I took my wife here on a Friday night after reading so many positive reviews. It helps that I, literally, live across the street from the restaurant. It was an extremely pleasant experience all around. We started with the Fried Oysters, which were lightly breaded and very tender. My wife had the Lobster, while I opted for the Seafood Pasta. The lobster tail was quite large, fresh, and cooked perfectly, and was a big hit with my wife. The pasta arrived with two large, succulent, shrimp along with two perfectly seared scallops. We were both satiated so we skipped dessert. The service was top notch. We will definitely be back to sample more of the menu.

A gem of a restaurant. The outdoor hedge creates a cooling effect without blocking mountain views. Lunch salad very filling with healthy oil and vinegar dressing and delicious bread. Bloody Mary perfect for a hot day... Not too much booze and no salt. We dined here years ago; so glad to see it still in business. Will return.

This place was absolutely incredible! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how well everything was organized. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the staff was both friendly and efficient. We received our food quickly, which was a pleasant surprise, and when it arrived, it exceeded our expectations. The portions were perfectly sized for the price, offering great value without compromising on quality. The food itself was delicious, cooked to perfection, and full of flavor. The servers and other workers were attentive, constantly making sure everything was going smoothly. It’s clear that they truly care about their customers.

Reservations are recommended. It’s a small place with indoor and outdoor seating. They bring a white board around to share the Specials. Started with the Royale salad on the board. It was a tomato salad with a Mediterranean style. Great. We ordered one for the two of us but they split it. We had the Cajun Barramundi, also on the board. Excellent! Usually this is a whole fish but they serve it as a fillet. Great portion and perfectly spiced. On a plate of mixed veggies. We also had the Paella. This was disappointing. It came on a bowl and not served in the iron skillet. The waiter hadn’t given this as a description so our expectation wasn’t in the right place. The contents should have been good together but the shrimp was overcooked and the thigh chicken on the bone would have been better if it had been in pieces. The rice also had quite a bit of water in it which made it not so good. There was also a good amount muscles and some sausage. Basically it was a fish stew with rice. We’ve been here before and we know it’s good. We will return as their is fish is fresh and we like that mostly everything is accompanied with a good portion of mixed veggies. But we won’t have the Paella! :)

Finally went to Oceans and it lived up to our friends recommendations. We were seated next to their aquarium at a cozy table for two adding to our experience. My wife had a Caesar salad with grilled salmon that was brilliantly prepared and she loved it. Very fresh! I started with a half dozen oysters that had that great taste of the ocean I love. I then had the Oceans salad which was excellent followed by a fish special barramundi which was absolutely fantastic! First time I have had it which was similar to another favorite of mine branzino. We will absolutely return and save room for dessert next time!

We went last night for dinner. Dining room looked very nice and cozy but we wanted to dine on the patio (not a good choice). We had patio seating with music coming from a wireless speaker seating on the edge of the window behind us (annoying). Escargot was tasteless and felt like were thrown in the microwave with butter and garlic (not fresh garlic). Penne with lobster again over cooked pasta with pieces of chewy lobster. Bouillabaisse was boiled seafood. Definitely overrated. An overpriced seafood restaurant with a cozy atmosphere that served food what you would wouldn’t expect ever from a quick service restaurant.

This was my first time coming to this place. It's a small, intimate place with top-notch staff that take great care of you. Lots of parking in front and beside the place. The manager actually came outside and greeted us as we arrived. He explained that because of the Covid-19 pandemic, you had to show your vaccination card to eat inside but there was plenty of tables outside if you didn't have proof of vaccination. The menu has a good selection of things to offer. Obviously this is a seafood restaurant and there are a lot of choices. In addition they offer a variety of meat, steak, lambchops, and pasta dishes. Everything sounds delicious. We started off with appetizers. I had the crab cakes and my friend had the steamed clams. Both were excellent and cooked perfectly. Lots of good choices for appetizers! For the main course, I had the scallops and my friend had the Chilean Sea Bass. They were served with mashed potatoes and vegetables. Everything was absolutely delicious. Unlike a lot of other restaurants, these guys focus on quality over quantity. The meal was filling but I wasn't overstuffed. I really prefer that. Oh, and their bread is great! It's served with olive oil but butter is available. Very addictive! For dessert, I had a hard time choosing but decided on the raspberry cheesecake. It was perfect. Slightly tangy raspberry sauce and perfect NY style cheesecake. The restaurant's ambiance was nice. The tables are close enough for cross-table conversations. The people at the adjacent tables were very nice and friendly. The restaurant staff were great. They kept a close watch to make sure your drink was refilled or if you needed anything. They were professional but very friendly. My friend lives very close to the restaurant and comes there often. I definitely look forward to coming back soon! Bottom line - an excellent place to have a delicious meal. It's a little pricey but totally worth every penny.

