is also to-die-for - each bite was succulent and savory/sweet. We enjoyed the fried frog legs as well. Service was superb. We'll definitely be back.

We came here for dinner to celebrate our anniversary tonight. It was pricey and we knew from looking at the menu before booking the reservation but decided to splurge for the occasion. It is very opulent inside but the seatings are also very comfortable. The decor is reminiscent of what I saw in pictures, movies and TV of Shanghai society before the war. We had a whole Peking duck between the 2 of us and it was carved right next to us. 8 pieces of thinly sliced crispy skin were served as an amuse-bouche. The majority of the rest of the bird was carved and sliced with warm flour crepes. The crepes were perfect with a slight chew to them. We had a fried rice add-on made with whatever meat left carved down to the bones. I would dare say it was the best fried rice I've ever had. The mix of puffed rice in the mix gives a perfect crunch to every bite. We also had asparagus with crab meat in an egg white sauce as a vegetable dish to round out our dinner. In retrospect, it wasn't really necessary because the portions of our dishes were rather generous. However, it was deciduous. The asparagus was fresh and crunchy and the crab meat dressing was sweet with seafood freshness. Service was extremely friendly and attentive. We were glad too the restaurant was busy with all tables seated on a Monday night.

There is so much hype around Mott 32 in Vegas that when I saw they had a location in Vancouver, I wanted to try this spot out! We made a reservation and I was surprised to see that this restaurant location is not packed compared to Vegas. The server was super nice to us and gave us great recommendations. The food here is nothing special and it wasn't amazing compared to other Asian restaurants. It's definitely upscale and had very good presentation, but the food was just ok. I would not come back since the food was super pricey for what it was and it wasn't delicious.

@jfoodreviews here If you want upscale Chinese food, then please do come to mott 32. Although this is a chain in the major cities (Manila, Shanghai, New York, Vegas) so glad I got to try this here in VANCOUVER. If you are going to try the duck, you must order it advance (24hour notice) they have a few if you come in adhoc, however it does take 1 hour to cook if you order . Prices as of sept 2024 $165 duck $35 duck fried rice (add on if you only buy the duck) $35 roasted pork belly $24 hot and sour soup dumpling (4pc) $24 truffle egg siu mai (3pc) The service is absolutely top notch, the constant filling of water, changing of plates, and checking in on you is just the perfect amount. In terms of food taste and cleanliness. It's CLEAN Chinese food, where you don't get a sense of greasiness or oily cloying feeling which is rare especially for Chinese food. If I were to do it again, I would get all the dishes again! This isn't my first time going here. Another dish I love is also the Shanghai scallion noodles those are also delicious if you aren't into rice.

I've come here twice at this point and each time have left super happy with Mott 32. Their most famous item is the peking duck (must be reserved ahead of time). They bring someone out to carve the duck for you, and it includes a plate of crispy duck skin (should be dipped in sugar), two plates of duck meat, pancake crepes to roll the duck meat, cucumber, green onion, and hoisin/sesame sauce. Please get the duck fried rice as a second course if you order the peking duck -- they add some sort of crunchy topping as well as asparagus that makes it pretty unique. I've also tried a couple other items like the pork belly roll and the crispy triple-cooked black angus short rib. I was expecting the pork belly roll to be like a beef pancake roll but this is literally pork belly rolled with cucumber, spring onion, and garlic). Still delicious though, and whatever sauce they put it in is sweet yet savory at the same time. We were recommended the short rib by the server but did not think it was very good. It almost tasted over cooked (dry) and simply did not compare to the duck course. Overall, such a lovely ambiance and great for a date night or with family. Please order the duck in advance!

Stopped by for a weekday lunch with a friend; we had reservations but the place was pretty empty around noon when we arrived. The interior seems pretty big (not sure if it's just the layout that makes it seem very spacious) and generally very elegantly decorated. The service was very kind, prompt, and attentive, from start to finish. The two of us ordered a bunch of smaller dishes from the dim sum / lunch menu to share: The prawn hargow was SO good - as soon as it arrived you could smell that iconic, authentic fragrant dim sum steam coming out. Each piece was so yummy and had lots of juicy filling (and prawns super delicious). The spare ribs were not bad, they were a little on the blander side unfortunately but I did like that they were boneless haha. Me and my lazy eating,,, We tried to order the crispy BBQ pork buns but were told that they were already out for the day :( How they ran out by 12:30pm ish is beyond me, it was really quite disappointing. We ordered the beef buns instead, which thankfully were also really delicious. The crust was really light and flaky, and the filling was fantastic. Savoury, flavourful beef paired with not too much pepper, and I also loved the onions. The chilli oil dumplings (紅油抄手) was surprisingly good; we were a bit sceptical at first since it's not traditionally a part of Cantonese/dim sum cuisine. The fillings were really big and savoury, and the chilli oil smelled so good that we wanted to dip everything in it. And it was actually spicy! Always a treat to find that outside of Asia Finally we had the egg tarts - SO. GOOD. The crust was so soft and delicate - you could see the dozens of layers after layer. The filling was also amazing - not too sweet, perfectly soft/liquidy on the inside, and was a wonderful dessert for our meal. We also got the mango paradise and the jasmine cooler which were both quite delightful, I loved the jasmine one in particular. Overall, it was definitely on the pricier side, coming out to around $60-70 each for this; I'm not convinced that the quality/amount of food was worthwhile at this price to come again (maybe it would have been better with a larger group)? Still, I do think it was a good experience to have come once, especially given how popular/famous Mott 32.

