"True Terroir at Santiago Wine Club Chilean wine is having a moment, with vintners discovering the myriad terroirs in the country spanning over 10 latitudes from the Pacific to the Andes--with over two dozen grape varietals. Many of the most avant-garde projects are small producers making garage or even underground wines alongside the reference wines. Enter Santiago Wine Club. The owners, two wine-loving friends (one French, one Chilean), teamed up to bring these inspiring wines to their loyal patrons in Barrio Lastarria. Arranged by valley, their are obscure, fun, serious wines for everyone. Owners are usually at the store and know their wines well. Perfect for any wine lover or drinker to take a bottle home--or drink while in town. Rosal 386, almost corner Victoria Subercaseux, Barrio Lastarria Phone: 56 (2) 2632 6596"

The owner was great with me and very knowledgeable. He recommended a variety I had never heard of and it really hit the spot. He opened it before I left because I wasn’t sure if my digs had a cork screw.

A great wine buying experience! After a few days in Santiago we were looking for some bottles to bring home and the gentleman at the front heard us out and helped us pick some bottles that we would enjoy to remind us of our time in Santiago. Very helpful staff and decent prices.

The shop owner is very nice and knowledgeable about the wine selection. We can’t wait to try the wine when we’re back home. Bonus point they speak English and take credit card (Amex).

Good wines but not so good service. Bought a 18.000 bottle of red that was corked. Sent them a msg about it on WhatsApp. They read the msg, After 8 hrs They sent a copy/paste msg that They will answer when They can. Never heard from them again. Not fun throwing away money.

Yelp
Another great find in the city this is a small but well stocked shoppe for wine and spirits. You find things here that you cannot in other places so if you're shopping for something unique this is where I would recommend

Yelp
This is a tiny wine shop that we happened across on TripAdvisor while searching for somewhere nearby that we could find boxes to bring a case of wine back to the US in on the place. Unfortunately they did not have such boxes at the Santiago Wine Club, but we became so intrigued by the comments of the man working there (the owner? the curator?) that he had boutique, and better wines than those of the large wine shop where we could buy the boxes we needed that we actually returned (walking, in the rain) after buying said boxes. With 5 slots to fill, we took his advice on which bottles to buy given our preferences. The tiny shop filled up with people as we were making our purchase. We have yet to try the bottles that we brought back, but I will update my review if they are really great or really horrible. I'm doubting that they will be horrible. In fact, that evening we dined at Bocanariz down the street, and they had many of the same bottles on their menu that were in the store. Given how many bottles of Chilean wine there are, it was an odd coincidence. Do they both have the same taste or did one copy the other? That remains to be known.