My wife and I celebrated our 16th anniversary here tonight. Excellent food and service. My wife had the lobster raviolis and I had the blackened ahi tuna. Both very good. They graciously provided a free tasty desert. Highly recommended if you are in Cathedral City and worth the drive from Palm Springs.

Yelp
Sometimes you venture into a restaurant only to find out that you are in Heaven! This is that place. From the moment your eyes feast on the gorgeous place, your nose will capture the smell of garlic, olive oil and fresh fish cooking. The service is first class after 29 years in business. Nothing is left to chance and they treated me to a birthday dessert that was excellent. We look forward to coming back many times! Thank you again for a priceless evening. Cheers,

Rich C.

Yelp
Again this is one of the must visit favorites of Palm Springs. We have been eating here since they opened about 30 years ago now. The food is great and the seafood double great. Service is consistently too notch, personal and accommodating! Ambiance is what you might expect for a quality restaurant that's been in business 30 years in the same location. At once familiar and after a couple visits it's like home!

Yelp
We ended up here by accident because the road closures made it difficult to get to another seafood place in downtown PS. So we decided to try out Oceans for our frigate night Lenten meal. It was packed but they found us a table. The bread and the garlic oil dip was enough to put us into heaven. The perfect combo of a light olive oil, spices and garlic made it perfect. They had a wonderful array of seafood. I had the bouillabaisse and my partner had shrimp scampi over capellini. Everything cooked perfectly with great flavor. Sumptuous soup base. Drinks were great. Room is sexy, definitely a date night place. Service was off the hook. Great attention like they actually care about your experience !!! It was pricey, but worth. Who would expect to find fine dining in a shopping center??????!!!!

Kelly B.

Yelp
Best local restaurant, best staff, amazing seafood and quality wine list. Something for everyone here.

Downey B.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant and best Seafood Restaurant in the Coachella Valley! I have lunch here often and LOVE the Grilled Octopus, the Fried Oysters are a great option too. Also, dinner is on a whole nother level, steak and lobster, pasta seafood dishes, and cioppino are excellent here. I've enjoyed seafood up and down the whole West Coast and this restaurant is one of the best because they care to take the time to do things right!

Holly L.

Yelp
This gem has been here for 30 years and I'm just discovering it now!! The front dining room with a small bar and an enormous aquarium is a cross in decor between modern and 1970's mariner kitsch with rose pink tablecloths and napkins. We took our own seat and were given menus and fresh hot crusty bread with a side of herbed olive oil to dip in. They have a hand written menu on a white board with all of the specials of the day plus their standard menu. I had fried oysters to start with which we shared. My mom ordered grilled octopus with linguine which was phenomenal. I had the seafood Caesar which was ribs of Romaine with the clams and mussels in the shells around the center which had a very large prawn and scallop, and house made dressing with fresh garlic. I dove into before I could take a picture ‍ We finished by splitting a tiramisu which was by far the best I have ever had and I've eaten a lot of tiramisu! Everything was cooked to perfection and obviously made with fresh ingredients. Can't wait to come back!!

Kristin M.

Yelp
Wonderful atmosphere, attentive wait staff, unbelievable food! I will definitely be back!!

Mark M.

Yelp
Personal service they completely listen to patrons and suggest wonderful choices. Ready to visit again soon!

Nancy C.

