"Located within a one-acre walled garden in the affluent Friends Colony gated neighborhood, The Manor feels like a restful country home with a solicitous, efficient staff and contemporary architecture. London-based designer Shirley Fujikawa’s interiors—think cherry-wood paneling, green granite bathrooms, and furniture in brown and cream silk or olive leather—create a soothing counterpoint to New Delhi’s sensory overload. The hotel’s out-of-the-way address has the same effect, but courteous English-speaking drivers with encyclopedic knowledge of city sights are on hand to collect guests from the airport and the nearby train station. For nearly eight years, many guests stayed here for the sheer convenience of dining at Indian Accent, run by internationally acclaimed chef Manish Mehrotra; today, The Manor hosts a series of culinary pop-ups showcasing cuisines, chefs, and restaurants from around the globe. But there’s an even better reason to book a room: The spa staff offers guests a free foot massage after an exceptionally long day’s travel or wait at the airport immigration line."

The Manor Hotel (New Delhi, India) 12 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"While 20 years is a long time in the boutique hospitality world, a careful renovation leaves The Manor looking as fresh as the day it first opened, if not fresher. And while New Delhi has only grown larger and more overwhelming in the past two decades, the hotel’s setting, within the upscale, semi-suburban New Friends Colony, remains as tranquil as ever, and elevates its claim to being an “urban resort” beyond mere hyperbole." - Tablet Hotels

3 stylish retreats in New Delhi - SilverKris

"Nestled among the grand mansions of South Delhi’s New Friends Colony, this iconic two-storey 1950s villa has been a local landmark for over two decades and recently underwent a sensitive restoration. The renovation refurbished original mosaic tiles and brightened the suites with contemporary furnishings paired with classic handloom textiles; the luxury hotel offers 14 individually styled rooms." - Rachna Sachasinh

We encountered several issues during our stay. The room was quite noisy, mainly because of the railway track nearby. Installing soundproof doors could have helped reduce the disturbance. We also faced brown water coming out from taps which presents concerns about water safety standards. On our last day, there was no water supply, and when we enquired, we were simply told it was “under maintenance,” which did not feel like a sufficient explanation for guests. The breakfast menu was exactly the same every day, with little variety. Overall, the service did not meet our expectations.

Quite disappointing! There was brown water coming out of the bathroom tap and there was no water supply for an hour on our last day. These are unacceptable for a hotel which claims to be of high standards. The overall cleanliness is also quite poor. Sadly it was a very unpleasant experience. Nonetheless, the staff are nice.

Avoid This Hotel – Extremely Poor Maintenance and Service I recently stayed at this so-called 5-star boutique property and had one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve ever had at a luxury hotel. Room Condition: The rooms were not maintained properly. For a property claiming 5-star standards, the upkeep was shockingly poor. Bathroom Failure: The bathroom stopped working completely as the toilet became clogged. This is unacceptable in any hotel, let alone one that charges premium rates. No Immediate Fix: When I reported the issue, I was told that the maintenance staff were not available until the next morning. The hotel offered no solution to fix the problem that night. Lobby Toilets for Guests: To my shock, the staff suggested I use the lobby toilets instead of addressing the problem in my room. This is not only inconvenient but also unhygienic for guests paying for private accommodation. Rude Staff & No Apology: The staff’s attitude was extremely unprofessional. They were dismissive, unapologetic, and even said outright that nothing could be done. At no point did they acknowledge the seriousness of the issue or attempt to provide even a temporary solution. Final Comment: This hotel fails completely in terms of basic hospitality, service standards, and maintenance. For foreign visitors or anyone expecting a true 5-star or boutique experience in India, staying here will only leave you with frustration and bad memories. There are far better boutique hotels in India that genuinely care about their guests and maintain international standards—this is not one of them.

I was a single woman travelling. The standard room is in an annexe attached to a terrace - and not the main building. When I requested a room in the main building - I was charged extra which I was ok to pay. However the receptionist insisted I pay midnight when I got back the night before I checked out. They were really rude about it and it was very off putting. Overall the service and friendliness of the reception staff is very poor. They need to upgrade here. The second issue is plumbing - needs to be fixed.

An unfortunate incident took place. My AirPods were stolen from my room and this was the second time I was staying here. The place is great but the staff is horrible, especially the manager Devika, I gave them almost a week to get back to me about trying to find out what had happened and give them a chance to recover my property which I shared a GPS location of. The manager after not bothering to even contact me back when spoken to was arrogant and simply said she asked the cleaning staff face to face about it and they said no. And just left the matter at that. Clearly not the kind of place you wanna go to with anything valuable in your life.

The only bad thing was the frontdesk at graveyard shift. He was the worst Frontdesk Officer I’ve ever met. I wonder how did he became a front officer with a dismissive and unhelpful attitude. His first response was always no. He never tried to help when we arrived with luggages in the middle of the night without guards and housekeeper to assist, he was just looking bored trying to call someone for help. I can’t believe it. I had to tell him to help but he helped when everything was unloaded from the car. Very disappointing. The housekeeper was the best and most amazing part of our stay. Written as buffet but it was ala carte for breakfast though you can order anything from the menu. The breakfast staff was the best mostly the chefs, food was amazing and staff were always smiling except for the dark ***. Lobby has no air condition for a whole week we were there. The hotel is artistic, the design is very pleasing to the eye. All in all it was good but we won’t go back

This is to report an unfortunate incident after giving the hotel and the manage the chance to make up for it. My AirPods were stolen from my room and they took 5 days to simply ask one question to their cleaning staff “have you seen them or taken them?” And post that did not even bother to contact me. The manager seems fairly entitled. I’d suggest avoiding staying here. The place is great but clearly the staff is horrible.