Mott32 Vancouver is always my favorite dim sum place in Vancouver. It is definitely one of the most expensive restaurants, but every bite will worth it. We ordered cha siu bao, siu mai with quail egg, miso cod dumpling, sweet and sour xiao lun bao, and chocolate oolong tea xiao lun bao. The bao is very crispy, and cha siu is very soft and juicy inside the bao. Siu mai is very special because there is a soft boil quail egg inside the siu mai. There are no other restaurants that have sweet and sour dumpling and miso black cod dumpling. They are all special. Finally end up with oolong tea chocolate dumpling dessert, which is a special to end the whole meal. We had dine in for dinner before last year when we traveled to Vancouver. Both are positive experience and considerable to try. Price is on the expensive side, with dim sum average price of above $20 per one kind. Keep in mind, tea price is per pot as well. I would say expected $70-$80 per person for lunch and $150 and above per person for dinner.

It's not a traditional Chinese restaurant. It's a Chinese fusion restaurant. The wait staff was attentive, friendly, and professional. We had an order of seafood hot and sour soup which the waitress offered to split it into two bowls so we can both had a taste. The presentation of the soup dumplings was wonderful. The mixed seafood fried rice was plentiful and delicious; I'd get it again. The prawns of the General Tso prawns were juicy and tender. The wok kale flavor was a bit light. It had a great selections of desserts. We had soy sauce ice cream; you can actually taste the soy sauce which was interesting and good. The mango soup was great.

Can we talk? This place makes Chinese food like it's nobodies business. Absolutely positively the best Chineese food I have had....ever. Hands down--send home the fans. Game over. I mean, seriously, I might come to Vancouver just to come here. The Peking duck was moist with perfectly crisped skin and each scrumptious bite drew me closer to a heavenly plane. Although I don't log my dreams or remember them, I suspect this meal--alongside an episode of GOT where I was the purported protagonist-- was featured. The General Tso chicken was cooked perfect with the perfect size of chicken chunks and perfect batter and cooked just right. The sauce was velvety smooth with the perfect amount of seasoning and the ensconced chicken was moist and delicious. I know what you're thinking....the chicken and broccoli couldn't have been special. Well, ok, maybe you're right....but the chicken was prepared with intention, and the right size, chunk shapes, and seasoning while the broccoli was cooked just right without sag, sog or hard crunch. Sauce (on side) was best ever. The fried rice was delectable and seasoned just right and the portion and proportion of ingredients was generous and just right respectively. Bacon and cucumber rolls were very special--not the largest portion but for what it lacked in that realm it made up for in terms of unique taste. Not meaning to come across hackneyed or cause a rolling of the eyes-- the Chow Fun was fun to eat and throughly enjoyable. I have made this before-- the quick and easy way and the long and sophisticated way--it was clear that they took the latter approach. There were layers of taste the amalgamated to create a fresh, cheery, and enjoyable main course. Service was dutifully attentive and professional. They made us feel special. They checked in repeatedly and often and even explained how items were prepared and consumption suggestions (e.g. soup dumpling scooped and gullet). To be frank, I felt like I was a king--not in the obnoxious authoritarian sort of way but in the way they treated us. The ambiance was classy, new-age, and high-end with the kitchen visible from tables. It supported the rest of the experience. I seldom give out scores of 5. I reserve that for impeccable places that I consider destination stops. Congratulations to the restaurant... and to those who make the wise choice to come here.

Food was awesome we tried many different things on the menu Ambiance was awesome Place was recommended to us by our hotel and it didn't disappoint Our waiter was phenomenal as was everyone who stopped at the table to check on us. I would strongly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion

We had dinner here yesterday Jan 11th, 2026 and I am still in shock about the horrible experience. We booked our reservation weeks in advance and preordered the peking duck. We specified my hunsband's shellfish allergy on the reservation and mentioned/asked the waiter multiple times while ordering the other courses. He always answered unbothered or even joking "I think there isn't any shellfish in that". We are halfway through eating the peking duck and he mentions the plum sauce has oyster sauce and leaves. We got upset and a woman came out to talk to us. Before saying anything she asked "Who did we murder?" jokingly. This was so unsensitive and disrespectful for someone with a very dangerous allergy. We immediately stood up and left. This is completely unnacceptable for a restaurant and the worse part was not the misunderstanding with the plum sauce, but the staff's treatment towards us. We are very disappointed and will escalate this.

The duck was moist and meaty. Pre-order a day in advance. The pancake for the duck was very thin, exactly how I like it. Love the texture of their egg white and black sesame dessert. Egg tarts needs 20 mins to bake, fresh and not overly sweet. If you have a tight schedule, pick another day because this place is meant to be enjoyed. Not rush through.