Yelp
Small little place with easy parking. The moment you enter you are treated like family. This establishment will be celebrating 30 years in business next year. That is no small feat in this industry. Everyone is so friendly. Two rooms plus an outdoor space give you choices. The attentive staff is top-notch. Ask for the recommendations and they will give them to you with candor, something I've always liked in a good server. Seafood is fresh and delightful and wonderfully sauced and cooked. Everything was delicious from the Chilean Seabass with the checca sauce to the blackened Burramandi, which was spectacular and the butterflied Grilled whole prawns. One guest who is not a fish fan really really Enjoyed the rack of lamb everything was fresh favorable, and beautifully presented. The staff is warm and fighting and very talented. We helped to return again next week before we leave for home.

Kathy b.

Yelp
Great seafood & service! Menu changes daily. Can sit inside or out. Tucked away in the mall -near Goodwill & Eisenhower Health & across the street from Target. Always try to go for lunch a couple of times each winter season that we are there.

Helen R.

Yelp
A great place to eat for a romantic dinner. Customer service is very important to us and this place is top notch.

Kate R.

Yelp
Amazing service, the whole team came over to help us, interact with us, and were sooooo kind! We had multiple items on the menu and I did not have one thing I didn't enjoy. We will gladly return in the future. The scallops were the best I've ever had and the baked oysters were the favorite of the night!

Liz V.

Yelp
Oceans' bouillabaisse was a delight. The mix of seafood of mussels, clams, shrimp, salmon, and scallop in the super flavorful broth was amazing. It was busy on a Friday night but we got seared quickly and the service was wonderful.

Todd P.

Yelp
After 25 years in the desert, I finally got to Oceans (I don't eat seafood). Such a nice place.

John H.

Yelp
I really wanted to try this place because I like seafood. Inside was nothing special. The staff was very friendly and pleasant. We tried the fried oysters, crab cakes and octopus. The fried oysters and crab cakes were ok. I was anticipating trying the octopus, but I was disappointed. It was very chewy and hard to cut, even with a steak knife. One reason I wanted to try this place was because they have swordfish or so it said on the menu; however, they didn't. I couldn't get any swordfish at this restaurant. Since I couldn't get swordfish, I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass. It was ok, but it wasn't what I was expecting. I was hoping it came with rice, but the menu didn't say that it came with anything I can see why they didn't put it on the menu. They served it with some overcooked steamed vegetables. They were bland as could be. The pasta was pretty good as well as the complimentary bread they serve.

Blanca F.

Yelp
Delicious!! The Chilean sea bass was melt in your mouth deliciousness and the blackened barramundi was light and flavorful. Best service, very attentive staff. Nice ambiance. Will absolutely be coming here again.

Chris S.

Yelp
Delicious rack of lamb and lobster! Beautiful atmosphere! The Mediterranean vibe is awesome! Friendly staff!

Mia F.

Yelp
Excellent restaurant that we had to try because we wanted fish and the reviews were so good. Not disappointed in the least. The (big) cup of Oceans chowder was the one of the best this chowder fanatic's ever had. While my Chilean Seabass was a good 4/5, my partner's blackened Barramundi was pure 5-star delight. Warm friendly relaxed service with everyone wishing me a happy birthday and ensuring we had everything we needed right down to really fine cheesecake for dessert. We'll be back.

Rick A.

Yelp
This is the best kept secret in the desert. The service is amazing, our waiter was perfect as well as ourbus person.! they are the real deal like restaurants when I was growing up. Make sure you make a reservation because they can get very busy in season. All the food is delicious. We have never had a bad meal there, but last night was particularly good. A 12 ounce lobster cooked perfectly.... Please patronize these people they deserve our service unlike so many of the restaurants that simply cater to vacationers, knowing full well they won't be back for a few years. Thank you, Oceans for another amazing experience.

Victor D.

Yelp
Came all the way from LA and they were closed with a tacky sign posted on door saying "Gone Fishing returning on 8/20".

Mark B.

Yelp
Arrived 30 mins early for my 7pm reservation and within minutes, I was seated despite the place being incredibly busy. Order a vodka martini with blue cheese stuffed olives, the escargot, ocean's salad, and the blackened barramundi. Cocktail? 4 stars. Slightly over shaken. But still had another Escargot? 5+ stars. Divine. Great temperature. Oceans Salad? 2 stars. Overpowered by the balsamic vinegar and wish the tomatoes were naturally ripe. Blackened Barramundi? Exceptional. It's rare to find a kitchen that doesn't overcook seafood. Clearly, this is their forte. The staff was incredibly attentive and timed every course perfectly. That made for a great night out. Will I be back? Absolutely. So much more of the menu to explore or should I say easel with nightly specials.

