Absolutely Unacceptable – We Felt Taken Advantage Of
Our experience at The Mulia in Bali was one of the most frustrating hotel stays we have ever had. From the start, the pricing was misleading. What we were initially quoted kept changing, with extra fees being added later without proper explanation. It genuinely felt like we were being taken advantage of rather than treated like paying guests.
The front desk situation was beyond unacceptable. We were forced to wait for nearly two hours with no real assistance, no clear answers, and no sense of urgency. My family was exhausted after traveling, yet we were left standing and waiting while staff did nothing to resolve the issue. We were passed around, given different explanations, and kept in the dark the entire time.
The receptionist we dealt with was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. We were told things that later turned out not to be true, which only added to the frustration. Instead of trying to help or take responsibility, the staff made us feel like we were the problem.
For a hotel that advertises itself as “luxury,” this was a shocking level of poor service, lack of transparency, and disrespect toward guests. We left feeling stressed, angry, and deeply disappointed.
I would strongly warn others—especially families—to think twice before staying here. Based on our experience, this hotel does not deliver on its promises and does not treat its guests with the honesty or care they deserve.