Food is great. Service is top notch. Only complaint I have is the duck is not roasted well enough so there is a bit of sour taste that I do more like

A very very upscale restaurant featuring high quality Chinese cuisine. The duck was small and disappointing. In China it is served with soup made from the carcass. Not here. The skin was soft. Not crunchy. Sad. BUT. All of the other dishes were delicious and the service was very nice. I went as a party of 11 guests. Sitting at a super long table rather than a round one effectively ended much conversation. Sad. For the price of the meal I left more disappointed than delighted.

The crispy pork belly is not crispy at all. Not worth to try. Many other restaurants and even food courts have better crispy pork belly for cheaper price. However, their server was friendly and nice, after we complained the crispy pork, she offered us the dessert.

You're here for the EXPERIENCE AND great tasting food for some reviews claiming they had similar tasting food at lesser price. We had all of our criteria's met. Wonderful service, food, ambiance & environment. We savored every dish from the beginning ( appetizers: soup dumplings & cucumber )( waygu fried rice, Schezwan chicken, Peaking duck, ). With this, our party of 4 fully satisfied. The whole duck is initially presented at the table followed by someone coming back to carve @ serve it. Duck is provided with thin crepes and fixings which you should individually roll u prior to eating. SHOUT out to our amazing server Bobby who made wonderful recommendations . The American foodie in me would come back here on my next visit to Canada !

We had high expectations, but ended up underwhelmed. The food was tasty, the duck salad in particular was beautiful, we savoured every bite, but the soup dumplings were sour and bitter, was it lemon balm? We expected a nice, delicate, unctious black cod, instead it was deep fried, candied, and tasted like camp fire (after a week of camping following a few weeks of smoke from the raging wildfires, well. My husband was surprised that anyone deliberately made food taste like a camp fire). The lamb was spectacular. I ordered a vodka martini witb a twist, it was gin. Our server wasn't around to check it or even fill our water glass until we paid. The table next to us didn't bother eating food, took lots of photos. Then there was the table with the kid with too much money accomplished by models who kept heading to powder their noses en deux. Must have been some rough stuff, as he was picking at and wiping his nose whenever they left, then all were happy again as he bragged about more overpriced food he spent a month's rent on in Dubai. Do these people even like food? We asked for each dish to be brought out separately, they weren't. Wait, wait, wait here's your drink, wait, salad, ooh! While eating that here are the soup dumplings--please leave the lid on as we finish this course, wait, wait, water out, wait, wait, lamb (I thought that was supposed to be last?) then while we had our few bites of that the smoky candied cod arrived (why again did they do that?) The atmosphere was nice, but then the music changed to bad schmoovy. My goals included hot springs, fancy Chinese, and a glacier, two out of three ain't bad, but Vancouver did not impress me in the right way. Also, don't drive up Hastings.

You'll feel like you're transported into a comic book where they serve the best food. The food is truly amazing. This is the best BBQ pork bun ever. The filling is full and flavorful. I never thought that I would be someone that can taste the complexity in food. It happened here. The ratio of bun to filling is perfect. I should have stayed with the Dim Sum theme. I made a mistake ordering General Tso's chicken. I wanted to try something different. The regret is that the quantity is too much. The enjoyment of having small bite of flavor was missing. The kicker is that the owner or head chef dresses up like a manga boss and prepares the food.

Hmm. based on some of the Yelp reviews, a lot of people are not great fans of Mott32. Well, we're from out of town, so can't really judge this in comparison with other Vancouver Chinese places (I'm sure there are plenty of great ones). But for us, we really liked this place - so 5 stars. We've been here both for lunch and dinner a couple of times. We ordered the Peking Duck (you need to do that 1 day in advance) and tried some of our favorite dim sum (esp. soup dumplings) and some new ones. Posted a few of pages from the extensive menu.

Had a very delicious dinner here with my family! First time checking this place out and really enjoyed the meal. It's a little pricey, but the savoury dishes tasted absolutely delicious, the service was impeccable and the space was very beautiful. For starters, we got the truffle siu mai (3 for $24) and the scallop, shrimp and beetroot dumplings (4 for $20 but we added an extra one). Definitely some elevated dimsum. The truffle siu mai was absolutely impeccable. Next, we had the stir fried tenderloin and the wok fried scallops. Both were phenomenal. Great umami flavors - the tenderloin was cooked perfectly with the crunchy asparagus and the scallops came with these flavor packed morel mushrooms. The highlight was the apple wood roasted Peking duck ($98). You have to pre order one day in advance but we asked on the day of, and luckily they were able to serve us. It was cool to have the chef cut it in front of us. The wraps were nice and thin and served hot. We also had the sautéed string beans with the wagyu beef (wished there was more meat) and the lobster fried rice (wished there was more lobster). For dessert, we shared the mango soup, matcha cheese cake, and mango glutinous rice roll. Nothing overly special -- you can get all these desserts for cheaper at other HK style dessert shops but we were craving something sweet.

Some of the best Dimsum in the city (also the most expensive). Great high scale vibes in the restaurant and everything on the menu is fantastic. Service was top notch, would definitely come back