Mark G.

Yelp
Food was great! Be sure to check out the daily specials! Service was amazing as well.

Sherrill S.

Yelp
The whole staff makes you feel so welcomed as soon as you walk in, the service is great and they really know how to prepare all seafood dishes. Always have the best fresh oysters and a great selection of wines. Thank you we will be back very soon

Ellie J.

Yelp
Food was delicious! The tiramisu was excellent. Ahi was delicious and cooked to perfection

Pat H.

Yelp
Love this place, thefood is always good. The drinks are generous, and the staff is outstanding. The ambience is comfortable and welcoming.

Roger N.

Yelp
Good drinks, friendly staff. Chewy octopus was difficult to eat. Probably will not return.

Kim S.

Yelp
We had an excellent dinner at Oceans. Cozy, homey atmosphere (quiet without feeling uptight), personal service, nice menu plus fresh specials on the board, and really good seafood. Bonus points for easy parking and not having to go downtown.

Janet F.

Yelp
Good food, great service & wonderful ambience! This was our second time there & we will definitely return! The lobster was awesome as were the fried oysters!

Valerie F.

Yelp
Such a great experience at this restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed this experience. Food was amazing and service was wonderful. Thank you !

Amber E.

Yelp
Cute little seafood spot; located in a strip mall across the street from Trader Joe's, but right up against the mountains, and nice patio. Reasonable prices for Palm Springs - all the lunch prices were under $20 for various seafood dishes. I got the seafood pasta w/ shrimp, calamari, scallops and mussels over Capellini in garlic wine sauce, and seafood was fresh and tender w/ tiny clams, too. My husband got the blackened ahi salad, which was very flavorful and good. Shared a bottle of wine, which was nice. Service was friendly. Totally recommend!

Sarah V.

Yelp
Always great here, good service also. Fish is always fresh and cooked perfect! Very clean and fresh table cloths

Elizabeth G.

Yelp
Our second and last visit to this attractive small restaurant. Our first visit was a delicious lovely dining experience. Last night two of our three meals mediocre with absolutely no taste to the entree or sides. Our indifferent waiter totally disappeared after serving our meal. Happy to pay for a good meal in a pleasant environment with a wait staff that are happy and accommodating. Last night this was not the case.

Stephanie B.

Yelp
5 STARS+ Over all for the cuisine, ambiance, service consistent with style and class, there is no place I would rather dine. There is a thoughtful wine selection to peruse and enjoy with the impeccable entrees. From memorable appetizers to the array of desserts, you will have a delightful experience. This is the place for dining in the desert. Drop by or plan for a special occasion. I've never been disappointed coming with friends, neighbors, family over the years. Healthful, quality food that is always fresh and appealing. Homemade soups when available, endive salad, pasta and fresh seafood dishes. Love the Sand dabs. Oysters on the half shell or the Rockefeller are unsurpassed anywhere in town! Steak and Lobster worth the splurge. Lemoncello or a cappucino ice cream dessert are great endings.

Christian ..

Yelp
This was my first visit in a group of 5 to celebrate a friend's birthday. We shared a couple of Appetisers including calamari and a platter of oysters. Both were delightful. In fact I could've ordered a bowl of the tomato sauce the calamari came in to have on it's own! As an entrée I had the blackened Barramundi, which was equally as good as the food which preceded it. We shared a few bottles of wine, which was selected from a varied wine list. Both were very enjoyable. Everyone fed back similar responses for their own dishes. The service was friendly, professional and attentive but not intrusive. Honestly, a 5 star review well earned. I can't wait to return again, and I am already spreading the word!

Edward C.

Yelp
Excellent food, great service and a charming atmosphere - have been to several times and look forward to going back!

Sharon F.

Yelp
Great lunch - food is super and wait staff very nice. Closing at 2pm when we were eating but never felt rushed- will go back for sure

Kim B.

