I have been a customer of Paspaley for almost 20 years on behalf of my wife. Until now we have been very happy. Unfortunately, when we needed them to step up and rectify a manufacturing flaw, they were disappointing. We have sent the same ring back to them on two separate occasions, firstly because some diamonds fell out (apparently the ring was bent at some stage according to them for which we paid over $1000 to get repaired). We were then told that the ring should not be worn regularly but only on special occasions otherwise it can become damaged. (Sure, like wearing a shirt - if you don't wear it, it won't get ripped! Priceless advice). The second time the same ring, after wearing it only about twice a year, as advised, the large pearl fell off and was lost (there was no accident/damage to cause this). We returned the ring to them and said we thought this was dodgy workmanship and should not have happened. They denied it (apparently, this also happens when you wear it too often - according to the assistant at the Darwin store . That will be another $1000 to replace the pearl. We tried to negotiate a fair outcome by asking them to at least be responsible for part of the loss given that when you buy a pearl ring, the pearl should never just fall out. They refused and despite repeated requests to revisit their intransigence, they didn't budge. So we had them send us back the ring. The experience left us very disappointed and angry. We don't expect manufacturing perfection, but do expect professional and responsible service when a ring falls apart. We expected much better, especially being a long time repeat customer, but instead got treated very poorly so won't be buying anything else from them. Be warned!