Yelp
After the last 3 years of Cv-19, we have been very trepid about eating out because wherever we go everything in the hospitality industry seems lackluster. We took my parents to Oceans because they love seafood and we were pleasantly surprised! We have a 2nd home less than a mile away since 2004 and didn't know Oceans existed. The service, food and restaurant were so good!! We will def be back. I had the barramundi. My mate had the sand dabs piccata, my parents had the fried oysters and we all shared the Greek salad! Our waiter was so attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The dining room was clean and spotless. All the food was fresh. The Greek salad was a bit pricey but it was super fresh. For really good seafood cooked with love, you can't go wrong with Oceans! We will be back.

Raymond B.

Yelp
Fish is good. Service is fair. For Palm Springs, it's worth it occasionally. The ambiance is just fine -- not pretentious; not overdone and does not out perform the food.

Lisa Z.

Yelp
5 Star service, meal and ambiance! Food was well played, generous portions and delicious.

Sarah V.

Yelp
My husband made us reservations for 630. We were there at 630. They walked us to this bench and told us to sit down while they got a table ready. They then proceeded to seat another couple that walked in maybe 10min after us. We looked at the owner (?) for an explanation and he said, "we're going to get this table ready for you" and motioned to a table that was occupied by a couple people that were hanging out, talking, having wine, with no sign of leaving any time soon. Kind of a red flag when your menu is on a whiteboard with no prices listed anyway I guess. Oh well.

Tony G.

Yelp
Made reservation and was sat on bench while walk-ins were sat ahead of us. Great customer service :/

A N.

Yelp
The menu is very good, especially the fish. I highly recommend the Seabass, which is not always available. This portion of fish was about 3 ounces. Not enough for dinner. The Wine menu is OK. However, stay away from ordering the house wine. You're better off buying wine at Walmart. Now let's talk about the service which is questionable. We have been there 6 times and consistently we've found that the servers are impatient and short fused. We understand that they are busy, but that's no excuse.

Scott N.

Yelp
I would call this a hidden gem! My friend took me here. I had never heard of Oceans and I live 3 minutes away. The soft bread and delicious garlic oil they serve is addicting. I chose the calamari and my friend chose the lobster salad. Both were great. I was expecting the usual breaded and fried calamari, but this calamari had no breading just a nice spicy tomato sauce. Our main courses were the Cajun Ahi and the Swordfish. Both were delicious. My only suggestion would be that since every dish pretty much comes with the same sides, mashed potatoes and vegetables, to maybe offer a few sides that guests can choose. The service was attentive and professional and all the food came out in a timely manner. I definitely will be returning and I definitely will be spreading the word.

Susan P.

Yelp
My family member took me to Oceans for my birthday. The atmosphere was comfortable the service was great. The food was excellent. The mussels were tender cooked perfectly. The lamb and the filet mignon were tender, flavorful and also cooked perfectly . They even gave me a birthday dessert. I can't wait to go back there.

Steve S.

Yelp
We wanted a Seafood restaurant on our vacation itinerary and during my online research, realized that this was where we dined the last time we were in the area (6 years ago). Service and food is excellent. The only "negative" is that you cannot see any signage from E. Palm Canyon Drive, so we drove past it, only to catch a landmark when we realized that we passed it. It is located in the back corner of a shopping center, what we call back home a "strip center". There is a sign at the entrance for stores in the shopping center, with blank spaces -- a perfect opportunity for Oceans to have a sign at the entrance so others don't drive past it!

peg w.

Yelp
Excellent fresh food served promptly. The restaurant is amazing yet quite small. Word has spread and they are full. To be sure to enjoy this experience, make a reservation. We had Chilean Seabass and Sand Dabs. Each large portion and absolutely delicious. Birthday celebrations and the desserts were worth the calories. Lovely way to spend a special occasion.

K M.

Yelp
I forget the name of the fish I had but you get the gist from pic - it was an overall excellent experience at Oceans. Great ambiance, service, and food.

Ellie C.

Yelp
We had a fantastic lunch at Ocean's yesterday! The portions are plenty and the wine pours are healthy! Everything in our meal was fresh and flavorful! We will be back!

Susan C.

Yelp
Food, service and cleanliness are excellent. We love this place. Give yourself or your family and friends a real treat and take them here you wont be disappointed.
